One of the biggest underachievers in history. This was arguably the most talented team in hockey, plus they have arguably the best coach in hockey. They are the biggest quitters I've ever seen. I lost all respect for this team, because I don't root for quitters.

Hitch lied when he said they would come to play in game 6.

They're not even close to being one of the most talented teams in the league. They're maybe top 10 talent wise. You're overrating the talent on this team big time.

I disagree.

There is a reason they were the early favorites or one of the favorites for the Stanley Cup. They were a great team on paper.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

A lot of that had to do with the Forsberg and Hatcher signings IMO.

Buffalo isn't going nowhere, which is going to show how much of a joke the Flyers were this series.

So because Forsberg gets hurt a lot, somehow that makes him less talented?

no it just makes him a total liability. like theres no way hes playing 70 games this year and i have no idea if hes going to be healthy for the playoffs. hes a great player, but wayyyyy too fragile.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I'll never say that unless it happens. There are some teams I'll never admit that I think could win a cup in sports and the Devils are one of them.

I wish I had that power, it would save me a lot of grief.

They're peaking at just the right time.  Carolina and Ottawa are darn good, though.

Now that the Flyers are gone  :'(, I'll be pulling for Brind'Amour and the Canes.

The Devils have a knack for peaking at the right time, it all starts with Brodeur.

I won't watch the playoffs now that the Flyers are out of it. The NBA and NHL playoffs bore me to death.

It may finally be Ottawa's year...

As for the Flyers, they set an NHL record with man games lost.  Not having Johnsson killed them, they weren't as disciplined and used to the new rules as Buffalo was, the defense was brutal, and the rookies didn't show up.  Someone on a postgame (I forget if it was OLN or CSN) said they wouldn't be surprised if Esche was traded to Detroit....

i call bs...did they miss him i guess...would the series have been any different...absolutely not...i hope more people dont use this as an excuse...

the problem with this team from day one and i said so before the season started was its lack of goal scoring in a league that emphasized offense...they had a dearth of talent up front and it showed
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Yes he is, if you need further proof, see:
- The Javon Walker guarantee
- We'll draft a WR if we don't get Javon Walker guarantee
- Day of the draft Walker was worth 2 2nds. After he's traded he wasn't worth a 2nd and a 4th
- Both Esche and Nitty are better than Luongo
- The Devils are overrated and will be swept.
- Brodeur is washed up
- Any post regarding this series

His college basketball predictions are even better.
