Witherspoon is going to sign with the Titans. I am fairly sure the Bird's FO thought, "Ha, this clown will come groveling back to us once he sees what the market bears him." Now they have pretty much zero plan for the LB group, and that's a fact, Jack.

The Eagles are farging jerkoffs.

The disregard towards the LB position is offensive.

Totally, entirely reasonable for his skill set and age, and the Birds probably would have gotten a little current team discount. Big bonus comes in the uncapped year, so teams with deep pockets won't even notice it.
Incrediblly reasonable, even if he eventually got pushed out of the starting spot by youunger talent. I am pretty dissapointed in this, I can't believe that they think what happened last year with the LB's, and looks like a lock to repeat this year, is an acceptable situation.

the linebacker position has been ignored or failed at since the beginning of time....in years that actually mattered...and now everyone is up in arms over will farging witherspoon...i dont get it

if anything maybe its a sign that they go with a linebacker in rounds 1 or 2 this year...and if it does im thrilled with letting him go

i dont have too much of an issue with letting witherspoon go. assuming they would draft LB in the early rounds is a reach to say the least but let's just say they do considiering they may get extra picks via trades. who should they go after ?

Why is everyone so worked up over losing Will farging Witherspoon, he had one really good game, and then all but disappeared for the last 2 months of the season?

Is that a rhetorical question?

Look at the other LBs on the roster.

Now tell me:  would Witherspoon improve that group?

If you say "no," then we don't have much to talk about.

so what did you want witherspoon to do ...have 7 int's? The guy did well for coming in half of the season, was always around the football and made solid tackles. more than I can say for the rest of the dolts manning the middle

like I mentioned before the guy was exposed in a a lot of situations because of the lack of communication on the field...so spoon became part of the problem. he wasnt burnt left and right, and if he did get burnt he was most likely forced to be lined up with a receiver. The guy was not worth $5 million dollars because the rest of scrub LB's on the team are not worth $5 million. easy decision for banner and reid

He was always around the football? Do you speak fluent cliche? Of course "he was always around the football". He played linebacker and they ran right at him.

The entire defense was terrible, again, why cry about will witherspoon? Jordan is better anyway and will presumably take that spot back from the almighty Witherspoon with the return of Bradley.

There's not a single player on that defense worth typing more than a sentence over. Fact.

you know how many scrub LB's get taken out of plays and arent even remotely close to the football? dont answer that.

listen, Im not even torn over this because Im used to it--as I know there are LB's that are better than witherspoon. its just the basic principle and philosophy that the eagles organization has with picking and plugging 7th rd players and expecting superb results because their defensive scheme is all world that drives me nuts.
