I really cant see why Brashear is even in the lineup.  He played a total of 4 mins in the entire 3 periods plus double OT.  He actually came out there and mixed it up when he hit the ice but if Hitch has no intention of playing him then give up the spot to Branko or Eager who can skate and throw bodies around.

totally agree sea...in the regular season he serves a purpose...but he has no business being on the ice in the playoffs..especially against a team like buffalo

"Brawl"..."big fight"..."lots of hard pushing"....whatever you want to call it, they didn't just stand around and take it like bitches.  They wanted to win for everyone, not just for R.J.  They didn't.  Oh well.

ice grillin you

i just think when your player is murdered like that you have to somehow someway find a way to win the game...and they didnt do it...and to this minute im still disgusted by it

buffalo is laughing so hard...not only did they skate circles around the flyers but they knocked a player to sleep as well

The Flyers were dominated yet still had a better than average chance to win the game on Saturday.

Buffalo might have played their best game and still only managed to squeak out a win in double overtime in their house.

To me, that means that if the Flyers 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines start contributing in any meaninful way to the offensive side of things and Esche continues to play in a stellar fashion, Buffalo is in serious trouble.  They were damn lucky to pull out that game the other night and from my perspective, they couldn't have played any better.

As for the Umberger thing, hits like that happen in hockey.  Paybacks are a motherfarging bitch too.  Campbell will get his before the series is out.  You can bet every cent in your piggy banks on that.

Only because Esche played out of his mind.  If he comes down to earth at all, the team gets massacred.

except youre convienantly forgetting that while buffalo may not play that well again neither will esche...he could be real good dont get me wrong...but even if he is buffalo will finish their chances better next time...so instead of getting 50+ shots and three goals...they get 30 shot and four or five goals...and the flyers do not have nearly enough scoring in their lineup to keep up...thats why ive said all along that abiove all else a lack of scoring is what will doom them

There are lots of scenarios that could take place.  I doubt the Flyers give up 40-plus shots again in three periods.  I doubt they get zero offensive contribution from their other lines.

Like I said, the Flyers played pretty poorly in the first two periods, much worse than any of us would have expected.

Assuming they elevate their play and Esche plays just as well (which he's certainly capable of) then the Flyers have every reason to expect to win.

Rome

Why do some of you expect the worst all the time?

Who is to say that Esche won't continue to be awesome in the net?  Assuming he'll surrender 4-5 goals on 30 shots seems ridiculous to me considering his GAA for the season was nowhere near that.

The Flyers are going to play better than they did the other night.  Buffalo can't possibly play any better.  IMO, and from what I observed, they shot their wad, fellas, and barely came out of it alive.  Expecting that same sort of effort from them is what's truly impossible to imagine.

theres more chance that buffalo skates circles around the flyers again than esche has another game like that

buffalo is never again going 0-9 on the power play either

you can spin the game to your liking on both sides...the bottom line is the sabres are a better hockey team
