Davone Bess meanwhile is going through a Titus Young style breakdown.

10 months ago - Involuntarily committed to a hospital by his family. Took six cops to restrain him while he yelled "Hide the guns!" "Where is my weed?" and "I want to get in the end zone; throw me the football!"

Dec 21 - Placed on the non-football/reserve list for unspecified reasons

Jan 16 - tweeted pictures of blunts

Yesterday - weird altercation with police while "under the influence of an unknown narcotic"

QuoteBut Bess' troubles escalated Friday when an officer working a TSA detail approached him in the airport concourse after several people pointed out his bizarre behavior. He was "acting irrationally, dancing, singing with his pants repeatedly falling down," according to a report written by Thomas O'Brien.

The officer tried speaking to Bess, who grabbed a cup of coffee not belonging to him and squeezed it, causing the drink to land on the officer. Bess took a "fighting stance" at which time the officer struck him in the leg with a baton, according to the report. Bess removed his shirt and remained in the stance, ignoring the officer's command to drop to the ground.

Mr. Suave has been on NFL network lately. I guess being on NFL network doesn't preclude one from being arrested on the suspicion of rape.

Davone Bess, long list of June Jones' finest.

Colt Brennen - drunk, rape charge at CU Boulder before transferring to Hawaii

Pisa Tinasamoa - charged with beating the shtein out of someone in Oceanside CA during a brawl

Bess had some shtein going on to before coming to Hawaii.  That was one reason for Jones success here.  He took a chance on a lot of kids no one would touch.

Quote"The lawyer for Hugh Douglas says the former NFL defensive end will plead no contest to a misdemeanor to resolve a Connecticut case that accused him of assaulting his girlfriend at a Hartford hotel. The attorney, Corey Brinson, told The Associated Press on Friday that he expects Douglas to plead to breach of peace and avoid a jail sentence Monday in Hartford." Douglas played much of his career with the Eagles.

More on Hugh (http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2014/02/07/hugh-douglas-nfl-assault-espn-bryn-mawr/5287403/)

QuoteHartford police said the alleged assault occurred at the Hartford Marriott Downtown hotel in the early morning hours of Sept. 22. The woman, who was not identified, first told police that nothing happened, but then claimed Douglas grabbed her by her neck in a hallway and slammed her against the walls several times while carrying her back to their room during an argument, according to a police report.

Douglas told an officer that the woman's neck injury was from "rough sex," the report says.

In the NFL, rapists are a dime a dozen. You could probably fill a roster with them, but guys who'll tell a teammate they want to take a shtein in their mouth are pretty rare.

QuoteFred Davis is having a bad week.

Just a day after being suspended indefinitely by the league for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, Davis has now run into trouble off the field as well. According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, Davis was arrested Thursday and charged with a DUI.

Davis was set to become a free agent next month. Davis said in a statement Wednesday that he was expecting to be able to apply for reinstatement to the league in the fall.
Wonder what he's up to tomorrow?

QuoteChaka cross-examination of Davis, April 10, 2012

Chaka: Well, let's look at your document. It says December the 3rd, 2012. What's today's date, Mr. Davis?

Davis: I don't know. I don't know.

Chaka: What's the date of today?

Davis: I don't know what today is. All I know is I had court today.

Chaka: You don't know what today's date is? His document is not even valid.

Davis: What are you talking about? . . .

Chaka: Well, according to your statement, to bullet No. 5, it says that this event happened December 3rd, 2012.

Davis: Okay, and, what about it?

Chaka: Has December 3rd, 2012 even happened yet?

Davis: What?

Chaka: What? That's the same thing I'm saying, Mr. Davis.

Davis: It was a misprint. Okay, December 3rd, 2011, okay, great.

QuoteWitnesses: Aldon Smith taken into custody at LAX

Police at Los Angeles International Airport say they took a 25-year-old San Jose man into custody today after he became belligerent after going through security and saying something about having a bomb. Witnesses, some of whom have video of the incident, said the suspect is 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith. Smith is 24 and turns 25 in September.

