wound up being turntables...no live band.

slick rick seemed to be going through the motions & did a short set...maybe 30 minutes. started off with a medley of his songs..then did some of the bigger hits...the ones you'd expect.  he wore shades until the last song (children's story) when he rocked the eye patch.

rakim was really good...much better at working the crowd & a better live performer overall.  i can't say how long his set was because i left after paid in full because fights started breaking out, some idiot jumped up on stage, i'm an old white guy, & my gf was with me.  :paranoid
i actually thought paid was going to be his last song but i heard him breaking into mahogony as i was running for my life walking out the door.

overall, a really good time & it was awesome to see 2 of the artists i grew up on as a white dude living in the mean streets of nepa.

did slick rick do 'its a boy remix'

guy that tailgates near me gave me a cd this week thats a mash up of pharcyde rhymes over tribe beats...except its not just tribe instrumentals...a lot of it is the original song they sampled off looped in a slightly different way.....ive onyl gotten half way thru it but so far so amazing

yeah...he did "it's a boy."

he put on a good show...wish it were longer but he hit on all the songs you'd expect..even if he only did a part of them.
