I would say Dallas but that would be too expensive and too soon.

Plus, Graceland is around the corner somewhere in those woods.

graceland is in memphis.

but yeah, i'll probably be down though.  depends on cost of airfare.  i think nashville's a bit pricey to fly into.

IGY, you 100% on Jacksonville?  I think my dad/bro/and i are going from the sounds of it.  Though Nashville is a much more appealing destination since they'll have fans.  Free room and board is an easy sell on the wifey for Jville.
Title: Re: Nashville Roadie
Post by: ice grillin you on April 28, 2010, 07:11:02 PM
less fans is better...you can guarantee as many seats as you want and they will all be together...and the best reason of all no fans means a huge eagle takeover

im 99.9% IN

word, i've bitched out before, but getting to see my family and getting to takeover a stadium means we're in. Bro will be back from the islands by august, and pops wants to go

$53 bucks a ticket is pretty good.

I just looked up flights... from Ontario to Nashville....$361 roundtrip with one stop on each leg.

There's no way I'm getting a room with Sarge though...Ich bin loven meine lung capacity.

I'm interested.

Flights are reasonable, its a short flight....

I could see me going.

Go to game, scratch balls, eat a burrito. That order.

I am going to Vegas two weeks after this, so I'm OUT.  You are all really upset.  I will scratch my balls a lot between now and then.  The burrito situation is TBD.

Title: Re: Nashville Roadie
Post by: rjs246 on August 11, 2010, 07:57:33 PM
So I am now almost 100% in for this. It has nothing to do with FF's bailing out, though that would be more entertaining. This road trip should represent the culmination of a 2 week vacation that I am taking from real life. I'll be nice and useless by the time the game rolls around.

don't encourage FF, even if he does occasionally hit on one, just laugh offline and be done with it.  giving him any sort of positive reinforcement leads to weeks and weeks of nonsense

Title: Re: Nashville Roadie
Post by: rjs246 on August 16, 2010, 09:14:57 AM
For real, I've never done a hotel search for a (semi) major city and seen so many places with $50 rooms and 1-star ratings. If I get lice, I want to get them wet humping someone else's girlfriend.
Title: Re: Nashville Roadie
Post by: DH on August 16, 2010, 09:35:13 AM
I'm more concerned about the hotel's proximity to a meth house. I think typically you want to be > 100 yards from one so when it blows up you are both safe from the flying debris and close enough to loot for any drugs that survived the blast. shtein, I love Tennessee.
Title: Re: Nashville Roadie

if you spend $50 per night for a room, you can be sure the methlab is across the hall

Ok, here's the deal......

I'm pretty much limited to buying tickets in groups of 4 and the groups are somewhat scattered.....can't find a big group of tickets that are all in the same row, but I think we can get everyone into the same section, or at least neighboring sections at worst.

The count so far:

Sarge (2)
Chuggie (2)
Die Hard (2 - maybe 4)
Phatty (1)
Rusty (1)
Thawk (1)
SD (2)
Total: 11 - possibly 13

Demon is also in but already bought his tickets.

