Eagles left guard Nate Herbig and Steelers nose tackle Tyson Alualu are both graduates of Saint Louis School, although the 22-year-old Herbig is 11 years younger than Alualu.

I couldn't tell you the last time I enjoyed watching an Eagles/Steelers game, and I'm expecting this one to be a huge shteinshow. A real fargaroonie.
Props for fargaroonie
Technically should be fargarooney tho since it's PIT
So, have pregame shows consistently gotten worse to the point of unwatchability, or were they always this bad and I wound up pulling my head out of my ass at some point?
Wentz looks like he's running on stilts. Can't throw the ball away bro?

Heroes don't throw the ball away.
I love this new corner...what's his name?
That was a nice hit on a Wentz-like stupid attempt to get more yards.
Oh shtein, Wentz completed a pass.
Can "we" maybe not throw at Haden?
bullshtein penalty
That's a real zesty PI call.
Cox was held..no call.
immediately followed by a shtein PI call
I can't blame the D for that TD. Defense got farged hard by the refs on that drive.
Pretty salty about that drive...D was robbed twice.
Now f'n Wentz and Co. has to get some first downs. Can't just go three and out and put this frustrted and tired defense back into the fire.
one of the all time wurst PI calls

I'd be pretty happy with
a first down.
Hightower jumped too early there.
That throw was a real nice thing to see after watching a nice long pass done successfully on replay in the Rams game.
Embarrassing for the Steelers defense there.
Miles baller
Still no first down, though.
But to be honest, it's nice to see someone else's defense give up a touchdown immediately after the offense scores.
gotta admit that JJAW did contribute with his block...
lol wasn't expecting a bbitch mention in this game
20 f'n years is a long time to go between home runs.
Man, just think of how good this defensive line could be if the receivers ever got bumped off their routes. It's a shame the rules say you must give them a fifteen yard cushion.
Third and ten plus is like 75% guaranteed fail for this D.
It was nice being excited about this game for a minute.
Jalen Mills somehow still an Eagle
Eagles must answer...they can't keep up if they don't.
has there ever been e worse 3rd down defensive performance
Time for Wentz to hero up a turnover. No idea if it'll be a fumble or a pick, so that'll be fun to discover.
What happened to Wentz? His throws are dogshtein.

Makeup call
ticky tacky call there...not roughing in my world

The Team MVP is a guy with the worst made up name since Ron Mexico.
Ron Mexico, lol. Forgot about that guy.
So Wentz is throwing slightly better, but exactly how bad is Pittsburgh's defense?
love to hear the Eagles chant....

it's a good tackle when the guy is stopped...when you cut him down and he keeps going for four yards...yeah, you got lucky

Any pass that doesn't go a yard gets called a lateral. Looked fine to me.
Come on goddamn you. Get rid of the ball Carson.
Stares at a receiver for two seconds, decides he's not open, stares at another receiver for two seconds, nope pull it down, sack.
This guy Fulgham...
How does Hightower not go out of bounds there. Cmon man.

Hightower, however. Stutters to see if he can pick up the first, opts to not go out of bounds and also doesn't get the first down.
Hightower...yo...go out of bounds my man.
Has Ertz had a catch at all this year?
Hightower might not be that good.
Best play of JJ's career and it's a fargup.
Of course. Not only did he not get out of bounds, he popped up to celebrate.

He's able to get on the field, making him at worst only the third worst receiver on the team.
The PI calls on Slay were trash
Hightower not getting out of bounds and dropping a TD is trash tko
farg
first half in the bag and Carson's sacks are on Carson holding the ball..he's had good protection generally
This is the worst I've seen from the Steelers defense this year. Their wins are against bottom feeder teams so their record might be a fraud. Bad news for the Eagles is they are arguably a bottom feeder team too.
Wentz is speedrunning his way to that McNabb hairline.
Nice tackle Cre'Von
If it isn't behind the line of scrimmage, the Eagles have no clue how to make a tackle.
Defense can't defend gadget plays for shtein.
Yeah they get tricked waaaay too much

Consider this game out of reach.
Can't say I've enjoyed or learned anything from Jonathan Vilma's commentary, but I'm impressed that someone from the U speaks on TV professionally.
Interesting how all these other teams draft these fast, speedy receivers, utilize them and we get guys like Hightower.
We got anyone to throw back there other than Boston Scott? Would be nice to start a drive outside the Eagles 20.
WHY is Scott bringing that ball out?
Thank God for the Football Team and Giants
There it is. Drink.
That's game.
There's that Wentz pick I've been waiting for. Now I can turn this shtein off.
Cox is wiped out...get him off the field.
It's sickening, recognize all these past picks the Steelers have made, Seems like they all contribute while we get to watch Dillard and Raegor in street clothes.

Mills helpfully puts his hand up by way of signaling the ref to grab his flag.
Been some bad calls today. That's maybe illegal contact. Not PI.
I don't think Mills has ever committed less PI than that.
Might as well pull Sanders from the game. Not only are the Eagles not going to win, but Doug's not going to call any more runs.
bench Wentz
I wonder what the Eagles third quarter point differential is this season. That shtein has to be really ugly.
This Fulgham guy....again. WTF
It's "Kez," not "Kwez," am I right?
This ref is trash.
I'm shocked that wounded duck pass was a touchdown.
Steelers seem to have that same lay down after scoring tendency that afflicts the Eagles.
Is leaving the field on a golf cart or being escorted into the locker room during every game in Lane Johnson's contract?
Claypool is good. Steelers draft well.

