Watching “Jack Ryan” on Amazon Prime.   It started out good but it’s devolved into the usual stupidity associated with entertainment that requires a total suspension of disbelief.  I’m in the third episode and it’s pissing me off.

Finished it.  It got better.  The ending was ridiculous but satisfying.

I gave Disenchantment a shot on Netflix. I don't think I'll finish it. I'd probably be better off watching Futurama again if I wanted that kind of thing.

the killer was revealed in episode 2 but sharp objects had nothing to do with the crime and everything to do with the time

it was everything true detective was desperate to be and tried so hard....sharp objects was effortlessly brilliant

Binged on Succession this week.  Not done yet but what a good farging show.

just flew through succession as well.  I wasn’t excited to start and was lukewarm but really ended up enjoying it.

Gave up on the Man in the High Castle after 7 episodes.

I almost quit on this show.  I actually said enough already after trying to figure out the whole films scenario but I was traveling last month and after a long day of travel I was ready to hit the sack. Watched it as I knew it would knock me out faster than an ambien. Decided to suck it up and finished season 2.  Season 3 starts up in October.  I read somewhere this series cost a shteinload to make.

Someone pointed out earlier on this thread bad writing when you actually appreciate the Japanese and German characters over the boring Americans.

It's never horrible. It's never very good. It's the most steady, mediocre show on TV. Fascinating setting, but everything else is kinda dumb. It needed better writers.

I do actively root for most of the Americans on the show to be killed, too. They aren't even one dimensional characters. They are zero dimensional, completely empty and uninteresting. We're just supposed to root for them because they aren't Nazis.

Finished the first season of Patriot (on Prime) last night. Interesting premise with a quirky presentation that's kind of fun. It doesn't hurt to have a hot French speaking actress as well.

It looks like Amazon renewed it for a second season. Looking forward to it.
