I checked it out before, there's never any action going on, every once in a while there's a herd of some random animal. I need action like a Lion squaring off against a Croc.
didnt fox johnson play for the eagles in the early ray rhodes years?
I think you're thinking of Gizmo Williams.
the action is sparse...but its the hope of something showing up that has me locked 24/7 on this shtein...plus the cricket sounds at night are great to go to sleep to
i saw a massive heard of wildebeasts last night
There's a big heard of cows of some kind drinking right now.
great thread
big ass herd of something in the house!!
where is the remote control Gun! dinner!
Damn they look thirsty.
It's the famous 'wildebeast'. I'm waiting for that discovery voice to say 'wildebeast'. Looks dope!
That particular mother wildebeast continually licks each one of her nostrils...and now her baby's icehole.
...and now his dick.
...and now he's returning the favor.
She was waiting patiently for her nut...but apparently billy's still a rookie. She got flustered and walked away. I get a feeling it's gonna be a while before mommy licks billy's mini-him for a while.
damn windows media player sucks zebra cock
thers an animal on there now making some crazy ass noises but you cant see him
IGY...it's called a 'cricket'.
They don't have crickets in the hood, chuggie. Forgive him.
IGY...it's called a 'cricket'.
no way
it was something howling super loud coyote like...at first you heard rustling and shtein around the camera and then the thing started calling out
Oh...uh....It's one of those big farging roaches. But his gay, music playing cousin. Oh wait, now I hear it...sounds like some bird or an african doing that lip thing by the camera.
I hear random footsteps right now.
its the mothman
i saw him the other nite
That would be dope if we saw some random dude walk across the screen eating a sandwich.
Some kind of dog/wolf thing is howling right now. No signs of sandwich man yet.
no sightings of anythign yet...bugs flying thats it
i watched for 10 minutes earlier and saw nothing.
let me know when some naked big-tittied african chicks have a stick fight and i'll log back on.
i just heard something die. maaad squeling like a pig going on, i think behind the camera. lol damn crickets louder than all hell :-D
I see dead people.
holy shtein an elephant just walked up
elephant was just there! :o
igy's right, this shtein is kinda peaceful. the crickets and whatnot. i have my headphones on at work and every now and then you'll hear something getting killed. pretty cool.
Screen shot of elephant that came by! Wow! Amazing stuff!
this is bullshtein...i just saw Dale Ernhardt Jr. drive by and throw a Taco Bell bag out his window
I hear what sounds to be like a wild boar grunting off camera. Farger won't show himself.
Monkies were having sex one morning last month on this feed.
birds are singing like mad...what a great site
national geographic has a similar gig here:
http://www9.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/wildcamafrica/index.html
ive been listening and randomly watching for a few hrs tonight. other than the elephant i saw earlier i havn't seen shtein. the freakin noises though are crazy and the birds about half driving me nuts. the camera just switched to color for the morning, which is pretty cool. the only thing about the color daytime camera is you can't tell if your screen is froze up or not...
so is there a website for this?
dammit @ missing the elephant
what did dook do...just roll by or did he stop off for some water
I still haven't seen shtein.
supposedly best time for viewing is between midnight and 4 a.m. EST, or 12p.m. to 4 p.m. according to my old lady, who thinks this shtein is as cool as I do and has been looking shtein up on the internets with the Google.
the cows this morning were cool. when they came in there was an elephant in the background who didn't hang around to mingle with the cows.
my dog is making the funniest faces when the monkeys scream, or whatever those sounds were. ha!

He kinda came to the edge of the water on the left, I couldn't tell if he drank any water, seemed kinda skittish, then took off to the upper left edge of the screen near that big bush. didn't last that long at all. don't know if there is a light on that night vision camera that might of spooked him or what.
I was just watchin here a minute ago and someone controlling the camera, just pointed it all around and zoomed into the treeline in the background. Now its back to its normal position...

