This was one of the main causes of poor work performance in Johor state, Bernama said quoting a top state official, Norsiah Harun, adding that large file downloads also considerably slowed the state government's computer system.
Norsiah said the government viewed the matter seriously and would enforce the relevant regulations soon. She reminded all department heads to be firm in tackling the problem and to remind their staff of their responsibilities, Bernama said.
"Government staff are also reminded not to take too long during morning and afternoon breaks," she said.

Haven't those dumbasses ever heard of firewalls?
My workplace just completely cutoff access to outside email accounts. They also restricted most lower level employees from outgoing or incoming email with their company accounts, except interoffice. They upgraded the firewalls too. I imagine it is in response to leaked emails and files in a high profile product liability lawsuit we are facing right now, but it seems to be a trend.
I of course had to try and access my hotmail account, and although it blocked me, my area head got an email telling him I was now on the "watch list" for internet activity monitoring. He wasn't supposed to share that, but he would prefer we both not have to deal with any problems I guess.
