Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: ice grillin you on February 27, 2010, 10:35:36 AM
it deserves to be mentioned that phreak could be the greatest fantasy player ever...no matter what league hes in and what place in that league hes in he continhues to march on

currently 37.5 games out of first in our nba league...today he dropped an injured tony parker for jr smith

people like this should be appreciated because a lot of douches would have just given up and not even be putting in lineups much less making moves

hooray for j
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy

Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: MDS on April 09, 2011, 09:18:14 PM
so my boy is playing whatever his name is in the nba finals. 6-5 right now and very close.

tiebreaker would be head to head regular season record. it went 3-9 my boy, 9-3 dude, 6-6 tie. so thats even.

second and final tiebreaker is higher playoff seed, which goes to the other guy.

so that could decide the title...a tiebreaker of having the higher playoff seed.

Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: MDS on April 09, 2012, 05:44:07 PM
so for the second year in a row im getting killed on games played in the playoffs and 2 of my best players are injured (batum, kobe). terrific.

also im assuming this pos league is winner take all, right. cause i came in first. in real fantasy leagues that normally gives you a lil somtin somtin
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: reese125 on April 09, 2012, 06:51:58 PM
if nicholas batum is one of your 2nd best player you should be kicked out of the league
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on April 09, 2012, 08:32:21 PM
I suck at NBA fantasy...two in a row with no playoffs.
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: phattymatty on April 11, 2012, 11:52:03 PM
as usual, i'm in the playoffs by not making a single transaction the entire season.

it's not laziness, it's just that i'm a draftmaster.

i've been in the finals for football (won), baseball (lost) and basketball (will win) this year, making the least transactions in the entire league.

if anyone wants to learn the secret to an amazing draft, i am taking applications.
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: MDS on April 12, 2012, 01:15:22 AM
unless you were in a different baseball league i beat qtown johnny in the final

and im almost certain i will beat you in the final in nba. that is if kobe gets his ass back.
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: phattymatty on April 12, 2012, 10:39:22 AM

Title: Re: NBA Fantasy

Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: MDS on April 15, 2012, 12:04:59 AM
2 years in a row half my team gets injured just as the playoffs hit. unbelievable. farg this. im farging done with nba.
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: ice grillin you on April 15, 2012, 09:32:18 AM
to bad you pushed to have the waiver pick up limit introduced

really tho there was no chance you were beating brett....he is the nba fantasy master....think this will be four out of the last five years for him...funny thing is he doesnt watch and knows very little about the league....not that that really matters in fantasy but im almost positive he knows something about doing lineups in yahoo fantasy that no one else does

Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: ice grillin you on September 29, 2012, 10:52:32 AM
we def have a spot regardless if you want in....but you know this is a daily exercise...its not like football where you can spend one day a week making your moves and lineup....anyway if you are up to a full time job ill def hit you up with the sign in 411
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: Diomedes on September 29, 2012, 11:06:37 AM
Daily my ass.  phatty makes the playoffs annually without doing shtein.

But yeah, I know it's a lot more involved.  I last played in '04 in a work league and it was a good time.  My $20 will surely be a loss, but like I said, I like basketball so it will give me more reason to watch and follow if I have some skin in the game.

Isn't the entrance info listed three posts above?  Or is that old?

im not gonna cancel it in mid draft

I lost power at 5 of 8 no joke. You were online and saw my post at 8:07

So if 3 people lost power during the draft they automatically go on auto draft and the draft continues?

What are weekly player adds?  You can add and drop four guys each week?

i'm sure he just hasn't changed his lineup since we drafted.

what are you confused about? you can change your lineup every day...or more likely just do it once at the beginning of the week for the rest of the week.

and yeah we can add or drop 4 players per week.
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on October 30, 2012, 10:06:53 PM
And Varejao had 23 board tonight
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: reese125 on October 31, 2012, 02:11:28 PM
Somebody explain to me how the scoring works here. Under scoring and settings tab it just shows what category is accounted for with no point system assigned to each category

Garnett had 9 points 12 boards 2 assists and 2 blocks but only has 10 total points. Even with fg% and free throw % added how does that  equate to only 10 points?
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: phattymatty on October 31, 2012, 02:18:52 PM
the points column is his actual points scored in the game. there are 10 categories...pts, assists, boards, etc. they are all added up at the end of the week. so the final scored will always be a head to head record of the 10 categories. 0-10 to 10-0.

EDIT - Just looked, you are leading 10-0 because you're beating the other team in all 10 categories because the other team hasn't had anyone play yet.

This is the first time I've ever heard of a league where you don't get paid until months after the game ends; Nothing was said about the payout being delayed until after memorial day.

Don't be such a trifling bitch.  Shut up and pay the man.