Same here Dio, my dog ran over to the couch and is staring like crazy at the laptop :-D
Some shtein on there now. They are following something. Can't tell what they are though.
I think they were wildabeast. Did you see them in front of that house! that place is sick. the camera is moving all over the place now...
So far, the only thing I've seen was a couple of rats or something dart across the screen a few times. Couldn't tell what the hell they were. I just know they were small and fast.
I stopped watching after WMP froze up for the umpteenth time.
There's a group of something some distance away now.
Ha! Humping wildebeasts!
another website like this one:
http://www.infotecbusinesssystems.com/wildlife/
apparently doesn't work on macs of course. i can't get it to work on mine
A pack of Hyienas just strolled by. :yay
Check that, wildebeasts. :boo
I heard a radio...with what sounded like Borat talking. Is Borat an African?
It sounds like theres a dog panting into the microphone
I'm upset that I can't watch this during the day because the company firewall blocks streaming content. I tried checking it out last evening, and it was boring as hell.
theres an awesome close up of a hawk or eagles of some sorts right now
That's a seriously bad ass lookin' bird.
It just panned to a cool ass black and white stork of some kind, and promptly froze..
Grrr.
yeah i think it probably goes a lot slower when someone is manually zooming in and out.
that bird is badass though.
I kept this on last night when I went to bed, noise on. I woke up at 3am to some horrifying noises that sounded like lions and then I woke at 4:30 am and these two stork/cranes were nailing little fish out of the pond left and right. These birds have been there for almost 6-7 hrs!
Two Elephants heading torwards the watering hole....damn :o
is there any doubt that this is just a camera set up at the safari in Six Flags?

There is some kind of compound of modern looking lodges in view when the camera pans left of the watering hole. Must me a nature preserve or something.
Yea I was thinkin the same thing Sun Mo. :-D
That would be cool to have like an underwater cam on a coral reef or amazon rain forest cam...the possibilities are endless. A NYC cam, to watch all those animals :=)
i just saw the midget from twin peaks
unicorns omg!
hyiena was just drinking from the hole
thats what she said
is that a big ass turtle that just crawled out of the water....or is it a stump...i cant tell
ive never seen a hyiena before
i think it is a turtle, the camera just zoomed in on it
Hyena
http://www.suedafrika.net/Tiergifs/THyena1.jpg
another hyena. i got a zesty screenshot of it
now hyenas are BAD ASS
i think it is a turtle, the camera just zoomed in on it
johnson hasnt moved tho...at all
If I was a turtle--and I haven't seen what y'all are talking about--I wouldn't move either, what with Hyenas running around and all...
I think I just saw a comet.
That was a bug.
I was being facetious.
holy shtein!!
My night is going to involve some beer and the african watering hole. I'm hooked.
I'm finally home and watching it...and I haven't seen anything yet. Damn. But the sound is cool.
My night is going to involve some beer and the african watering hole. I'm hooked.
me too
the coolest thing about it is that youre watching africa live...like you can watch the sun rise in friggin africa...i dont why but its so surreal to me...i dont even need any animal johnsons walking by...

You know, you could just suck it up, get on a plane, and see the sun rise in any part of the world you want. I've seen the sun rise in Greece, Turkey, Australia, the Netherlands, Great Britain, the Bahamas and Brussels and none of it was viewed on a monitor. Airplanes are teh awesome!
Whoa water buffalo just came out of no where! still there, don't look like they are going anywhere fast
http://freetravel.cc/images/pf/virtualzoo/Water_Buffalo-Kenya/4.jpg
a couple of animals stopping by for a drink right now
looks like wildebeests again
BigEd, you just don't know African animals.
They sounds like an old man taking a bath.
i honestly don't know what that sounds like, so i'll take your word for it.
I don't know from experience...but from the grunting and splashing, I can make a good guess.
There are some strange noises going on right now...but there's nothing at the water.
something is back, maybe BigEd can tell us what they are?
looks like the same thing
maybe you do know African animals. pretty ugly thing that wildebeest
Not a wildebeest. Maybe an African buffalo (which is NOT a water buffalo).
By the end of my lifetime, most of the animals we're watching will exist only in zoos or fenced "parks."
Yay humanity.
I'd bet that this is a reserve.
We already know it is. During daylight hours when the camera pans you can see a lodge in the background.
I don't know about the location of the National Geographic stream.
The coolest thing I've gotten to see on this so far is a shooting star. :-\
THAT WAS A BUG GODDAMNIT!!
whoa another shooting star, i wish we had those in the united state but they were banned
You might as well say "have another drink, Dio."
Dio everyone thinks everyone here needs another drink...so drink up :sly
Nah, I don't think it was. Most of the bugs I see flying around are zig zagging all over the place. What I saw definately looked like it was deep in the background and went in a straight/diagonal line from near the top right corner and disappeared behind the big tree in the middle.
anybody else just see the bright light go diving into the water. i think its a wildebeast ghost orb
you talking about the one that came from the left side of the screen and was heading towards the camera and then headed straight for the water?

