I was just there for work over the weekend and if you want a real Eagles bar, try Torrey Pines in NW Vegas. Have a great time!
ha i've been to that bar for a birds game before....regular season game but still crazy fun.
i was contemplating minny but ended up getting a hotel room in philly....can't imagine any other place to be once i thought about it. not sure where we're gonna watch though. in 2004 i had friends who rented the entire second floor of mcgillins and it was perfect.

yeah me and matty are staying downtown.....we havent nailed down an actual spot to watch yet but the more the merrier...im staying for the whole weekend....going to sixers on friday and then gonna spend saturday drinking myself around the city scouting potential locations
got the sheraton on 17th
Staying with the wife and kid at the Marriott in CC. We have a bunch of folks from our gate crew also in the area. And like you guys, not sure where to watch. Many places are already sold out if they have reserved spots, others are first come first serve. It's gonna be a shtein show.
I'm contemplating the idea of booking a meeting room in one of the hotels.
Bring your camera, say a few words to those gathered about photography...then write off the whole thing.
Not a bad idea. That would most certainly offset my profits for the year (about $60).
my buddy is doing something. hes around 21st and christian. might go there unless you fargers have a good idea. i want to hang with smeags hes such a cool guy. if dio comes 100% im there.

so no playing around with Carolina reaper pepper powder ?
That's a definite possibility. I'm trying to keep with another small group, but it's getting ever more difficult to keep everybody together. I might just float this one and say it's every person for themselves (well, the immediate family comes first, or course).
...and Mcgillans upstairs is now sold out. Dammit.
I ain't joining anyone up there unless someone wants to pay my way. I don't have much work these days and literally can't afford even $20 or anything extra right now. I've got money to pay my bills through February, but don't have a dime for March. So yeah, have fun. I'll be in my mother's basement, alone.

Thanks man!
I'll keep that place on the back burner for my fall football trip. Usually we would pay for one of the ayce and aycd parties or go to one of the hosted hotel parties but I'm looking forward to being in the wraparound suite. Since the Eagles are in it I need to be able to see and hear everything and it'll be easy this way.
I'm watching it at the same pub I've watched the Birds at since 1991. I'll be in Philly for the parade, though. I expect hugs and kisses from all of you when I see you. No homo.
Conflicted, Uncle has a huge HD projector screen and a big finished basement and there will be 40+ family/friends there...only problem is he lives in Souderton.
Aunt lives a few miles from Frankford and Cottman. But she lives in a cramped 2 bedroom apartment and there's going to be 20 people crowded in her living room. I originally swore off F&C but if they win I'm going to regret not going.
If I want to go to my Aunts I have to find something to do with my daughter since her mom is useless and she hasn't seen her since December, if we go to my Uncles we're crashing there. Either way I'm off and she's staying home from school.
If I was coming from out of town the downtown hotel idea is a great one. I'd do a pre ticket deal rather than trying to cram into some random bar. I need to be situated somewhere.
Next week is nuts, hopefully the birds win Sunday. Celebrate Monday, parade Tuesday, court with baby's momma on Friday.
My daughter and I have season passes to Disney, I know a few of you have kids...gonna try to take advantage of this in April/May.

been going to frankford and cottman since i was a kid until i went to game 5 in 2008 and walked broad street afterwards....holy crap its amazing....theres a few dead spots along the way but its basically bedlam from oregon to city hall...in fact one of my best friends is having a house part on lansing which i could have went to but turned down for center city
yea broad st after the phils won was truly amazing...you gotta get there just to revel in it
hopefully someone dies
There's nowhere else I'd rather be than Broad St. but it's unrealistic with my situation. My current dilemma is I'm taking my daughter out of school on Monday, if they win then the parades on Tuesday, which I will also take her out of school for. We go to court on Friday, my daughter told me she wouldn't say anything to her mom about staying home but she might have to talk to a judge on Friday and if she mentions staying home and her mom not knowing I could be farged. She hasn't seen her mom since xmas time and before that it was here and there. I would just have her mom take her Sunday night but she refuses to stay with her. So I'm thinking about crashing at my Uncles in Souderton, driving her an hour to school in the morning, then coming home and crashing. I doubt a judge would give two shteins if I kept my daughter home from school to go to the Eagles parade but two days might be stretching it.
I love the Eagles but my farging kids are going to school every day it's open.

You might love the Eagles but you don't understand being an Eagles fan.
If being an Eagles fan means holding your kids out of school so your hung over ass can party more, you're right. I don't understand. If it means blowing $300 so you can watch the game and party in Philly, even when that means missing paid work and bills going unpaid, you're right. I don't understand.
If school is open, and my kids aren't sick, they go. Education>>Parade
If I ain't got no money, I ain't spending on frivolous shtein. Rent >> Football.
That's me, though. I'm just not a real Eagles fan, huh?