Fulgham is owning this game...holy crap.
Nice of Hilton to make sure Fulgham was in bounds by holding him up.
Sanders getting back to the LOS there was one of the most athletic plays of the game.
Looking forward to the Hurts/Fulgham/Ward trio owning the league for the next decade.

His stock is only going up. Gotta trade him now for a sweet 3rd round pick so they can draft another TE.
I texted my buddy last week after his first catch that there are certain names that you know will never be NFL stars because the name test check, and a guy named "Travis Fulghum" is one of them. He's of course been lighting it up ever since.
The good news for the Eagles is Fulgham's positive PED test won't come back until after the game is in the books.

All the bad PI calls today and then on that play the defender was clearly a step early in hitting Ward there and nothing lol

Okay Jim.
Schwartz called a decent game until that. Don't know what the farg that was.
Of course Big Ben picks that up I wonder if Jesus boy would've caught that?
NO! He'd take the sack.
All things considered this was a coaching loss, and in game management, not preparation.
Game was competitive in the fourth quarter which was better than I expected.
First time Mailata's given up a sack.
Wentz absolutely awful. Mentally checked out when the defense gave the game away.
Why did that moron celebrate ruining his field position.
The one time you shouldn't catch the INT....
FG decision (Doug) and 3rd down decision (Jim) killed any chance the Eagles had. Also killed any chance for those who had the Eagles to cover.
you can point to 5 different little things but really the eagles just stink

Will any of those guys be on the team in 2022?
Wentz is the real disaster going on this season. He's really terrible, among the worst in the NFL. And he's the franchise. If the division was out of reach I feel like the Eagles would bench him for a fake injury for a few weeks until he gets his head back.
Why wouldn't they?
Fulgham is flash in the pan (for now) but I think we've seen enough of the other three to say they're good building blocks.

I think Driscoll is the only one even under contract for that long. Stout does a great job getting the most out of guys but from what I've seen none of them have been making me say "wow, that guy's a bonafide starter". If they keep being serviceable all season maybe I change my mind.
Bad day for Zach Ertz's trade value.
also cannot be understated how terrible jon vilma was
hes a down depth chart fox guy doing mainly D level games but youd figure out of all the ex jocks in the world they could find one or two that can do this competently
Really all of the analysts other than Aikman on Fox are bottom of the barrel. And even Aikman isn't especially good. It's like they didn't want to spend money in the covid year, or they expected Phil Rivers to retire.

Seriously with what they have invested in Wentz they would need to be seeing Patrick Mahomes shtein out of Hurts in practice to consider giving up on him during this season, no matter how much Wentz stinks. It's an unmitigated disaster for the next three years if he doesn't turn it around.
2024 is when it makes sense to get out of him. thats 3 more seasons and he aint getting any younger or more athletic...where as the position most certainly is

Just had this conversation with a buddy of mine, really happy with the progress those young lineman are making.
Now if we can find some linebackers that can play and a few promising prospects in the secondary that can cover. So over Mills.
Jim clearly doesn't believe in LB as a position of value. Makes it all the more baffling he put one on Claypool for the dagger play. Every team has holes on defense, but there's no excuse for showing your ass to the offense on the most important defensive snap of the game. Make the offense earn it. It was a pitch and catch every NFL team could have completed, possibly even the Eagles.
Ok, we didn't discuss this yet. The TV crew said the longest FG ever made at Hienz Field is 54 yards. In 20 years, 54 yards! Do your homework Doug. Odds were stacked against skinny bones jones making that.
I don't see any reason for attempting a FG over 55 yards in any stadium unless it's the end of a half, OT, or neither team has been able to do anything on offense. With 3+ minutes left around the 40 yard line I would have liked to see a run on third down, with the hope that you either convert or get 4th down into QB sneak range.
Even if that thing was converted I feel it lowers your chance of winning compared to keeping the ball away from the Steelers.
Would've been interesting if he had made that in that most of us don't have the faith we once had in Elliot. Would our faith have been restored? Even if he had made it there was still 3:00+ on the clock and this defense.
That stadium is a black hole for long FGs.
I was happy about Fulgham today. That's about it.
But that game was winnable.

Not sure there was a less winnable game
i thought true liberals werent watching the nfl....hmmm....
it was most certainly a winnable game. they had the ball at midfield with 5 minutes left and mcnabb, i mean wentz, wet his pants and didnt move the ball. decent chance BEN the comes back down and wins the game, but it was there for them.
Watched the condensed game on NFL Ticket as I missed Q1.
- O Line did great, bunch of young, inexperienced players did a nice job.
- Fulgham, what a joy to watch him and the game he had. Don't hurry back Pimp and Ash.
- Wentz played much better than I thought. One awful INT and one bad sack (just before the missed FG was on Wentz) and one pansy ass Todd Pinkston attempt at a sure TD by Hightower, from being in good shape at the end.
-Even if Elliott makes that 57 yarder WAY to much time for Ben to dissect this defense.
- Oh my God! Jim Schwartz is a disaster. Horrible game plan. Yes he has mostly shtein to work with, this team can't tackle for shtein, that was even more glaring the second time I watched it, but he's awful.
- Pittsburgh drafts well
How in the hell are Sydney Jones and Rasul Douglas playing well on their new teams? Playing for Schwartz definitely didn't help those two.
Quote"Ideally, would we like Nate to be on a receiver? No," safety Rodney McLeod said. "We would prefer a defensive back. But that was the call that was made defensively, and they checked to a good play."

After the way Rivers played Sunday, and most of this season, I can see the Colts a knockin', by no means a #1 but lets make a deal!