Can wildebeests and comets mate?
You guys are making this shtein up. I have been watching this farging thing and haven't seen shtein, except some bugs.
I just saw a giraffe, with a lion, and a hyena. Awesome.
What the farg is that noise? Sounds like a high pitched jack hammer. A bird? A bug? Wierd sounding.....
It's getting light out...I'm getting excited.

No shtein. I've had it minimized for the last hour or so and the last time I looked at it, it was dark out. Now it's day light. First time I've seen it during day time and it looks a little different than I expected. I thought there were a couple of trees on the right side of the screen that were closer.
The damned animals must party all night and sleep all morning.
There is a bird squaking so loud, I actually had to mute the sound in my headphones. Holy shtein! Someone hand me a shotgun!!
:-D

yep same thing sarge, ive seen the bugs and this seemed too bright, but then again what the hell else would it be
They were just showing a couple of ducks or something a minute ago.
Is it just me or does that water hole look like a Baltimore Raven's head?
:D
Interesting shadow across the pond...
Hey Sus, how do you capture a screen shot of that? I tried using print screen and control v but when I pasted it, it was still showing live.
Christ. Nothing is happening. But I must continue the vigil.....
I can't remember the last time I ate pop-tarts. I missed them.
I did an alt-printscreen, then pasted into Photoshop.
Hey...it zoomed in and followed a bird on the opposite shoreline!

thats actually the tree where the camera is mounted. haha. i saw that early today but on the near side of the pond. i
There's a hyena or something drinking from the pond and it's the kewlest thing I've ever seen.
Just saw a hyena get a drink. shtein, maybe this is a hyena/wildebeast only reserve.
I saw 3 elephants, 3 hyena, a shtein load of wildebeast, 4 water buffalo, 2 gazelle, 2 weird stork/cranes eating fish from the pond...thats about it within the past 24 hrs
I h have a life really!
i just saw a liger
theres an algae cloud starting in the pond. No swimming today
We already know it is. During daylight hours when the camera pans you can see a lodge in the background.
for the record the land is a reserve but so is a ton of africa...theres a difference between a reserve and a zoo...this watering hole is out in the open...theres no fences or boundries and all the animals are 100% fully wild
baboons in the house
look at that monkey!!
That rocks. Who's controlling the zoom?
Mother and baby monkey? Nice.
I think the camera is controlled by someone remotely..maybe wherever the satellite signal is bouncing to from the site.
I have a firewall that i cant figure out the password here at work :boom No monkeys for me :'(
baby monkey is curious about that bird.
Man, I gotta log and go work. This sucks.
Finally something cool - that one monkey is going to town
My buddy said he saw a wild boar and a zebra earlier. Anyone see that crow yesterday morning, with the white stipe around its neck? That farger was annoying. I just got a shot of a little monkey messing with that crow
water buffalo yesterday
Monkeys! TONS of monkeys!
Maybe they'll get into a poo-flinging fight!
i really wanna beat all red assed monkeys with a rowboat oar
A bunch of water buffalo and a zebra now
...now there's about 8 zebras, including a baby one
Lots of zebras now. A baby zebra too. I hope I see a lion or hyena kill it.
Rhinos at the local watering hole.
I've seen:
Baboons
Elephants
Some kind of ox cow thing -- lots of 'em
Hyenas
A tough little hawk
Some cool ass black and white crane thing
Some kind of crow I've never seen before
Wildebeast (and wildebeast ghost orb)
I will be watching this shtein until I see Rhinos and Zebara, and some kind of tiger or lion or some shtein like that. eventually, I'm gonna stop watching. really, I am.
zebara. ha.
The same two birds have been sitting there for an hour and a half.
Let's go, animals! Time to get your drink on.
yeah, sitting there doing nothing. I've been streaming since 7, nothing much happening
Gentlemen - we have a turtle sighting.
Come on. I just logged off. There are turtles in farging Africa?
Mama & baby monkey are back!
i saw a fox johnson yesterday
What is that in the distance they're trying to show, is it monkey's again?
I've been watching on and off for about 10 minutes. In that time span, I have seen three shooting stars (I'm positive that is what they were, Dio). Just from this little 5x3 image I have been watching, Africa has to be one of the coolest places I've never been too.
DC, they are not shooting stars! It would be almost impossible for a camera like that to capture a shooting star at that angle. Believe me. They are bugs, shooting stars don't just fly across the land, they are in outer space! THEY ARE BUGS
the first cf'er to get on that camera wins the internet

