I liked the sarcastic cheer by the Phils fans tonight when they scored their first run.

I'm watching MLB Tonight longing for the days of clutch hits and solid contact by Phillies hitters.

When is the last time Senor Grit has put good wood on a ball?

When will that smarmy jerkoff Amaro make a move to shake shtein up?

ice grillin you

grit is obviously hurt

you didnt hear?

The BIGSTUD

Everyone acknowledges how awful the team is and how bad the stretch has been, but there are over 100 games left to play. There is no reason to give up.

When this team was playing to their level, they had the best record in the NL. I don't think it is possible for this to continue for the rest of the season.

Has any team in baseball history with the winning pedigree the Phils have fallen off for the rest of a season with 120 games to go where the whole team just forgot to hit? Sometimes players have bad seasons and they just last an entire season, but to have it happen for an entire team of proven players like the Phils have to continue is one in a billion.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

you do realize the phillies could "fall off" win 87 games and finish in third....right?

And it could tailspin even more and they're looking up at the .500 mark and then they're in real trouble.

These fools are 31-28 after being , what...25-15?

They better farging pick it up. Its hard to find any good in Phillieville right now.

The BIGSTUD

They could finish anywhere. So could any team in this division right now. What I'm saying is that for that scenario to happen, you would have to have more than half your team severely underachieve for the entire season.

Can you ever remember a time where a team with winning pedigree in any sport(ie championship caliber teams) have half the roster underachieve for almost an entire season?

It would be like the Lakers coming into next season with Kobe averaring 16 ppg, Artest averging 8 ppg, and Gasol averging 12 ppg and them winning 42 games. It would just be unexpected and illogical. Now I realize baseball is a totally different game, but the point is the same.

Yep. I'm reaching.

Gritley at the bat; in Philliville.

And he turns over a weak grounder to 1st.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

But he sure busts it down the line!

When's Jimmy coming back? They need him.
