I want to see 63 points.
farg you, New Jersey Giant Douches!
The Giants are 29th against the pass,17th against the rush, 24th overall. It should be a good game.
Their dbs are horrid but they started using their personel in better spots. Kiwanuka has been a disaster at the SAM spot but last week they sent him after the QB and he was effective. Their d is slow and if the Eagles offense is on they should be able to put up an easy 25-30 points.
Defensively the Eagles will be tested, the Giants O-line is excellent in run blocking and Burress usually gives them match up problems. I'm expecting Manning to throw at least 1 pick.
manning is improved over last season. the running game isnt as deadly with tiki but ward is not a quick lil back and he can give the eagles troubles. their offense is pretty good with shockey and burress.
defensively they suck but they are going to play ross more and he seems to have a pulse. if the eagles can set up the run i think the 2ndary is so slow even reggie brown might catch pass.
gonna need a merge or a delete here
edit: gold standard mod is on it
That was quick, only a minute apart and Murph was on it quicker than that.
i know shorebird, igy, seabiscuit and others get fired up for taterskins week more than others because of living down there...well it's the same for me for Giants week.
i hate the Giants and want to beat them more than any team on the schedule.
farg new york
i live in nyc. all my relatives live here. all my football watching relatives love the giants.
if they lose... :boom
Lived in NY for 8 years, hate those fargers.
My brother in law and his whole family are die-hard Giants fans.
Kill the Giants. Manning sucks.

I'm with you...I have always hated the giants more than the other rivals...
I feel some pity for NY fans. Like a man pities a cockroach, you understand. Pity, contempt...pity, contempt. What's the difference?
They root for the likes of Coughlin, Eli, Shockey, Plaxico, and Strahan. That's a hard lot to call your own, right there.
I've grown to dislike them more over the years. Back in the eighties, they were a smashmouth team that earned the respect of a lot of NFC East fans. Now, after all the crap when Manning was drafted by San Diego, and guys like friggen' loudmouthed egomaniac Shockey, Gappy, and Tiki, I can say I hate them almost as much as the farging taterskins.
the worst was last year i had to go to Jersey City the monday after the Eagles blew the big league in week 2 last year, i got abused all day...it was not pretty.
Eagles open as 3-point favorites
living amongst them for years certainly affected me
the best was lucking out to free tickets "to the Giants game" and watching Westbrook return that punt all the way

I know how you feel. I listened to crap all last Monday.
i know many of each and there is simply not a comparison btwn giant and taterskin fans as far as douchebaggery
in fact of all the ny teams the giants fans are the least annoying (islanders dont count)...mostly because the team isnt a nyc team its a nj team with connecticut fans
as for the game right now i have absolutely no feeling one way or another...its exactly 50/50 as to whether the eagles will win or not
I think the Eagles take this one.
If the offense comes to play... it could get to look a little like the Lions game. Their secondary is that bad. I expect Burress to get his like he always does against us, but again... if the Eagles are on... they won't be able to keep up on the scoring. Eli will make enough mistakes to keep them at bay.
Call me crazy, but I'm starting to believe in the D-line and the run defense a little too so I think they'll be able to limit Ward enough to keep his gains minimal. This ain't Tiki anymore, afterall.
Here's my take:
Eagles must dominate this game and win by at least 10 for me to consider them a legit team.
If they keep the Giants in it and squeak it out and/or lose outright, they suck, should trade McNabb, fire Reid, and tank to get a better draft pick.
The thing is that this game should be a mirror image of the Detroit game because the Giants' defense is just as bad. Does anyone actually think that the Eagles will drop 50, or 40 or even 35 this week? No.
This game will come down to special teams. All 3 Giants receivers have a big day and Reggie Brown gets 2 TD's. High scoring game with Akers coming in at the end.

