blindspotting - gentrification....prison industrial complex...police brutality and racism are the main focus of this movie but they are handled in such an intimate and unique was...its basically a buddy comedy and a really smart and funny one but with one of the most searing last half hours of a movie i can remember...the way they weaved all the hip-hop and slam poetry was cool too and man what a love letter oakland...definitely the best movie of the year so far and a best picture lock

Since I had nothing else to do today I took my kid to see Mission Impossible - Fallout.

It was pointless and dumb but it wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen.  B-

mission impossible has improbably become the best ongoing film series still in existence.  They've all been entertaining since the third one.

They walk a very thin line between me being amazed at the non-CGI special effects and the shtein Tom Cruise is willing to do on one end and the need to turn your brain off at the realism of it all on the other.  He got a helicopter license to fly the helicopter by himself in this.

I liked this one though I did think it was slightly overrated with the reviews.

Rome

I'm not a Cruise fan at all but strangely enough he surrounds himself with really likable casts in these movies.   Pegg & Rames are really good together.  The babes are usually hot.  Even the villains are amusing.

Again, the movies are exercises in disbelief suspension, but I've seen worse in my life.

The death throes of MoviePass are getting pretty ugly.

i dont know how its ugly for any users unless maybe you signed up for the yearly subscription last week or something or wanna see winnie the pooh...and even then it looks like its gonna make it at least thru the summer....other wise all you gotta do is see one movie and you are like +5 bucks for the month

i cant believe there is a single person who isnt surprised that  it has already lasted this long....i paid 69.00 for a year last september and have seen 27 movies so far...2.50 per movie for almost a year aint bad

i did have to pay for a movie last thursday because it was broke and down but it was a movie i would have paid full price for anyway

Is there anything more old and white than watching certain movies only if they're discounted? Thank god this wasn't one of them

Rome

Did you just call igy old and white?

Old from the waist up and white from the waist down.

You probably shouldn't watch movies you don't give a farg about seeing. Read a book, LeVar

By "ugly", I'm not saying MoviePass has been a bad deal. It was good while it lasted. I'm saying it's rare for a company to so suddenly and publicly hit a wall where everything breaks down at once. It's a warning for the broader economy that a business plan like this could have been funded to the level it was.

In the last 30 days they've had multiple unannounced outages, their stock has nearly been delisted, they introduced additional "surge" fees on top of their base price, they've increased the base price by 50%, and they've announced that major studio films won't be available in the first two weeks and the ability to get into blockbusters even after two weeks will be restricted.

believe it or not not every movie is either an oscar or razzie contender...theres lots in the middle...before movie pass it was 'well it looks decent but not worth seeing in the theater'...with movie pass that thinking went out the window...MP allowed you to see movies on the big screen that you were kinda interested in but probably not enough to pay 15 bucks for

i feel like thats happened since the internet start up boom in the 90's its just that most companies dont reach the name recognition apex that movie pass had

also has there ever been a company like movie pass that offered what they were offering...i mean again there might have been no name start ups that tried but i cant believe there was a company that offered so much for so little and got as big as they did...it was inevitable that they were gonna crash and burn and do it hard and fast