As for hotels, I did a quick search and found a Howard Johnson (http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/from=f/shtl=1/fgds=0/favl=0/htsd=0/flag=1/fsam=1/htid=4831/ihtl=0/smgt=3/crti=0/rfrr=-30461/itdx=/itid=/itty=/hwrq=EX0148F71701DNGD1101003q002$2Cq$9CpS$CDc$DB$40$10L$A2$24$AE$ED$FE$40$9F$40$87$1ETwe$0EP$10$8A$91$219v$8C$91$1B$0A$A5W$D6$D2$D8$DAI$DAVlBLy$8B$7D$CEX$F4R$FA2$A5$D0F$2F$85D$5F$A0g$E0$CE$C8Ow$D2$85pl$BF$9D$F9l$BE$99$F9$ED$38$5B$CE$EBg$FB$85R$3E$5C$E5$10T$E1$C3$2B$3F$BA$F2F$98$8A$A8$F2$33$B0LN$C1$FA$89IE$FD$18$26$CA$9F$1D$7Cz$C7!2$C2$8B7R$B1$40$E1$F33L$39P$AC$7C$0F$FF$1E$CD$DB$27!2$1C$C2p1$16$8F$E6$EE$C8$8C$AB$9B$A6$B3KG$DB$5D$83yy$E8$B8T$C7x$D0$EB$9B$DB$95$26$27$DB$60$FBjq$31p$AC$AFp$7C$F3y$CB$F9$38$FBP$D7$9D$DE$B8$2Fw$B1$D3$D9$EF$F0d$0AD$B4$9AoD$8D$DA$89q$37$C1B$2B$BF7$A8$DB$93$16$DF$CC$17k$B6DPw$AE$24$CE$0F$3AT$CE$2Dp$8E$EB$DA$2DEu$BC$19$D7$1A$0A3$0A$83UEV$7B$EC$8D$12$5D$9E$89$7C$E5$3E$32$B3$F2L$E29$E6$31Je$3A$5Byt$86$9859U$17S$91$A8$C7$3F$7F$7Cp$B2$5BW$17Q$A3$7F$BE$D4$24$28$CC$BD$5C7$22$83P$9B$FE$11$26$F6$3E$EBUA$ADQo$5FB2$A5L$8Bb$3D$5D$2A$A4$ED$0D$84Ki$32K$81$33$18$A11$C0H$86$C4$8A$ABE$D4$C8G$DB$1F$24$17$7CgW$CAS$A7$F1$E2$F0$7F$82$97$DE$3BW$8AI2$E8$C8$D5$81$D8$AB$C3$AD$A7$27$5E$373!2$23$C1$1CM$AE2$1D$33$AB$1B$96$24$F8$F9$AEXtJ$8B$7F$3C$CB$23$AC$EEx$8DW$97$AC$11$EF$DA$2Fn$BA$AEF$EB$BDW$38$34$32$13$A6$BA$3E$E0NG$C6$93$B5$5Ft$A8$A5$C2$B0E$E1$B4z$9F$D1$0D$B5$CE$D6F$B6$DB$8D$8B$14$2D$F5l$27$D0$85$C2$1A$F6$1An$A8$B9$EE$5B$19$DB$A3$F9$93hC$8FaIG$D5UF$D4$10$0CVv$FDF$B3$3B$85.$B5$E7$16$0C$21$EE$D2th$AD$FA$C9t$B3$A9$BF$1C$E9$3B1$2D$9E1$AA8$15$A9$BA$D5$34$CA$EA$DE$93$EF$3F$95$93MY) for $50/night.  I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a bed to pass out in.  But it got decent reviews in terms of cleanliness and it's only 4 miles from the stadium and is close to downtown as well.

Also, this was the first user review that I read:

QuoteWhile the room was comfortable and clean, we were on the side adjacent to a very active and noisy night club, open into the wee hours every morning. On one night, there were even people soliciting directly in the motel parking lot.

Adjacent to a night club and has flesh peddlers in the parking lot?  In.

Also, myself and Chuggie may possibly turn this into a road trip, in which case I'll handle all the tailgating responsibilities since I'll be driving my truck and can bring my grill, coolers, etc.  Will just need everyone to kick in a few bucks for everything.

Food is tbd but will likely revolve around burgers, dogs and brats, etc, etc.  Of course, if anyone has special requests, I'll be more than happy to pick it up at the store.  I doubt I will lug a couch half way across the country.  However, should you hook up with another geriatric while we're in town, I would be willing to swing by her retirement villa and pick up her Craftmatic so that you and Chuggie can cuddle.

Tickets (http://www.ticketexchangebyticketmaster.com/NFL/InventoryBrowse/Philadelphia-Eagles-at-Tennessee-Titans-Tickets-at-LP-Field-in-Nashville?PID=973432)

Found a group of 12 tickets for $66 each + $9.90 service charge + $2.90 tax = $78.80/ticketSection 326 (upper level, corner end zone, Titans side  :boo), Row R (12th row).

