They had to sweep and they did.

Good to see Turner and Marsh continuing to rake

MDS

if they didnt sweep, what happens?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

We bitch and moan and you scold us as the arbiter of Phillies fandom

MDS

seems like a predictable outcome

kind of hoping walker starts over the weekend, it goes poorly, and everyone commits mass suicide

I'd give the ginger a start or two more

MDS

walker says he is ready and you get into grievance issues if he is claiming to be healthy and they arent activating him. he doesnt have options. turnbull has thrown 140 innings since 2019 - he cannot and will not throw 150 innings this year.

so add all that up and walker is going to start. if it goes horrible after 2-3 starts they probably make a move. if its mediocre to average they probably stick with it. if its good, you dont remember the name turnbull.

Starting staff looks really damn good. Dreading return of Walker.

Really wish Walker had trade value

QuotePhillies manager Rob Thomson implied Friday that Turnbull will likely move to the bullpen after he starts Wednesday's game in Cincinnati, MLB.com reports.Taijuan Walker (shoulder) tossed 6.1 innings and 102 pitches in his latest rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, setting him up to return from the 15-day injured list and take back a spot in the rotation next weekend in San Diego. Rather than making room for both Walker and Turnbull and expanding the rotation to six men, the latter is poised to head to the bullpen as the Phillies look to manage his innings. Even with Turnbull's upcoming move to relief, Thomson is optimistic that the right-hander can get enough work to stay stretched out in the event a spot in the rotation opens up again. Turnbull has been tremendous thus far for any managers in deeper mixed leagues or NL-only leagues that scooped him up in the later rounds of drafts, as he's gone 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB across 22 innings.

Too much fretting about the bottom of the rotation. Let Walker soak up some April innings. If he's terrible you have justification to replace him. Don't think the Turnbull thing is sustainable either from a quantity or a quality perspective, but he's still there in the BP and can pitch valuable innings, it's not like they are giving up on him.

5-1 had to know the run wasn't gonna continue
