QuoteThe last word: "Anybody can say, 'OK, he had a great year (in 2004), so let's see if he can do it again.' That's like trying to tell a person to go to war in Iraq, but let me see if you can go to war again and come back, and then we'll give you the Medal of Honor. You don't send a soldier out to a battlefield twice for him to (prove he is) consistent." – Green Bay wide receiver Javon Walker, who has two seasons remaining on his current contract, on whether he should have to repeat a stellar '04 performance before seeking an increase.

So he equates playing football for several million a year to evading death in Iraq for tens of thousands a year?
Interesting.  He can die a horrible, painful death, preferably sooner than later.
Anyone but Reid.

Its TO's fault.

It just proves that all the money in the world can't buy you smarts......
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Walker is retarded. I can't imagine the lashback TO would get if he made a comment like that..which reminds me, where are the headlines about this??

Let's equate football to real life. Based on one good year's performance, would your employer invest a significant amount of money & promote you, knowing that the money spent on you, kept others from getting a raise (or hiring addtional employees) & would create a precedent for all other one-year performers?

If TO said it then he would be crucified.

But since a lovable Green Bay Packer said it -- well that just means that the media hacks will slurp all over Brett Favre some more and say that he's such a leader that he'll go talk to Javon and tell him to be a good boy.

Javon Walker, per KFFL report, is going to be reporting to camp. And the Packers share-holders have told Ted Thompson to not give into Drew & Jevon. :-D

Way to stand pat on that hold-out, Drew.
