It's a year old, but a list of players with deferred contracts who will continue getting paid for years after they retire.

Haha, helmet to helmet.

You know what's crazy? I may have mentioned this before...but I have a nephew who's a Junior now or going into his senior year. He's been playing linebacker on the varsity team for two seasons now...and he told me he has already registered 5 concussions.

What. The. Farg?

I love football, but not enough to put my health at risk like that. Not that I have to worry about that shtein anyway, but damn. He said 8 is the allowable limit.

basketball (half court, full court is not allowed) is huge in the mormon community. one of the few sports they are allowed to play. best HS team in the country right now is one of those mormon towns.

Braves lost 5-1 to the Phillies
QuoteATLANTA -- Authorities in Atlanta say the death of a man who fell over a railing at Turner Field has been ruled a suicide.

Investigators with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said Thursday that they discussed the death of 30-year-old Ronald Lee Homer Jr. with his family last week before releasing their findings to the media.

Police say Homer died after falling about 85 feet from a walkway on the fourth level of the baseball stadium after a rain delay in an Aug. 12 game between the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies. Police have said Homer, of Conyers, Ga., landed in the players' parking lot.

we had an 84-0 win last year and there was all this whining and baseless accusations. its 2013 in america and this is what happens.

aledo is a powerhouse prep team and the team they played is probably a bunch of forgotten ghetto dallas kids. theres literally nothing anyone can do. the thing is uil doesnt have a mercy rule for football (they do for baseball and softball)

Watched the U and the AI trial one last night. The U one was good but it got repetitive. The AI one was good and I get the theme but I wish they would have spent a little time on his playing career. His mom is ghetto trash.

The bad boys one is my favorite so far. Gonna watch jimmy the Greek...kings ransom (Gretzky) la one...Ali/Frazier and a few others.

1. they have penalty flags
2. they have power plays
3. 3 dudes on each team stand at the 50 yard line and do nothing while action is going on in the far part of the field
4. dude bro frat douches
5. both schools are diverse and there wasnt 1 brother in sight
6. the coaches are so over the top screaming an assistant football coach from texas told them to chill
7. the players beat the shtein out of each other but one dude got pushed so its a penalty? i dont understand their rules

RANKINGS!!  LISTS!!

Philly fans may be notorious for booing, but they certainly have nothing to complain about when it comes to their teams' uniforms (including the 76ers' new set, which hasn't yet appeared on the court but looks very promising). From team to team, from top to bottom, not a stinker in the bunch. And the city's score will go even higher if the Eagles ever make the much-anticipated return to kelly green.

UNI WATCH SCORE: Phillies: 9.5, Eagles: 8, 76ers: 8, Flyers: 8. UNI: 8.38

i def agree with that on the home jerseys...im not a big pinstrips guy but it works even less than normal when its bright red on bright white...something about the P bothers me too...like the script on the hillies is very cool then theres a big ugly p that seems to be in a different font or something

when the same phillies red is on gray its looks so much better....id grade their road jerseys as a B+

Now you have to throw someone through a plate glass window!

I like the Phils homes. The funny thing is red isn't a color I normally like and I do prefer the maroon but I think the cherry red and crisp white is right. I don't like Cincy and I especially don't like that Cincy wears black shoes with it. Love black shoes on uniforms but not red and white.

I don't mind the roadies saying Phillies because unless the font was changed saying Philadelphia looks weird. I saw a pic once when they apparently considered it and it didn't work at all.

The 1989-1992 road gray and maroon are nice.

Mets home unis are nice. Love blue and orange.

Orioles home and away are great

Dodgers homes are clean

I like the Mariners dark blue and teal. Too bad they don't still use the 1994 teal hat

I would suspend them for the year no questions asked. I don't care if it's just high school that was absolutely horrible tackling form. And the second guy in should have been called for spearing with the crown of the helmet (except I guess the guy wasn't able to find his whistle). You just can't preach fundamentals enough.

Well then he can get some of the criminal charges should they be filed - and I hope they are.

Also read that one of the kids who hit the ref wasn't immediately ejected and stayed in on the next play...where he then drew an unsportsmanlike call for hitting the QB.

just a coincidence i think...this was a clearance as in they were literally taking shtein off the shelves from stores in malls...my shtein came from concord mall in wilmington, potomoac mills in VA, montgomery mall, some mall in pottstown, etc.

i mean maybe but i don't know what that has to do with lidz. i got a sixers hat that came from potomac mills. the whole sale seemed to be to clean off shelves in stores.

why is baseball the only sport where fans get loud while your team is on offense? is it just because it doesn't matter? i would imagine it's even harder to hit a major league fastball with your ears ringing. my guess is that baseball fans are just idiots but i'm honestly curious if there is physical or psychological reason.

Yeah, this hasn't been a secret. Frequent source of fantasy football commentary. I do find it difficult to wrap my head around a guy six months younger than me having already knocked up the same woman 8 times. I imagine that whenever I see him angry on the field, he goes home and hate-fargs another kid into the baby factory he calls his wife.

Fully agree on the US/Canada game.  Lots of fun to watch, just to see the tourney ended by a farging shootout.  That game deserved to be decided playing hockey rather than a skills competition.

I think if you showed that graphic to a neutral sports fan 10 years ago, the three that would stand out are the Eagles, Cubs, and Cleveland getting championships. And of those were all incredible sports watching too.

They would probably have some questions about the Dubs and Patriots too.