No way. 30+ would be a coup.
Andy always gets his team motivated for games right before bye weeks...
Every division game is tight no matter how crappy the teams are. It will be a cloase one. Keep Burress doubled. Keep Manning pressured and we're good.
Grandma Gangbang
Burress will probably light our defense up. He's equally good going deep or running short routes and slants, getting big yards after the catch. There isn't anyone on this D that can cover him one on one, and he beats double coverage a lot. Then there is Shockey. If he keeps his head and doesn't get any dumb ass penalties, he could burn our linebackers. Manning still will rattle fairly easy, I want to see this line knock him on his ass a few times, pressure him into throwing a pick or two. Also, it will be interesting to see if the D has continued succsess against the run. Force Manning to pass and blitz the shtein outta' him.
We have to run the ball and control the clock, keep Manning and Burress off the field as much as possible. It's almost that simple.

lol
the key is the d line pressure...manning is a bitch...a little pressure and hell be blindly winging up ducks as he turns away from the rush...on the other hand no pass rush means hell pick apart the d like he did in the 2nd half of the opener last year

hopefully Cole and Thomas keep it up. Put Kearse in as a blitzing LB up the middle. Maybe even activate Victor, cant be any worse than Kearse at end.
i want kearse covering burress

Why not? It would be impossible to do a worse job on Burress than the Eagles have in the past.

I'm using this info and starting Reggie Brown in the keeper league this week. Because if there's one thing that people on this board would say about you, it's that you have a reputation of clearly putting a lot of time and thought into the things you say before posting. You're not one of those idiots who posts illogical nonsense and I think I speak for everyone when I say thanks for that.
considering the attention that curtis will get now, brown might have a decent game this week.
anyway i hope the team is not underestimating the giants. they just got a huge lift this past week and you never know if that might carry over.
their defense stinks, especially the secondary, the eagles SHOULD win.
considering the attention that curtis will get now
curtis has been in the league for five years now...teams know what he cant and cant do...defensive coordinators are not message board posters who never heard of kevin curtis before sunday and now will quadruple cover him
curtis might have a game because the giants secondary sucks but the attention he gets this week wont be any different than what he would have gotten two weeks ago
in other words reggie is getting the same coverage this week that he had against gb and wash and they both better know they arent gonna be running against a baby butt soft two deep this week...its gonna be back to a jam session so their asses better be working on getting off the line this week in practice

word. the people here are so football stupid that i'm actually getting it 10x worse with skins fans saying how much better their throwbacks are the ours, then last week when they actually beat us.
The Eagles should win. But they'll also pass at least 65%, because the secondary is clearly awful. That keeps it closer than it should be. Plus, the Giants receiving corps is a touch matchup for the Birds d.
Then again, they gave up 443 yds passing last week and won by 5 touchdowns. Maybe it doesn't matter.

Reid is 3-5 the week before the bye (only one win in the last six years) and 8-0 after the bye.
Less than 70 and I'll be disappointed.

All that stat means is that the odds are in our favor.
At least, thats what I'm telling myself.
The Eagles should beat the Giants.
Of course, that doesn't mean anything.
I think it will be a tough game. If the Eagles go in there and beat them convincingly then I'll be pretty well assured that they are back on track. I'm curious to see how the offense does after such a great game. They won't score 56 again, but I hope they can at least put together consistent scoring drives.

Ha! At least you're keeping the bar low.
Eagles 30
Gints 23
Am I the only one thinking Schobel takes LJ's job this week?

Although to be fair, in previous seasons the Eagles defense was often distracted by a Giants running back who regularly combined for 200 yards against them.

Good point, one I hadn't thought about. This will be the first Giants game without Tiki in a long time.
Burress also has a severly sprained anke and did not practive today. So severe they got a 2nd opinion to make sure nothing was torn. He will probably play, but will be limited.
Jacobs is out, Ward did not practice on wednesday (although for RB's this seems to be pretty normal).
I'm sure Schokey is hurt, somehow.
jacobs is out really? i thought i read somewhere that he practiced and is ready to go.

QuoteNews: Giants WR Plaxico Burress got some good news about his badly sprained right ankle. The second opinion on the ankle showed it was nothing more than a bad sprain, and that Burress can continue his current course of treatment. Burress will continue practicing on a limited basis about one day a week and intends to play Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles at Giants Stadium. "When I feel good enough to go and practice, I'll practice," Burress said after watching Thursday's workout. Burress was examined on Wednesday by Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, N.C. His diagnosis of a serious sprain agreed with the diagnosis of Dr. Russ Warren, the Giants orthopedic surgeon.

Jacobs had a limited practice yesterday, but he's not likely to play versus the Eagles.

possibly no will james.
burress will have a huge game.
It's too bad LJ Smith has a yeast infection because the Giants ability to cover the TEs has been laughable. Mathias Kiwanuka at SAM LB is worse than The Gocong Experiment (which is not going too poorly).
Maybe Celek and Showboat can do something.
Shoebel runs the seam pass really well. Would like to see Celek get in there and compete (for some catches) at some point.
What the farg are they doing???
