Smart as hell to do it now.  Not because they'd ever lose him but lock him up before he really gets a chance to do damage in this league and his demands become even higher.

Maybe the "gold standard" has rubbed off on a few.   :paranoid

Smart move.  I really believe the Eagles "Gold Standard" line hurt the team more than any player did this year ;)