Also I totally forgot that the Giants won 3 WS this decade. wtf.

Since this morning the NHL Network had the 1980 Game 6 Finals on (Flyers lost), MLB Network had the 2009 World Series Game 6 (Phils lost) and now Faux Sports has SB XXXIX on (Eagles lost).

Can't make this shtein up.

We just had this exact conversation at my buddies house this past week. The Oilers team was the most talented team in organized sports history.

Swear to god we talked about the islanders dynasty jamming up a flyers S.C. then the oilers. The RW and BH were also dominant and won multiple S.C. No excuse for the Flyers not winning in 50 years but they ran into some great teams.

We were talking about Hextall winning the Conn Smythe even though the flyers lost. Someone mentioned it's only happened one other time and one of the guys in our fantasy league who's known as the complainer shouts a name out. Nobody believed him but sure enough another flyer won the CS on the losing team. It's actually happened 3 times in history. Without an internet search can you name the flyer?

Great job

These guys are 6 years older than me and only one of them could drop that knowledge. They're long time season ticket holders too.

Phillies were my first love. I idolized Schmidt (played 3rd, wore #20)...then I met him and he was a complete jerkoff

Used to coach football (6-8 year olds) 25 years ago (2 championships in 3 years). One of my best friends son plays QB for the team I used to coach. First game was today against Liberty Bell. We played Liberty Bell during our first championship run in 95', they were good but we beat them pretty bad. Their coaches felt we were running the score up on us. They told one of the parents on our team they're friends with they wanted to fight us lol.

Fast forward to this mornings game. LB went down by a TD in the 3rd. Their coaches kept mouthing at the refs about holding and "targeting" (these kids couldn't target if they tried). We get word games over, refs left because Liberty Bells coaches wouldn't stop running their mouths. Then their coach threatened to not have his kids shake hands because he said our team played dirty but I think his teams parents have him shtein.

Anyway little league football has really changed. Coaches are on the field the entire game and techniques, fundamentals and discipline are non existent.

I worked out at the gym for the first time since the pandemic started.  On the way there this mornig I saw a bunch of soccer games going on at the park across the street.  Great!  Games are back, fans are watching, awesome!  So after my workout I drove past the park to check it out and all these little kids games have two or three coaches out on the field.  WTF!  If they're to young to understand and figure it out on their own maybe it's best they start when they're 10.  Watching these little 4-5 years old running around in fugure 8 patterns was ridiculous.  Go to the playground or the park with your pop or brother and kick, catch , toss the ball.  And yes SD these panzy ass coaches who make it all about them and their hurt ego.  This is why most kids burn out - start um' way to young and A Hole agro coaches & parents.  So many of the seniors we coach in soccer at high school level are burnt out by the pressure of club and travel teams.  We have coached probably close to 120 different boys the past 8 years, we tell the parents and boys 5 out of that 120 have gone on to play at the college level.  Do the math folks, odds aren't in your favor, so let's work hard, STFU, and let's have some fun.

My daughters softball team qualified for an 8 team tournament (it's a big farging deal locally). They seeded 2nd, games are all played today, you win you move on you lose you go home. They make it to the championship. Our team was up 7 runs, the opposing coaches get into with the Ump for who knows what farging reason...ump calls the game the other coach says fine I'll leave and let one of my assistants coach. He goes in the stands and the ump says leave the field or games called, so he goes to the top of this hill. Other coach gets into with the field ump. They were jawing at each other. Then the other teams parents starting jawing at the refs. Our pitcher stopped mid batter, infielders came in, she called the field ump over, the field ump yelled at the other teams parents to shut up. We didn't know what happened until after the game but the parents were giving our pitcher shtein for cheering. The girls 13 , extremely talented and one of the nicest girls you'll ever meet. Anyway we won, my daughter walked, K'd, singled and scored 2 runs...farg lower south.

youth sports parents by and large are morons. I coached one year and one year only.

I ask myself on the daily how people can do xxx and it seems like xxx gets worse as time moves on. There is a case here in Houston that'll prob be national news soon. I'll post the link in the general section. One that has truly farged my brain up. And I used to work on death row and read what those guys did.

Had a friend who coached girls' gymnastics. From what I heard I think that must weigh in near the top for dysfunction. The crippling psychological damage of both the kids and the parents was often on full display.

My daughter had a soccer tournament today. Her team stinks but it's exercise and she enjoys the camaraderie. The last team they played were allowed to enter the tournament using older girls for some odd reason and they were clearly better. The other team was taking cheap shots...one girl in particular. A lot of the girls on my daughters team didn't want to play because the refs weren't doing shtein about it. My daughter took tae Kwon do and competed in a bunch of tournaments so rough play doesn't bother her. The girl on the other team grabbed my daughters best friend by the hair and pulled her down. Refs actually caught it. Next time down the field my daughter body checked the cheap shot artist into the middle of next week. The other team immediately ceased with the cheap shots. I've never been so proud.

Man every year for like 20 years I've placed a bet on the biggest underdog to win the derby.

I didn't even realize the derby was yesterday so didn't place any bets.  What a run though that was wild.

My girl was legit pissed bc we didn't have time to get all the bets in we wanted and the only one she ever does is the biggest underdog. We got home at like 545 yesterday so I was rushing to get the tri's and supers in. When we go to Sam Houston Park here from time to time she always lays $25 on the biggest dog.

That hurt.

I broken even with having 10 come in top five.