LAX authorities said the suspect is in the process of being booked with the Los Angeles Police Department and that his identity won't be released until that is complete. A statement from the airport police reads:

"At approximately 1400 hrs, a 25-year-old male resident of San Jose, California, was going through Terminal 1 screening and was randomly selected for a secondary screening. The suspect then became belligerent and uncooperative with the process and with the TSA agent, making a comment indicating that he was in possession of a bomb before proceeding towards the gate area. Los Angeles Airport Police made contact with him at the gate and he was positively identified as the person in question. Once again the male subject became uncooperative and he was detained and taken into custody by Airport Police and is currently being transported to LAPD for booking."

According to a witness, the incident began at the Southwest Airlines ticket counter at which point Smith was told he would not be allowed on the plane. After going through security, the witness said Smith was in line at McDonald's when he was approached by security personnel. He ran toward the gate, became belligerent, said something about a bomb and was taken into custody by five officers.

Smith has been arrested twice since 2012 for DUI and also is facing weapons charges relating to a sprawling house party that got out of control in 2012. Smith was stabbed at that party. In addition, he was involved in a rollover car crash near his home in San Jose in 2012.

Following his most recent DUI arrest in September, in which Smith was found passed out in a truck that came to a stop in a residential front yard, Smith checked himself into a rehabilitation program and missed six weeks of the season.

Asked last month how Smith was doiing, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said the progress was good and that he was encouraged by how Smith handles himself after returning from rehabilitation. "Thought he did a good job in all of those regards, as a player, as a teammate, decisions he was making," Harbaugh said. "Very encouraged."

Not all taterskin players are idiots

QuoteRyan Clark: Handling of Irsay shows hypocrisy of the NFL

At the NFL meetings in Atlanta this week, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that he was holding off on any discipline for Colts owner Jim Irsay "until we have more information and more facts."

Irsay was arrested on charges of vehicle while intoxicated and felony possession of a controlled substance earlier this year and spent some time in rehab before returning to work this week to play a role in Indianapolis' unsuccessful bid for Super Bowl LII. In his frequent offseason role as an ESPN talking head, taterskins safety Ryan Clark criticized Goodell and the league for not acting to discipline Irsay already.

Clark pointed to Goodell's decision to suspend Clark's former Steelers teammate Ben Roethlisberger in 2010 when Roethlisberger was neither charged with a crime nor arrested after being accused of sexual assault. Clark said allowing Irsay to be part of this week's meetings "shows the hypocrisy of the NFL and also Roger Goodell in the way that he deals with players and the way he deals for the people he works for."

"So when has having enough information been what Roger Goodell waits for to make these decisions?" Clark said on "First Take." "When does a charge necessarily warrant the penalty? We've seen in so many cases, Roger Goodell be judge and jury when it comes to players," Clark said. "So here we have Jim Irsay, a guy, an owner, who has history of substance abuse, who's found in a car with over $29K and prescription drugs that weren't in his name, pulled over for driving under the influence, and now we're saying we need more information? What more information do we need than these aren't your prescription pills? You're obviously under the influence. You have $29k. There would be no questions asked if this was a player."

The longer the league takes to deal with the Irsay situation, the more people are likely to come around to Clark's view that there's a different standard for owners even though the league has said Irsay is eligible for discipline.

Very possible. Week 2 is against Baltimore. The league would have to move fast to make any suspensions effective for Week 1, and given the circumstances I could see them slowing this decision down to avoid the Ravens game.

Dwayne Bowe recently got one game for marijuana possession in his car. Bell was hotboxing a Camaro and was hit with a DUI as well, so he could be looking at more time.

so a video of a women being dragged out of an elevator after being knocked out = her fault

but a video of the same women actually being knocked out = doods fault

thats the only thing that can explain the outrage today right?

There are people in this country who want to hunt and kill people based upon race or sexual orientation...of course a healthy batch of people are going to be OK with a little roughhousing with the Mrs. After all, she was "asking for it."

Basically people made excuses because they don't care about spousal abuse (SD) or are Ravens fans concerned about winning stupid football games (Dio). The video was the smoking gun 99% of people couldn't avoid.

http://6abc.com/300715/

Quote"I woke up this morning, feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," she wrote. "But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare itself. No one know the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing.