You'll have to drive all the way through Alaska to Kamchatka.
It's daylight out, and I think I saw at least three meteors fly by!
Why is it when I turn it on for the first time there is nothing there? I suck.
Karl Malone is a huge fan of that site because for some reason he wants to study the animal habits.
If Karl Malone is whiter than thou
I think I'm now witnessing a huge bug fight.
Jumanji
MDS?
wombats!
Zebras!
Sweet. Now I wanna see rhinos.
you guys getting audio? I'm not..
some kind of huge centipede. looks like a crawling turd.
more wildebeasts
Nope. No audio here, either. At least it seems like it.
Havent got it since I tried this out a few nights ago. Still pretty cool.
Where exactly is this camera set up? Any locals around there?
It was raining there late last night round 2am. Still looks overcast. No audio though, maybe that has something to do with the weather?
theres a big house in the background, i find it much less interesting now
yeah, we already talked about that. it's igy's recording studio. he lays down phat afrikan beats amongst the natives.
So it's actually functioning again? Do they just shut it down on football Sundays?
Baboons chillin'. Still no audio.
man those lazy apes have the easy life.
I think they're on public assistance.
poor baby baboon probably doesn't even know his daddy
I saw the Stork/Crane birds again in very early morning, fishing.
sound is working and there's all kinds of crazy shtein going on, zebras, monkeys, and lions i think
no lions, just zebras
Looks like there's a wire or something hanging down at the top of the screen.
i'd like to know what kind of animal was just there, looked like some sort of big cat.
I'm thinking it was a pair of lions (or lionesses). It's not very clear, but they were moving like lions.

Is that a shooting star in that photo?
It's getting light...and I saw somebody adjust the camera to get rid of the wire thingie.
The camera is now panning and zooming all over the place. Does this happen daily?
Some variety of gazelle:
Wow. That's cool.
big ass elephant on camera right now :o
that elephant is dope
Elephant = Kirkland
hyenas be creepin
Strange noises. I thought it was a jet flyby, but it's pretty constant. Maybe somebody is hosing stuff off...
Not to spoil the party, but did anyone else get hit with a worm while this was up? After having it on for 15 mins, I got a warning.
whats a worm?
Nope...no worm.
I saw a cool ass centipede once.
ha
me too
saw warthog johnson last night at 3am.
baby elephants
farg
how am i always missing the elephants
Closeup of a warthog.
that guy is HOTT
dig the way it walks on its front knees when grazing..wow

HOTT like open nostril sores

check that its like four doods in a jeep driving right up to lion and flashing a light on him...and the jeep isnt enclosed or anything...lunatics...there a few more lions around now as well...shteins about to jump off
close up of that lion, cool
comet!
Close-up of a giraffe.
A lion at his Christmas feast.
There is an absolutely gorgeous lioness on right now. She's laying under a tree just chillin'...
Damn! I wish I knew how to take a screen shot.
Lions relaxing and enjoying seconds.
How many of us are feeling like that right now?
Somebody's thirsty...
...and gathering an audience...
Hyenas right now. And it sounds like they're killing something. Cameraman is trying to find it.
Right now on one of the HD channels (205 where I live) there's a Discovery documetary called the 'Trek' which is a enormous herd of Wildabeasts mixed with some Zebra's that are migrating across Africa. So far they've been hunted by Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, and Crocodiles. It's about 1 hour in but it's 3 hours long and it's truly amazing.
what time is best to watch this?? Everytime I check it out, there's nothing going on.
Usually between 11PM and 9AM Eastern

Pretty amazing. Looks like a real big cat and a smaller than usual croc. I don't think a leopard could take a full grown croc.
well, a full grown croc can reach 18, 20 feet, right? so no, I doubt any cat could accomplish that feat...this one appears to be at least six feet long though..not exactly easy pickins
yea a lion can't take on a croc, especially the big ones in africa. those are some crazy pictures though. that leopard farged the croc up!

anyone watch 60 minutes last week with the story on the gorillas in africa...the natives are killing off all the silver back gorillas for no other reason than they the forest they live in has valuable trees that they make charcoal out of and then sell...problem is while they are farming these trees theyve been gettingn attacked by the gorillas..so now what they do is go in kill all the gorillas in a particular area then start harvesting the trees

Now THIS is what PETA should be focusing their attention on, not Chick-Fil-A and KFC. If they'd actually do something to help animals instead of telling humans to stop mistreating them they might form a reputable name.