Nothing was said about the payout being delayed until after memorial day.

lol...how did i know the whiny hispter would chime in...nothing needs to be said dope....the money is sent when its all collected...we are playing for pennies

the winner never usually gets paid until at minimum the finals start for any sport we do shtein i dont think the football checks went out this year until april and that was $1200 first place...i knew a complaining reese wasnt far away so i even posted a few weeks ago not to worry no one has forgot about him because i knew the whining was coming....apparently that didnt help

in an ideal world everyone would pay when the season starts....but that happens once in a blue moon....these are 25 dollar leagues...not exactly an amount of money that stays on the front of peoples minds...so to everyone that plays its not a big deal if its not paid immediately or even a month or so into the playoffs....these are not $200 entry football leagues where the payout is significant some people...these are leagues that are about playing not winning

i mean christ if the timing of a payout of less than a couple hundred bucks is that serious then you probably shouldnt be spending your hard earned money on fantasy leagues in the first place...i mean what the farg is it to pay the utility bill?
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy

Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: reese125 on June 04, 2013, 06:51:52 PM
Dio is great i love it.

I don't play to just to play-I play to win. the shtein could be bocce ball--if theres money on it I'm playing to win. principles regarding payout still apply regardless.....that's the point and has been the point in any league I've ever been in. you play by a diff set of rules which is fine--just let the guys who don't know your leagues not to worry that youll be paid at or near a major holiday  then you avoid this shtein.

if I was really a jonesing cheap prick I would have harassed you 2 weeks out of the finals. I just wanted some free pocket change-so do what you like with it. go to Fridays, get you're cute little umbrella drink with it whatever....hell take a picture with your homies holding the money in a dive bar and post it...either way I'll still laugh.

15 years of doing online leagues

nfl
nba
nhl
mlb
ncaa tourney
ncaa bowl pool

probably missing a few others

thats give or take a 100 leagues....a few times ive had people not pay their entry fees....or ive had to cover people out of pocket and they paid me back later....but this is the first time ive ever had a winner complain....which also makes dio the first person to ever complain about money they didnt win

congrats douches

your money will go in the mail the day after the nba finals end....once you receive and cash your check consider that also a severance package from our leagues....this was my mistake from the get....dealing with douchebaggery is not worth a hundred bucks

i choked hard and am going to lose the tie breaker

true story: willy cauley stein needed an offensive rebound for me to win and had one in his hands with 7 seconds left in the game but bobbled it out of bounds

yahoo ripped my opponent off....he doesnt know this but they somehow did give me an extra offensive rebound which allowed me to tie him in that category and win...i was watching the last game of the day in real time and cauley stein did not get one

Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: ice grillin you on March 20, 2017, 08:07:08 PM
first one is regular season h2h

the second one is laughable...whoever is the higher seed wins..lol
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: MDS on March 20, 2017, 11:47:18 PM
ill never understand why they dont offer better tiebreakers in their system...after h2h you should pick the category (like say, fg%) that you want to be the breaker
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: ice grillin you on March 21, 2017, 08:31:19 AM
i would do better record against playoff teams or even better record against the highest place finisher from the regular season and work your way down the standings...at least thats not totally random like an individual stat is...overall record is also skewed because of the teams at the bottom of the league who stop playing half way thru the season...if you do records against other playoff teams its legit

I have no idea how scoring works but I'm assuming this is category and not points.
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: phattymatty on October 19, 2021, 10:38:54 AM
yeah there are 9 categories so the stats add up for each and you'll have a head to head record each week between 0-9 and 9-0.

I thought I made it weekly roster changes, meaning you have to set your lineup for the whole week by Sunday night, but it looks like it's daily.  so if you forget Sunday you're not screwed.  I'll prob just keep it this way unless anyone cares.

probably a bad choice to do this league this year lol.  basically a coin flip on whether you have 5 plus guys on the IR at any given time.

haha no.  we're all in the same boat.  my top six players were out for 2 weeks straight.

honestly all anyone needs to do is make the playoffs, then it's a coin flip as to who happens to have a healthy team that week.

Sorry man didn't think to check here.  I'm down with doubling the entry, let me shoot an email out.

Yo nerds we got once open spot now in our league.  $100 entry, 10 person league.  Probably 75/25 to 1st and 2nd or maybe 70/20/10 to 1st-2nd-regular season best record.  Last spot will likely be taken up today so lemme know if you want in.

Playoff Tie-Breaker:   Best regular season record vs opponent wins

pretty weak tiebreaker system lol but I guess that's the default.
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: SD on March 13, 2023, 09:44:45 AM
Tied 192 in rebounds, 1 assist away, 2 blocks and .014 away in those categories. Nuts
Title: Re: NBA Fantasy
Post by: phattymatty on March 13, 2023, 10:54:41 AM
I still can't tell whether that tie breaker was regular season wins total (which you had 2 more of) or if it was head-to-head wins.

head to head would make more sense for the playoffs but I'm not sure I've ever seen a playoff tie in 10 years so who knows.