"To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happines away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

Ray Rice is a piece of shtein but it's kind of bullshtein that he got his 2 game punishment (fair or not) and the league can arbitrarily change it based on video of an event they already knew happened.  it was in the charge that he knocked her unconscious in the elevator.  so that fact was never in doubt and that got him 2 games.  now the video comes out and he gets another punishment for the same act.  the nflpa should be fighting that but they won't because it's not good PR for them, but that's what they are there for.

That's my problem with it (and that's too strong of a word for the amount I actually care). If people were lining up to do the right thing, that would be awesome. But everyone already knew what happened, and based the established reactions (right or wrong) based on what they knew. Now, it's become a witch hunt PR game. It's certainly not a new turn of events, but the everyone is looking to cover their own asses by going over the top with the reactions to the thing they already knew happened. It's not about "getting it right" or "doing the right thing," It's about, "Oh, shtein, I need to save my ass." So, pretty business as usual.

technically, it's not right at all.  they gave him a punishment, and then when video came out of something they already knew they gave him another punishment.  how can you get punished for the same act twice.  obviously nobody cares because it's a guy who punched his wife and no one is going to defend him but just arbitrarily increasing punishment because you feel like it is bullshtein.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that she has gotten back together with Chris Brown several times after the beatings. Not because she was a victim. Or maybe I've giving these clowns too much credit. Regardless, Rihanna is intolerable but I would stare at her hotness for days.

Agreed on all counts but it just looks like another example of cowering to fear of what might happen.

Also - she's probably been scheduled to appear for a while, right?  Why wait until the afternoon of the game to announce she's been cut from the program?

It's like they're intentionally going out of their way in making every possible wrong turn at this point.   If the subject matter wasn't so pathetic and sad, it would be quite humorous.

Awesome.

Also, Sunny is on point. You don't punish someone and then implement a harsher punishment because the video gets out and makes people uncomfortable.  The league is punishing a player to make up for their own farg up.

After the public backlash,  Rog implements the 6 game/lifetime ban but he still kept Rice @ 2 games because he already punished him. What has changed?  Nothing.

Once you hand out a punishment,  that's it. It's done.  If this indefinite suspension isn't challenged and reversed, it sets a horrible precident.

Title: Re: 2014 Arrested NFL People

Without a doubt he would not have been suspended indefinitely nor cut from Baltimore had that second part of the video been released.

The NFL righted their wrong because they were caught trying to cover that shtein up.

The Ravens righted their wrong because of the release of the video - they too were trying to cover it up and not release or discipline a good player because of football reasons. They reek of empty statements and actions because they should have suspended him immediately once they found out. But no, they protected him. They promoted him.

The fact remains that the video was shown and it visualized to everyone what he really did and the fact is that he deserves the harsh punishments that have come his way.

I hate to go the "regular Joe" angle here...but in this case it applies (unlike when people try to liken contract disputes to their jobs)...if any normal citizen would have been videotaped beating their girlfriend/wife/whoever unconscious they would have been in jail immediately and no bullshtein pretrial intervention or plea deal would have been struck. The full weight of the law would have been levied upon them. So in that regard Rice still gets off easy because he isn't locked the farg up.

Truth be told, I dont think he should have been suspended at all. But that's because I completely disagree with employers punishing people for personal actions or decisions away from the workplace.

Deck a cheerleader during the game, suspended. Cold cock your girl in AC, suit up.

Once again people are arguing procedural bullshtein. Why are some people compelled to defend a person's actions based on technicalities?

Look I'm completely sympathetic to the separation of work and life. I have a set of values that don't necessarily line up with the society at large, so I get the argument. But some shtein is just farging wrong. And if I am the face of my company, a household name for millions of people, and my video taped behavior directly impacts the public opinion of my company, I expect to get fired if I am caught on tape punching my hot fiancée in the farging face.

So argue with that, douches.

It's not a defence of Ray Rice's actions in the least, but rather a condemnation of the way the league handled the entire thing. The league saw the video and decided on 2 games. The only reason the punishment changed is because the video went public, but its not like she was any less unconscious before the video got out.

Companies don't have faces. People have faces. Companies are not people, right? This whole "you represent your employer" shtick is some shtein made up buy crusty old white dudes as a means of controlling their employees around the clock.

Oh,  you want a paycheck next week?  Do your job from 9-5 and then don't do anything to embarrass me between 5-9 that might cut into my profits.