Seating Chart (http://www.titansonline.com/stadium/seating-chart.html)

This is the largest group I've been able to find.  If Die Hard needs 4 tickets, we'll either have to keep looking or he'll have to purchase his tickets seperately.  DH, there are 4 tickets available in the same section (Row Z) for $81 each.  I need a yes from everyone that they are good with these tickets before I buy.

In.

Title: Re: Nashville Roadie
Post by: Sgt PSN on September 26, 2010, 03:00:16 PM
Luckily for you, no.  That group of 12 tix was gone like the next day or day after and I've been searching around trying to find some large groups at reasonable prices without much luck.  Actually, I saw those 12 tickets are still available, but they've been broken up into pairs and went up about $30 per ticket.....probably some douche scalper type a-hole bought them and split them up.

Looking like we'll have to go with a couple small groups of tickets now......unless everyone wants to get tix on their own.  I've seen quite a few out there at reasonable prices, but they're pretty much just single tickets or maybe a pair of tix.

This is true as I'm pretty much never 100% committed to roadies that require me to take time off of work until the last possible minute.....it's the curse of being a gov't slave.  San Diego was a piece of cake for me last year since that was just a day trip.  Of course, had I found that first group of tickets a day or 2 sooner, I would have gotten confirmation from everyone in time to buy.  C'est la vie.

I'm gonna slice you up into bitch-a-roni.

There's still a bunch of tickets in the same area of the stadium ranging from $55-70 each....but mostly only available as singles or pairs.  Looks like most of them are available in sections 306 and 307.

I'd say get whatever tix you guys want and we can still have a group tailgate before the game.  Chuggie already told me he's not able to take the time off to do the road trip but I think I still will as long as I can get enough time off of work so I can still handle the tailgate responsibilities.

My leave got approved last week so I'm officially in.

I'll be arriving in Nashville on Friday before the game and will be bringing a grill and a cooler or 2.  How much does everyone feel like spending per person on the tailgate?  What the hell do you hooligans want to eat?  Burgers, dogs, etc or something a little more fancy schmancy?

Beer preferences?  I know Rusty's going to want Miller Lite.  18 pack?  Case?  Truck?

While we're on the subject, do any of yous have one of those power converters that plugs into a cigarette lighter and convert to a/c power?  If so, and if you could bring it, that'd be good.

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale is their oktoberfest beer...it's VERY pumpkin-y, and i don't like pumpkin so I don't like it. But if you like pumpkin, you'll like it.

The other Dogfish Head I've seen at Total Wine but never picked up. Here's what the website says..

QuoteA modern update on a 9th century Finnish proto-beer.
Brewed with rye, we caramelize the wort with white hot river rocks, then ferment it with a German Weizen yeast. In addition to juniper berries foraged directly from the Finnish country-side we added a sort of tea made with black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and black pepper.

The spicing is subtle and balanced and Sahtea is a highly-quaffable, truly-unique brew with a full-mouth feel.

The Sah'tea was first brewed at our small brewery in the Rehoboth Beach brewpub. The brew was chronicled in The New Yorker article by Burkhard Bilger in the fall of 2008.

For 'The Story Behind The Story' of our Sah'tea, check out our Quick Sip Clip about Sah'tea below. To get a sneak peek on our first brew day of Sah'tea see either of the other two video clips at the bottom of the page..

Says it's 9% alcohol but only a has an IBU rating of 6

Sarge, I've had a t least a couple of the Terrapin line, Hop Karma IPA and Hopzilla both outstanding if you like a real hoppy brew, which I do. Also had some of the He'Brews. One or two were ok and another surprisingly good. It would go well with matzo ball soup if you're serving up any of that at the tailgate.

By the way...I think we should hit up a bar or three with some decent looking tail...if that exists out there in Nashville. Anyone have a clue? Do some research one of you.

Also...Saturday and Sunday have highs of 80 degrees with lows of 48 degrees.
