1. Kevin Kolb - sink or swim, tough guy. Can he not hold the ball for seven seconds? He cannot escape pressure like McNabb did. Even when McNabb stopped running, his mobility within the pocket was invaluable. Kolb has shown that he will hold it too long and chunk it up in a panic leading to horrible picks. We're going to be watching a totally different QB. Is he going to be like Aaron Rodgers or Bobby Hoying?
He is already nothing like Bobby Hoying, he actually throws the ball down field. And while I agree he has shown tendencies of holding the ball too long like IGY said it was 2 NFL starts. Don't forget that McNabb was often guilty of holding the ball too long because he was afraid to throw to guys that weren't completely wide open.

No way this team is 8-8 if Kolb is "really good". Mcnabb was "really good" and they went 10-6, despite the defense rest of the team.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

mcnabb was not really good...and its all about context...cobbs really good this year is not the same level as say tom bradys really good would be
cobb will be really good if he proves to be a legit nfl starter and shows the kind of promise we all hope for...for example if cobb does what mcnabb did last year that would be a really good season
not that a qb cant be really good and his team not so much....shtein schaub was great last year and houston was what 9-7...it happens all the time

He could be Bobby Hoying if he bombs. Hoying was the future and shtein the bed. Kolb is the future and can either take advantage or stink the joint up.
When I watched him in camp he held it a long time. That could have been a product of not being well versed in the offense yet. As he gets comfortable and knows where guys will be he won't have to hold it, it will be second nature to release to a spot.
But he better knock off staring guys down. That was one of his weaknesses coming out of Houston.

Speaking of the running game..
link
I didn't realize Shady with his 637 yards set the record for an Eagle rookie back. I fully expect him to have well over 1,000 all purpose yards this year. He's secure now in the roll of starter. Last year was good for him playing behind Bwest starting out the year, proably seasoned him well.

It's possible Mike Bell could split time with Shady. I'd be fine with them both getting 1k total.

I'd be happy with 13 to 15. That would be 4 to 5 hundred recieving.

As awful as the offensive line is likely to be I seriously doubt they have more than 1,500 yards rushing total as a team. It's going to be Kolb chucking the farger 35 times a game until he gets slaughtered by a defense licking its chops.

im actually trying to remain positive about the line...i dont think its going to be great and maybe not even good but rather than expect an apocalypse i think it ends up being ok...put it this way when the season ends i bet there will be at least two other bigger reasons as to why the team didnt make the playoffs and defense will def be one of them
on the panic scale for the upcoming season the defense is a 9 and the OL a 5
shtein cobb is a 6 or 7

I for one can't wait to run some Sunday afternoon errands, and post in game threads.

I think Bell is going to get the goal line touches, along with Weezy.