I don't buy into shtein. My point was simply that actions have consequences and that the nature of those consequences exist on a sliding scale. For better or worse when ten million fantasy football nerds know who Ray Rice is, part of the job description is not cold cocking your fiancée. Whether you're on the clock or not.

Actually thats only part of my point. The other part is, farg anyone that cold cocks their fiancée. And consider me completely unmoved by appeals to the separation between work and play when play involves decking your girl til she sleep.

he was terminated before the league even did anything extra. the "suspended indefinitely" was a PR move that is utterly meaningless. he will not serve 1 game of a real suspension if someone decides to sign him next season. nobody was/is touching now him anyway.

and everyone was like what?...you are the nfl with mad ex cia and fbi working your security and you cant get this video?

then goodell says well there are legal blockades to the casino releasing that video
and nj state law enforcement was like there was nothing preventing revel from givign the nfl that tape

then rog says well i dont know what to tell you but no one in the nfl had ever seen that video before monday
and a voice mail from a high ranking exectutive in the nfl was like this video is uh horrible (this is in addition to chris mortenson having talked to someone in the nfl who told him how bad the video was back in may)

in other words mort and the nj state police were able to find people in the nfl offices who had seen the video but goodell couldnt?

so then after all that roger is still like well I havent seen it

i mean what do people need to believe goodell saw it?
a video of him watching the video?

I am not sure but I think that even though Goodell said 6 games on domestic violence that falls under the personal conduct policy and that is open to adjustment on a case by case basis. The PCP is not collectively bargained so what Goodell says goes. Sure the union could fight it but throwing support behind AD in this case? Bad bad PR move.

Also - AD has been charged with injury to a child and there are a couple different ways that can go. if it is a state jail felony then he will likely get sentenced to 6mo-2yr (state jail max is 2yrs). If he is in the upper class felony then he is looking at penitentiary time

So yeah...he's done if found guilty. And the evidence is pretty overwhelming.

His lawyer admits that he did it. They have texts saying he did it in his own words. They have pics.

The only legal thread, I think, his lawyer (Rusty Hardin - well known and top dollar obviously) has is that the first grand jury no billed it and then it was re-submitted.

im not saying i agree with it but hes gonna get way less than you think because hes arguing that he was just punishing his child in the same manner as he was punished by his father....to me that screams counseling way more than ray rice who only got counseling

and i actually believe that ad was just doing what his father did to him....similar to how mike vick thought nothing of dog fighting because that was a culture he grew up in or around...i dont think ad is a child abuser in the same way i believe ray rice is a women beater

No doubt...you're right. In his interview with the cops he mentioned a bunch how that is what he knows and that is what was done to him.

But I wonder how much weight that carries?

Will he go for a plea? If it gets to a jury then I think he will not get off

first of all neanderthal she didnt hit him first...but lets say she did...you still dont knock her out...and before you come up with the hypothetical 'well what if she was coming at you with a knife' scenario...well just dont

secondly every kid deserves a good whippin...i got em you got em we all got em...ad went over the line clearly and needs to be taught parenting lessons but there is a line in punishing a child whereas you NEVER hit a women

Anyone who whips a 4 year-old with a goddamn tree branch belongs in prison for a long, long stretch.  Just to be clear, Rice is a vile piece of shtein who belongs in the same cell alongside Petersen.

In terms of degree, however, viciously assaulting a defenseless toddler takes the prize for worst human.

if there was some systematic abuse where he was putting swisher sweets out on the kids back or had him locked in a basement for months on end then yeah....I don't even have a problem throwing ad in county for 30 days then parenting classes....but throwing him in the state pen for a "long long stretch"....nah

Spanking/whipping/whatever you want to call it isn't wrong as much as it's pointless. If spanking a kid truly modified behavior and was a positive teaching tool, then it would only need to be done 1 time. But ask any person who grew up getting spankings and most will tell you they go multiple spankings during their childhood.

It's lazy parenting.

You don't whip a kid's ass either.  I do not and have never spanked my child.  To do so is grotesque beyond words.   And just because your father took the belt to you doesn't mean his actions were acceptable, IGY.  They're weren't.

I disagree with corporal punishment in any form.  The end.

