Quoteeach student had to submit a "problem puzzle," a real-life situation from their workplace, before class started. Brooks' submission asked how he should talk to a younger player about concussions.
"Brandon's going to do really good things," Rude said.
Rude has taught one other NFL player: Kevin Donnalley, a former Houston Oiler. Donnalley's problem puzzle asked how the team should handle the defensive coordinator taking a swing at the offensive coordinator on the sideline during a game.
Ha!
Side note, Kevin Gilbride was the Giants OC just a couple of years ago.

Would have preferred Allen at this price or getting a Guard in the draft but overall they upgraded so I'm happy about that
$11M signing bonus (cap hit of $2.2M/year)
2016 = $1M (fully guaranteed)
2017 = $5M (fully guaranteed) + $250K bonus for Pro Bowl
2018 = $8.5M ($4M guaranteed in March 2018) + $500K bonus for Pro Bowl
2019 = $7.5M + $750K bonus for Pro Bowl
2020 = $7M + $1M bonus for Pro Bowl
go ed go!
Not a bad structure
So they just need one more G now and maybe Bradford can stay alive this season. If given time in the pack, I can see Bradford having a good season.
no team in the nfl has five great lineman...would I love a rookie draft pick guard to step up and grab a job...certainly....but if its lane peters kelce brooks and barbre im totally good
Problem is Peters is more likely than not to be hurt a good bit, not to mention other injuries along the line and they have little depth to protect a frail QB who doesn't get rid of the ball quickly (though maybe with the WCO they will get back to emphasizing hot receivers, screens etc). On the other hand they obviously need a couple of years minimum to rebuild to a deep playoff potential despite Howies impressive exorcism of Chip's ghosts, so they can't do it all at once. I'm still uncomfortable without an upgrade to Barbre in there, though.
Yep, Peters' health scares me almost as much as the depth on the OL
QuoteO'BRIEN ON BROOKS
Texans coach Bill O'Brien had glowing things to say about guard Brandon Brooks, who the Eagles signed to a five-year, $40 million contract two weeks ago.
"They're getting a big, big guy -- a guy that has some versatility," O'Brien said of his former player. "He can play different positions. He's a right guard, but he can play tackle in a pinch. He can play center. ... He's, in my opinion, a prototypical guard. He can drive block, he can pass protect three-techniques that are athletic guys. He can pull. He's smart."
So why didn't the Texans, who replaced Brooks with free agent Jeff Allen, retain him?
"Well, I think we tried to," O'Brien said. "We wanted him back. They won the bidding war. We wanted him back."
haha
QuoteBrandon Brooks said he suffers from anxiety. It's from his obsession with football, he said. He is receiving treatment.

Does this happen to other NFL teams? It's like Shawn Andrews again
nope....the eagles and only the eagles could ever have a player who loves football so much he can't bring himself to play it

Oh...well then that solves it!
Maybe he and Agholar should found a self help group. They could meet on Sunday afternoons in a church basement.

Signed to a 4 year extension. Probably the most underrated player on the team
comeback player of the year for the whole NFL?
Good on him. He's a monster and one oft he best guards in the league.

There's a QB back from a torn ACL with a perfect record.

This season he is arguably the best player on the team, not just most underrated.
I don't know who you would argue is playing better on this team.

AlSean Aghollins
How bad is Mack Hollins that he still doesn't have more yards than DeSean Jackson?
Excellent move. Brooks is awesome
Apparently Brooks left the game because of a return of his anxiety. (https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/brandon-brooks-anxiety-reportedly-returns-forcing-him-out-sundays-game?fbclid=IwAR3DYmXUvDS1mu6JEWVunBnelpNWrutUy_JnPgMAN3elBCGx1mC8j8sWjFA)
:-\
At least his brain goblins are easier to figure out than the ones everyone else on the offense has.

That's what I told my dad during the game. No Lane = anxiety.
Not a bad theory. Anxiety can definitely be triggered when a familiar situation suddenly becomes unfamiliar.
Hopefully he can get past it.
He was off his game last week too, after being amazing all season.
Oh great. This sounds, well, very interesting.
Shawn Andrews wasn't anxiety was he? Wasn't he just plain whacko?

#Eagles G Brandon Brooks, who left today's game in a cart suffered a dislocated shoulder that was popped back into place, source said. He'll have scans tomorrow to learn the damage and his status for this weekend is uncertain.
Done for the year.

shtein.
Pryor did play well but losing Brooks sucks. Hopefully Lane can come back.
meh starters are overrated.
I can't believe he's out with shoulder separation anxiety.
Torn Achilles again
Done for the year
Finally, some football news.
I guess Matt Pryor fills in. Their OL depth is bad.
the other option is bring back JP, move seamalu to RG and have either peters or dillard move inside
they probably dont want to take dillard off tackle, but i would doubt hall of famer jason peters moving inside for some beta male Hoyda from washington
I think JP does it to have a job.
But JFC can this team have a season when their starters aren't fargin dead?
I wonder if he injured it doing his MMA training?
They just did a story about it a few days ago.
And it's just unreal how snakebitten this team is. I mean every team has injuries but the Eagles sure seem particularly susceptible to them.
do people really care about this season...farging whole team could go down and id be fine...they shouldnt even be playing to begin with and im not even sure they will when the rona goes ham in the fall
Article I read said the injury occurred at Eagles facility, where injured players have been training.

he couldve had a job...he wants to be the lt for the eagles
hes not moving inside. you move inside for jason peters.
Zero chance JP moves inside. It would be physically detrimental for him to drive block low with his back. I was less than impressed with Dillard last season. JP is adequate when he's healthy but when he's laboring get him out because he's useless. Broken record but not sure why the birds didn't pursue Jack Conklin, he's a budding star at LT and signed at a reasonable deal. What a shtein offseason
I've always wondered about the Conklin thing, too. He plays right tackle so he or Meathead would have to move over to the left. But I think it mostly came down to resources. Eagles moved up in the first for Dillard and they are in poor cap shape to boot, so they didn't want to invest there. They ended up blowing their wad on Hargraves instead. Maybe there's a hidden reason the Titan's didn't exercise his 5th year option or maybe the Eagles are higher on Dillard than most.
howie might be high on him because it would be a disastrous pick if he didnt pan out but i cant imagine the eagles as a whole are too high on him...
he was a calamity last year and they essentially benched him for the entire second half of the season and they havent had an off season
im not saying they have given up on him but there isnt a single thing to be high on him about at this point
Sadly the injuries have caught up to him.
DGunn is saying he's going to retire
Sucks that he did absolutely nothing on that contract. Was a beast when he was healthy.
He's a champ, and took anxiety recognition to the next level. Birds fans will love this dude forever.
gonna love him even more when they find out hes staying in the city and enrolling at penn post career
