Are you farging kidding me? (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10410478)
We have great stadiums in this country (like the Linc) that will never get a Super Bowl, but Roger's talking about taking one overseas? That's farging ridiculous.
Same exact thought I had as SOON as I read your thread title.
I am so sick of this expanding the farging league bullshtein. NFL Europe didn't work, NBA overseas bullshtein doesn't work.
Keep it HERE where the fans have MADE THE LEAGUE FOR YOU! :boom
I can't really get behind the outright indignancy at this point, because actual fans don't really get to see the Superbowl even if it's in their own backyards. That said, I think it's an idea that borders on retarded, and I don't see it happening anytime soon.
tryin to get my hands on some grants like horace
its all about the benjamins baby

That's the only reason why I'm not completely outraged about this. Super Bowl tickets are completely out of reach for the average joe.....like me. So it's not like an opportunity is being taken away from me.
I still think it's a bad idea but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. The game will look the same on my tv no matter where it's played. The one thing that might be awesome about it is that since London is like 5 or 6 hours ahead of us, the game would probably be starting somewhere around 3pm est instead of coming on at "prime time" which means I can get drunk, watch the game and still get to bed at a decent hour........which technically means I'll be gaining sleep over it.
the 30 thousand eagles fans in all tell stadium say (http://chat2.globalpinoy.com/images/emoticons/wave.gif)
You have reason to complain igy. But that's only because there is no Amtrak running from DC to London.
The only thing that could be worse than watching my team lose the Super Bowl is knowing that I would have traveled all the way to London to see it happen.

so the only factor for US cities in getting the Super Bowl is good weather, yet they would think about having it in london. we todd did.
the game would start at 1000 london time if the superbowl was there. goodell is probably just expounding on some ideas.
hey, heres an idea: move the pro bowl to london. the euros get to see the all the stars, the game means nothing, everyone wins.
you already have players that don't want to go to paradise and play...if you move the game to somewhere with permanent cloud cover there is a good chance matt schoebel will get significant playing time

Only if Reid starts losing NFC Championship Games and thus coaching Pro Bowls again.
Fine with me. Have it in Baghdad for all I care.
Wait....so a city like Philly can't get a super bowl becausue of "bad weather"...since when the hell does London have great weather in February??

Yes....When I'm on a message board I tend to read a story and then post my reaction to it...imagine that.

Maye it has, like, 70,000 people named Winston and Charles and Beuford and a bunch of other crumpet eating Hoydas who shouldn't be allowed to attend an NFL football game.

Funny. It seems to me that you read a story and then posted the most obvious opinion you could imagine that had already been brought up several times and was implied in absolutely everyone's response.
You all suck.
Except me. I don't give a farg where they stage the circus. I rule.

I don't read every single reply in every thread. I read the story, and it irked me so much that I felt like responding immediately. I'm sorry I didn't know it was wrong to have the same opinion as another person in the same thread. Of course I guess I could have been original and talked about AIDS.
No. Just die. AIDS is fine, but if you can't find any, I'll accept an open vein.
unless you go to the superbowl every year why would this story "irk" you....the only time i would even remotely care if the superbowl was overseas is if the eagles were in it....and i dont expect to ever see that again
I think it should be played in Montana one year. That would be nice. Or maybe Oregon. Any state that no one thinks about.
yawn.... unless you are crying about a longer flight to the game, who cares.
the rest of the world should be able to get in on our game.
Horrible idea for all the reasons mentioned. The only way this would be at all reasonable is if it were contingent on the FA Cup final being staged in the US. That way, it would ensure that the two most important "football" games of the season would each be contested before a live audience that is 90% apathetic and 10% underinformed.
each be contested before a live audience that is 90% apathetic and 10% underinformed.
unless you get a philly or pittsburgh type fanbase thats what superbowls are now anyway
Not to mention that the Super Bowl would still sell out in London. The FA Cup final wouldn't fill a high school stadium in the US.