The public only knew of three of Peterson's children, before news surfaced of a fourth, a 2-year-old son, Tyrese, who died last week after he was allegedly beaten by the mother's current boyfriend.

Judging other peoples parenting is like a farging cottage industry. My point is not that it's ok to take a switch to a kid. It isn't. My point is that we can't just expect everyone to know that it's not okay when they were raised with it themselves. It's a problem of education, something that most parents are severely lacking. So get him some counseling/education and let's move on.

I got my fair share of whoopings as a kid, too and I don't begrudge either of my parents for doing it.  I was acting like a fleshpop and pissed them off.  I spanked my kids a couple of times when they were younger....probably up until both of them turned 6 or 7.  They were being dicks and pissed me off.

And that's the only problem I really have with it.  My parents didn't spank me to teach me anything.  They did it because they were pissed.  I didn't spank my kids to teach them something.  I did it because I was pissed.

I just don't think it's nearly as effective as most people believe it to be.  Because if it did, then there'd be a lot more people acting right in the world.  I also don't get my underoos twisted when I see someone else spank their kid (as long as they aren't beating him/her), but I do think they could take alternative actions that would be more beneficial.  The only thing a spanking really teaches a kid is that it's ok to hit someone when they don't do what you want them to.

regardless of what you think about it, someone wrote a pretty solid statement for him.

QuoteMy attorney has asked me not to discuss the facts of my pending case. I hope you can respect that request and help me honor it. I very much want the public to hear from me but I understand that it is not appropriate to talk about the facts in detail at this time. Nevertheless, I want everyone to understand how sorry I feel about the hurt I have brought to my child.

I never wanted to be a distraction to the Vikings organization, the Minnesota community or to my teammates. I never imagined being in a position where the world is judging my parenting skills or calling me a child abuser because of the discipline I administered to my son.

I voluntarily appeared before the grand jury several weeks ago to answer any and all questions they had. Before my grand jury appearance, I was interviewed by two different police agencies without an attorney. In each of these interviews I have said the same thing, and that is that I never ever intended to harm my son. I will say the same thing once I have my day in court.

I have to live with the fact that when I disciplined my son the way I was disciplined as a child, I caused an injury that I never intended or thought would happen. I know that many people disagree with the way I disciplined my child. I also understand after meeting with a psychologist that there are other alternative ways of disciplining a child that may be more appropriate.

I have learned a lot and have had to reevaluate how I discipline my son going forward. But deep in my heart I have always believed I could have been one of those kids that was lost in the streets without the discipline instilled in me by my parents and other relatives. I have always believed that the way my parents disciplined me has a great deal to do with the success I have enjoyed as a man. I love my son and I will continue to become a better parent and learn from any mistakes I ever make.

I am not a perfect son. I am not a perfect husband. I am not a perfect parent, but I am, without a doubt, not a child abuser. I am someone that disciplined his child and did not intend to cause him any injury. No one can understand the hurt that I feel for my son and for the harm I caused him. My goal is always to teach my son right from wrong and that's what I tried to do that day.

I accept the fact that people feel very strongly about this issue and what they think about my conduct. Regardless of what others think, however, I love my son very much and I will continue to try to become a better father and person.

its really unbelievable how many people are pro-child abuse

a real eye opener for me. not only how often it happens, but how glowingly people talk about it. like this 4 year old is better because his ogre (absentee) father took a branch to his pre pubescent nutsack. this country is disgusting.

thats another thing nobody is talking about. AP has like 6 kids with 5 different women. the 1 time a year he sees this kid he decides to abuse him. great parenting. the therapy bills hes going to have to pay in 6 years...

Quote"I definitely will try to — will obviously not leave bruises or anything like that on her. But I definitely will discipline her harshly depending on what the situation is."

When asked if he'd use a tree branch "switch" like Peterson did on his four-year-old son, Bush said "I would possibly consider it, depending on what she did."

In fact it was a gang rape with Patrick Willis, Ahmad Brooks, and Justin Smith in there too.

Pretty sure the main thing Allred is going after is keeping her name in the news. Which is not to say that this isn't a valid allegation. There probably is at least one oafish NFL player raping someone every Saturday night, or two if Roethlisberger has a Sunday night away game.
