This is my '08 team. I will entertain reasonable offers for ANY of these players. No one is completely off limits if the offer is right.
I have denoted rookies since they have extra value as roster-keeper exceptions.

Hey Commish...I don't remember where I put that piece of paper I wrote my team roster on...can you post it for me? Thanks.
No. Figure it out. Everyone else did.
It kind of sounds like discrimination.
Does it have anything to do with the fact that my team is non-pacific islander?
I only discriminate against stupidity. All others are treated equally.
I cater to the stupid:
Pink Poo-Poo Poopies
QB
David Garrard
Aaron Rodgers
Ben Roethlisberger

1-TE
1-WR/RB
1-K
1-Def
?
This can be easily verified by checking Yahoo, but yes that's it.
That would mean having to open another tab on my browser, clicking on the yahoo bookmark, typing my email and password, clicking on the fantasy sports, logging in, and look for the starting rosters. You do understand the hardship?
lol, yes, I do

can keepers be changed prior to aug 18th? in other words, if i list them today and then one of them shoots themselves in the dick tomorrow and will miss the season, can he be replaced by someone else on my roster up to the 18th?
shut up
make me, hot stuff.

so there.
Dio's right. It's a stupid question. Just wait until the designated date and give me your keepers then. Weirdo.
perhaps i'll be mostly unavailable from now until then and want to designate my keepers now, but don't want to be penalized if one of them goes down over the next couple weeks.
Whatever. Post them whenever you want. If one of them gets swine aids we'll deal with it appropriately.
nah, i can wait until we get close to the 18th. i was just looking for casual conversation.
Glad to disappoint.

I just finished my master spreadsheet for this season's drafts. Now you're all in big, big trouble.

moving forward, fine
moving back, mutiny
I'm snickering out loud at the idea of a fantasy football league mutiny in a league that costs zero dollars. I'm sure everyone's bitter about how dominating my team is, but imagine how bitter I am about the fact that I'm gaining nothing from this domination. Dammitall.
moving the draft back to the 20th or beyond would actually be quite convenient for me as i will be without internets starting tomorrow until the 20th. of course, i had simply planned on going to a library or something for the draft so it's really of no consequence to me unless the date is moved up.
Screw having a draft. Waiver Wire Pandemonium!! 1
*edit - what kind of message board would have a feature to remove a 1 from a row of ! BOOOOOOOOO
I'm going to move it to a weekday night. Any preferences for one night over another?
my only preference is that i get to spend 2 or 3 hours in continuous chat with rusty. the day of the week is inconsequencial.
Not a Tuesday night...and can we be a little sensitive to Pacific time? My appointments are generally after 5pm pacific....a Monday is usually a good day and not as busy.
Let's do it on a Friday night
Pacific time can lick the tip.
As can Friday night drafts.
no preferences, though I think chuggie's got a point...make it a 9 p.m. slot. not too late for normal people, and not too early for him to cry about it all year long because farg, at least we tried

Haha. You're far too accommodating to your fellow league-mates.
Anyone interested in putting some money on this. There are inherent problems with putting money up for a keeper league that has already been running for years, but I'll bet we could come up with something that makes sense... or not. Whatever.

6 of the 7 keepers on my roster are top 15 picks, and one guy I'm not keeping as well. Not too shabby.
I have a rookie that I'm not keeping (Slaton) if anyone can come up with a trade scenario that tempts me (next year's first round pick?) I am willing to listen rather than just letting hbionic grab a top-15 player.
Also, I made an assumption on a 6th player for hbionic's keeper list.

No. It's a special kind of yahoo draft where you are ejected from the planet for missing the draft. Also, we moved the date and time based on your west coast whining. So be there. Ass.
the draft date and time change caters to my needs as well so your efforts do not go totally unappreciated.
awww...everybody loves everybody
this is a non-snaking draft correct?
That is correct.
you are neat
Stuck with my draft-a-million-rookies theme from last season. 0% chance it works out as well, but not to worry, my team is still sick.

