i wish but the most he can lose is 10...no way i win the .500 or worse bet

If they go 19-29 the rest of the way, they finish .500.   That's doable for this team.  Of course, so is 29-19.

MDS

so evidentially ja happ is gonna be sent down to make room for this erye joker.

1. myers and eaton blow chunks for the first 3 months of the season
2. happ gets called up and pitches well for 2 games after myers is sent down
3. they finally have enough of eaton
4. they trade one of the top 50 prospects in baseball for a fatass average starting pitching who is fat
5. myers gets his job back
6. happ is back in aaa despite manuel stating he should get another start
7. eaton sucks ass in the bullpen too
8. happ, despite never being a relief pitcher, is called up to the bullpen
9. he isnt used for over a week
10. hes put in a 2 run game against florida and predictably gets hit around
11. hes send back down so a 39 year old cast off can have a job

farg THIS TEAM
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

they way they have dogged happ is pathetic but par for the course for this franchise

which would you rather have in the next five years:

a) two philly teams make their league finals and have two chances to win a championship

b) current phillies ownership sell the team

who is the top 50 prospect they gave up for blanton?
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

PoopyfaceMcGee

a) is worthless, unless you are leaving it open-ended as to whether or not they ACTUALLY win

I would love for the Phillies to sell the team to a ridiculously rich icehole, though.  Tough, tough call.

SunMo

the transformation of Jimmy Rollins from MVP hero to town moron continues...

Radano:

QuoteFifty-nine games later, the Phillies remain in first. Any chances of running away with the division have gone by the wayside, however, because the offense has wasted more than one solid effort from a maligned starting rotation.
During that time, the Phillies have played to the tune of three games below .500.
"You say that like it's a bad thing," shortstop Jimmy Rollins said after Thursday's 3-0 loss to second-place Florida. "I'd rather be ahead than behind. I don't think anybody in here expects to pull away -- we just expect to win."
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

PhillyPhreak54

Amazing....did someone steal his brain in the offseason?

And why isn't Les Walrond getting sent down?

The JA Happ hog smoke fest is getting a little ridiculous though. You'd think he was Francisco Liriano if you listened to some people.

It's JA Happ. He got lit the other night. He walks a lot of guys.

he hadn't pitched in 2 weeks dude...and then gets thrown into a relief appearance when he's a starter?  they totally jerked him around.

phreak it has nothing to do with how good or bad of a pitcher happ is...you dont do to him what they have done

Now I agree with that. They jerked him off. That is par for the FO's course.

But...reading the Phils MB you'd think he was a savior or something. I like the dude and I think he'll be good. But some gotta slow the roll...

reason number 378 to not read baseball message boards

pretty much the best news that could ever happen ever in the history of the world ever

cardenas was listed as one of the top 50 prospects in baseball from what i read. hes blocked by utley here, and they definitely could have gotten something more for him than some fat guy.
