I didn't even remember that MNF was a possibility, and made plans for that evening. Seriously considering not cancelling.

So far this season nflbite has held up as a reliable source. Granted, I've been home for like four games this year, but still.

With ABC broadcasting MNF games, and other schedule peculiarities, I've been able to watch all but I think three games on free teevee.  That was fun for the first part of the season.

5 games are all under $100 get in. KC is under $40, mostly because of the wind chill.

the outlier? detroit

Why move a snow game, but not a deadly cold game?  Does holding a game during a snow storm present such a significantly greater risk to public health and safety than holding one in sub-zero temps with high winds?

I could understand if both games were moved.

Snow and ice kills people going to and from the game. Just cold isn't going to do that. I doubt people at Arrowhead will be dying of exposure during the game. If you start to feel the reaper's icy grip, it's probably time for a walk on the concourse.

Cleveland's defense being leaky is a bit surprising.

Hope the Texans make a playoff run

If the Eagles aren't going gimme Texans and Lions SB

because staging a game in a blizzard is a waste of resources and a risk to public safety. roads need to be clear, emergency personnel needs to be handling that. cant have 60k people congregating for a football game and wasting resources.

a cold game is just cold

Mahomes may be the biggest on field whiner in the league.

He'd give nba players a run for their money when they bitch about fouls every play

Miamis defense with so many guys out has done a decent job.

Their offense wants no part of this though. Minus the Hill bomb they've got like six first downs and under a hundred yards

its infuriating...hes like the spoiled rich kid who cant function when every single solitary thing doesnt go his way. and shtein when the refs are stopping the game for him to get his precious helmet, yea. no wonder

mike mcdaniel with an absolute dud. their patchwork d keeping the chiefs to under 30 and his offense nowhere to be found

Yep.

He whines about everything. His wife wore off on him.

And McDaniels has called a horrid game.

Highlights of the night were Mahomes helmet breaking and Big Red's mustache growing icicles.

Normally right to be cautious but Dak is playing like his uniform pants are filled up with diarrhea. He has to get unbroken if they have any chance to mount a comeback.

right inbetween the number for the game the last 2 years. really no drop off. yes it wouldve done better on nbc, but that doesnt matter.

the good news is the league has all playoff games contracted out except for 1 wild card game per year. so if it continues to happen, itll only be 1 game and amazon feels likely to reach the ratings parameters they needed to get that game.

Stafford somehow looks ready to come back in despite getting smoked (no roughing called) and being dazed.

If Mahomes got hit like he did the DT would be sent to Gitmo

mcvay punting there was just asinine

first off on 3rd and long there you get yards and set up 4th. even on a 4th and long, you go. its 20/30 yards of field position on the backend when you have plenty of time to navigate. terrible.

bills/steelers drew 31M at 4pm on mlk day...really strong number

next year WC weekend doesnt fall on mlk weekend, so it wont happen. but its an idea to either get rid of the sat 430 spot and move to this, or go to 2 games sunday at 3/630 and then the 2 games monday. the league cant lose, basically.
Title: Re: Wild Card Weekend - 2023
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on January 18, 2024, 06:19:47 PM
So the Texans would be relegated to the early spot on that day.
Title: Re: Wild Card Weekend - 2023
Post by: MDS on January 18, 2024, 06:41:36 PM
the issue with having 2 monday games is they would both have to be 4/5 matchups. so the networks would have to be flexible as to who airs that game since sometimes the 4/5 is going to feature the texans and sometimes its going be dallas.

unlikely they make any changes to the set up except for maybe moving the monday game earlier when it does fall on mlk. no need to do a night game when people are off.