I'm locked in an epic battle with hbionic right now. He's up by 12, 128-116 with my defense (SD) and his TE (Miller) still to go. No other team in the league even has 95 points.
I have 93.39, Rusty. Recognize!
and phillycrew has dropped 101 on me so far.
I'm pretty sure I lost by 1 point.
Mexicans- 137.81
Anal Lube- 130.12
yeah...it was pretty freakin close. I thought there's no way I'd win with you having the Chargers D against tha Raidas.
Willie Parker is an icehole.
dio's team was a freaking buzzsaw this weekend and mine was a butter knife.
The teams look a little more evenly matched this year than in years past. Which is gay.
One of these years I might actually make the draft and then hopefully my team will at least come close to mediocore
Unlikely, but humor yourself.
haha
me = 3-0 and third lowest scoring total.
suck it
Half of my team was on a bye this week and I didn't want to drop any of them so I started Michael Turner. And won anyway.
Playoffs are on! Dio has the strongest team heading into this part of the schedule.
A solid 3-11 season from me.
But I put down 1435 points and sucked.
Michael Turner (injuries) and Matt Forte (lack of talent) ate my farging lunch this year. I'm sitll in the playoffs, but not nearly as dominantly as I am accustomed to. Oh well, at least I have two first round picks next year. Suckers.
no you don't. i stoled them.
i have no doubt that i am headed for a first round exit after being in first all year.
i lead the league in record but have the least amount of points of all the playoff teams.
favorable scheduling worked in your favor. it still could though. hopefully you don't have a roster full of colts and saints players and your opponents do as both teams can start resting players and easing off the gas a little bit from here on out.
i have 2 saints, bush and thomas, so nothing critical
Addai ain't gonna help me much, but neither will my bench.
Congrats Dio. MJD certainly did well for you. Merry Christmas.
chuggie did great with Peyton, but I did better with MJD
I don't know if you were watching the scoring closely, but it was tight. Eagles D and Akers nearly pulled out a win for you.

Towards the end of the game, I was conflicted about wanting TD's for the Eagles and field goals for my fantasy team. It was a close one.
OK so injuries and indifference tanked my season. Congrats to Dio. Nice team.
A few announcements:
- Indifference is unacceptable. We need to put money on this shtein next year. Not going to break anyone's bank, but something in the $20 range should suffice to keep everyone's attention.
- I have several players who I would like to trade. Mostly WRs. I will happily trade just about any of my receivers for the right draft picks/players. The list: R. Moss, W. Welker, T. Owens, P. Harvin, S. Smith (Car), M. Manningham.

really? because in years passed we've gone off of the playoff results for everyone. i know this because in 2006 i finished dead last (1-13) but ended up 5th place after the playoffs because i "won" the consolation bracket and got the 4th pick in the 07 draft instead of the first pick.
06 keeper results (http://archive.fantasysports.yahoo.com/nfl/2006/156150)
from the 2007 keeper league thread:
Quote from: rjs246 on August 22, 2007, 09:05:07 PM
Draft Order based on reverse final standings as they appear now on last year's league site:
1. rjs
2. Mikey (still hasn't signed up)
3. T-Hawk
4. Sarge (still hasn't signed up, but confirmed that he's in)
5. Philly_Crew (was Chuck)
6. SunMo (was Zanshin)
7. HBionic (was FF)
8. Dio
so going by that, i'll end up in 7th place this year and should get the 2nd pick next year not the third.
i also thought this was funny from the 07 thread:
Quote from: rjs246 on August 22, 2007, 10:06:50 PM
Yeah, I farged up. Munson doesn't have a team to take over. More's the pity.
also, i'm down for dropping $20 on this thing next year.
Ha! I had no idea there even was a consolation bracket. I always just looked at the final standings and did the draft order in reverse. A consolation bracket is ghetto as shtein and doesn't mean a goddamned thing, but if that's how we've done it in the past I guess we can do it that way again this year.
Have I mentioned that we need to put money on this shtein?
we are putting money on it next year...anybody who doesn't want to is OUT
Quote from: rjs246 on December 28, 2009, 12:58:11 PM

i didn't either up until the start of the 07 season and couldn't figure out for the life of me how i ended up in 5th place after finishing the season 1-13. then i got to pointing and clicking around yahoo and saw the consolation bracket. i think it's pretty lame and shouldn't count but apparently we've been going off the results from it every year to determine draft order so there's no sense in changing it now.
There's plenty of sense in changing it now unless you happen to get screwed by changing it. Which you do. So I'm seriously considering changing it because it's farging stupid AND it would screw you, sort of.
but not changing it would screw you.
That's why it's awesome to hold all of the power.