Nice. Yeah, they talked about how they're the only tree dweller that they've ever observed who climbs down a tree just to dig a hole, take a shtein(only once a week), and they cover that poo up with dirt. Then climb back into the tree. Kinda fascinating that their fur has it's own ecosystem with algae and fungus.
hey look, some beautiful shtein that's going to vanish from earth thanks to SD and his soccer mom jeep.

I was watching that yesterday and I couldn't imagine being stuck there knowing that dude was about to eat me. And the people standing above? Don't go get the zoo workers with a tranquilizer or anything
An article I read about it says that it took 15-20 minutes for the zoo to respond. Pretty pathetic.
Weird thing is that the Tiger seemed to be more curious than aggressive until people started shouting and throwing things. Not blaming them at all because I'd probably do the same thing to try and scare the tiger away, but it still makes you wonder if they didn't aggravate the tiger more than the dude in the pit.
i love how the local news in new dehli shows the footage like they would show traffic or weather here

The worst echo chamber on the internet. Really is awful there.
When I first started checking that section out, there was a lot more liberals and some decent discussions were had. The same jackasses were there, but they weren't the only ones there.

I guess its one of these since dumb ass channel 7 wont say like its a matter of national security or some shtein..
QuoteFor the first time since the 1940s, D.C. is now home to three—three!—bald eagle nests. After the first nest was speculated—and later confirmed—to be in the National Arboretum, another one was discovered at the Metropolitan Police Department's training facility academy. And now, a third has been discovered at the West Campus of St. Elizabeth's.
I see eagles every day in my yard. I just want to see them successfully scoop up one of my wifes chickens, preferably the white one because its privileged and mean.
How about you scoop that bastich up and cook him for dinner?
Starting to see them flying around my house. Frigging cool as hell seeing them everytime

Gotta get approval from the farmer lady aka wife. We have 4 of them, 1 Plymouth Rock Red, 1 Leghorn, 1 Easter Egger, and 1 blue hen. They finally started up producing eggs after taking two months off so they won't see the cleaver until next year.
Two years ago I got a call when the Eagles were playing the titans that a Hawk had tried to take the white chicken out. She heard the shriek of the hawk as it came down and just saw something fly by the window and then a cloud of feathers. The chicken aka French Fry lucked out and was pushed into a butter fly bush patch and the hawk couldn't or wouldn't chase it down on the ground. The yard looked like a murder scene though.

Today I learned there are different kinds of chickens...did not know that.
Nor did I know hawks hunt chickens. I thought they stuck to smaller animals
Have you ever seen the size of a farging hawk? By comparison, chickens are smaller animals.
I have seen bald eagles but don't recall seeing a hawk close enough to get an idea of the size
Phreak, you never heard of Henery Hawk trying to eat Foghorn Leghorn?
Raptors sometimes go after some pretty big prey. A famous pre-human fossil known as the Taung Child is widely believed to have been carried off and eaten by eagles.

You don't have guns? Or were you able to shoot it down before he flew too far away

At a lake in New Hampshire with my g/fs family, we kayaked out to the small island in the lake that's sort of near the opposite shore.
Hear something rustling in the woods and run away from the shore of the island, so I kayak around a big boulder to peer into where it sounded like it ran, and it was a black bear cub. I didn' stick around long enough to get a picture because I had no idea where mom was at the time and didn't wanna piss it off. We stuck around for a half hour or so and could clearly hear at least 3 bears walking around, but didn't get a sighting of any of them again.

thats the law on the potomac as wel....but the snakehead while plentiful in many waters has largely not effected native species....a practical balance is needed even amongst native species to ensure the survival of all kinds of animals....if people hunt too much elk wolves die
precautions should always be taken....but the hysteria from a decade ago was just that....hysteria....they loved showing this foreign hideously scary/ugly looking "predator" that was going to kill all our fish cause it was a neato doomsday narrative to run with

Those things have been proven to greatly reduce roadkill. If the animals have a safe route across a highway, they take it. We have a bridge going in nearby that will have a new passageway under the road which didn't exist before. It'll be huge, not small like this one..they don't have to be large enough to drive a truck through, but it's fantastica ll the same that in addition to people having a new, safe way to move from one part of the park to another, the animals will use it too.

Starting looking up info about them and came across a bunch of sites that sell their teeth. Most of the sellers are scuba divers who find them off the coasts of South/North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, California etc. Did some research and found a reputable dealer. Bought a museum quality tooth 4.5 inches long found off the coast of North Carolina. Specimen is a few million years old and the megalodon probably killed massive whales with this tooth so holding in my hand and having it on display at my home is pretty damn cool. [/nerdgasm over]