You don't understand the magnitude of what's going to happen if the Eagles win the super bowl. I don't know your relation to the Philly area but the city and surrounding areas will be unlike anything ever seen in the entire history of the world. Nobody I know is sending their kids to school if they win. Schools and businesses might as well shutdown because the entire city will be in a celebratory state of disarray. Nobody can imagine the outpour of emotion the region will experience. A win would let the city and fans move on...if you don't know what I'm talking about you never will. Life is more about experiences than it is sitting in a classroom. This is a once in a lifetime experience that most of us have been waiting for our entire lives. The "party and hungover" line is a dumb cliche because this goes beyond that. The Eagles have been a huge part of my entire life. I honestly feel like if I died before they won a Super Bowl that my life will have ended incomplete.
Financially I'm very well off, much better than I ever thought I'd be... granted I work 70 hours a week but I love my job. I don't have the luxury of help from another parent. In fact I have to pay the bitch $700 a month until I can get full legal custody. My daughter is an honor roll student, she plays the clarinet and takes Tae Kwon Do...she can afford to miss a few days of school. I asked her teacher if there'd be a problem with missing school so I could take her to Disneyworld for a few days and she laughed and said of course not.
I'm not questioning your fandom, we've spent 15 years give or take talking about the Eagles on this forum. I don't think you appreciate what a win would mean to peoples lives. 10 years from now my daughters always going to remember the elation and joy of the city...nothing will ever match that.
Well said and I agree. I'm a bit older than most of you and the old joke "just one before I die" isn't nearly as funny as it used to be. I already cleared my schedule for the week after.
kids seem fun
I was grumpy even before kids but yeah, the responsibility is a drag.
So it looks like my plans have changed. My buddy texted me a while ago and told me he is driving up to Philly for the game, so I'm going up with him. Holy shtein this is happening. I'm booking a room in CC for Sunday and Monday. Now all I need is a place to watch it.
We're leaving Friday night and should be there by Saturday morning.
I'll be in the city somewhere. Not exactly sure yet. Leaning towards the SouthHouse on 13th, just a couple blocks off Broad.
I'd love to do McGillins but that's probably out unless we get there at Noon.
mcgillins isnt all tickets....the downstairs is definitely first come first in the upstairs holds way more than 100 so maybe only 100 is the deal but the rest is regular bar....worth calling and asking

no one outside the delaware valley can ever understand this
also the money stuff is valid i would never tell anyone what to do with theirs but lol at the false equivalency of missing a day of school means you dont care about education

Little family get-together at my house. Nephew is as big an Eagles fan as I am. Amassing all the Philly-style food I can find.
My son (14 years old) is so excited he can barely stand it. He was an infant for 2004, but this is his first real one.
Hey booked a room at the Embassy Suites on the Parkway for Sunday night. $84/night with taxes and insurance it was $111.99. That is insanely cheap.

I've got friends who live in the city, and being in the city for Game 5 pt. 2 is still one of the best nights of my life.
But ultimately I can't not be with my family and all the family friends at the Eagles room(s) I've told you all about. My uncle's room gets all the press on the local pregame shows but I'll be at my dad's which is just as fun, just not as spacious (a full finished basement with a full sized bar vs. an addition built onto a house specifically for hte purpose of having an Eagles room).
Gonna be a nervous wreck. We lost my older brother this week last year, I have a feeling if they pull it out the first season he's not around for my dad is gonna have some bittersweet emotions. If they win I'll probably cry regardless of that. Would probably be the weirdest thing I've ever cried over.

Munson will be in the rape basement!
got an email from the eagles today for packages
ticket only = 3557.50
ticket and (3) nights hotel = 5705.00
Ticket prices were down in the $2500 range a few days ago, they're back up in the $3500 range. CSN is showing Barkann on these rides in the Mall of America. I just thought it was some big mall like Franklin Mills (now called Philadelphia Mills but still referred to as FM). Never realized they had a roller coaster and zip line. Minnesota must be a boring ass place to live. I hate malls and that's their biggest tourist attraction.
they dont even include air and im assuming at this point youd have to go to baltimore or newark to get a flight to minny this weekend
im seeing flights around $320...lower if youre willing to spend 7 hours connecting.
is that a face value ticket? i thought they were much lower.
i have no idea if its face...its the price on the eagles packages....packages that are coming directly from the eagles
people must not be going to minny like they did jacksonville if you can still fly out of philly this late for that cheap
that might be face. face value ranges $950-$5000. wouldnt be shocking if this was some kind of shady deal between the eagles and stubhub.
whatever it is theres lots of tickets....i saw several rows with 6 or more seats together and i didnt even look that deep
shocking that nobody wants to go to frigid minneapolis and pay $3500 a ticket
the frigid cold is one thing, those scary fans are another.
So "Minnesota nice" is a thing
I've had at least 5 other people ask to go with us to Philly. I've had double that say what a great idea it was but they can't go because of whatever reason. I'll probably drop $500 total for this deal and I'll be in the one place in the universe I'd prefer to be if they win. You couldn't pay me enough to go to Minnesota to watch the game.
We're leaving Friday around 6:00 or so. Should be there sometime early Saturday morning.
I will not be able to sleep for days when they win.

Yuengling for my nephew.
Watching from the comfort of my own couch. My nephew (as big an Eagles fan as I am) and his wife will be coming over. Couldn't handle watching this at some party with non-Eagles fans who will be treating it as more of a social event. At some point I'd be losing friends.
