Lol I'd be following the storm up the country and get there in time to see my friend Mr Ice again! Let's just meet in Clearwater and boo the Phillies.

We came back online. I'm sure it'll go out again soon.

Rome

Ted Cruz got on a plane with his family and headed for Cancun where it's presumably warmer than Texas.

And no, I'm not kidding either.

PhillyPhreak54

He's a farging scumbag. People freezing to death in their homes and he bolts.

PhillyPhreak54

The local news held Scumbag Ted's feet to the fire for his Cancun trip.

He blamed it on his kids lol and then since he was caught all he could do is admit he was wrong.

Munson

Someone in his friends group text ratted his ass out lol.

Dude doesn't even have trustworthy friends. The first time I almost felt bad for him.
Almost.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I don't have to mention what a disaster this would have been. Here we are in the USA's biggest energy producing state and we were thisclose to a total system failure.

Incompetence
Greed
Cronyism
Negligence

All of those apply here. There's a report out today where some natural gas companies are giddy about increased drilling. They're bragging about what a jackpot this storm is for them. Jerry Jones happens to own one of the drilling companies.

Rates on gas and other related energy things have been jacked up. So we the public will be getting astronomical bills unless you're lucky to be locked into a fixed rate plan. Which some aren't.

Free market! Socialism! Communism! Texas can secede!

Bullshtein. Texas' arrogance hurt it on this. Their desire to have their own energy grid is fine. But when they neglect it because it's privatized that's a problem.

I grow increasingly more jaded as the time passes when we see the multitude of failures in government. You can apply that to any level of government btw. There is zero accountability.

And that was shown during the impeachment proceedings and now all the way down to state and local levels.

Politicians are ruining people's lives. And I'm farging sick of it. The United States of America should not have these issues of residents not having farging heat or water. People shouldn't die because of free market in healthcare or public utilities. People should not have to line the farg up in bread lines to feed their families. Utter horseshtein.

i love how bee-toe and hot AF goddess aoc did more for texas than any of their elected officials

especially that democrat governor of theirs
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Yep.

AOC and Beto have been rockstars. Meanwhile Rafael flees to Cancun and I haven't heard a peep from Cornyn. Crenshaw was talking bullshtein about the wind energy being the problem and that is it. farg all of the Texas GOP iceholes.

Rome

Texas has formally requested assistance from the National Guard.

Funny.  I guess that whole "secession" thing can wait till they figure out how to turn the farging tap water back on.

Diomedes

Typical conservatives...it's all freedom and liberty until they get their asses kicked and then it's on the community to bail them out.

They want to go it alone until the going gets rough.

They like unregulated power when its giving them almost free electricity but can't find their personal responsibility when the bill balloons, according to the contracts they signed

Just wait until the next election where video of the National Guard going down the streets is called a War Against Texas in Biden's America.
