I figured it was posted somewhere, but I didnt feel like searching through all sorts of yang to find it.

The freaking NFL locked the network 3 picks into the draft so I wasnt able to stay connected throughout. What a freaking day though  :yay

There really werent a lot of Giants fans...Mainly Jets, but we held it down pretty well. But, if I were a Giant fan, I'd be glad I didnt waste my day waiting to hear Kiwi's nae.  :-D

I was hoping Bunkley would be taking #52. Maybe he will change it when Short is cut.

Nice to see Avant in #81.

#11 is gay for a WR. Speaking of #11, I wonder how many Hollywood hookers Leinart is going to have to buy Larry Fitz to get #11 away from him in ARZ?

Good # for our newest FB.

i cant imagine a player switching numers at the end of camp anyway wouldnt his jerseys have been on sale by then...wouldnt be fair

yeah but i dont think they would even allow that...once a jersey goes on sale thats it...no switching numbers....it may be that rookie jerseys dont go on sale until the final roster is set tho...i dont know about this

pinkston wore #17 in his rookie camp, and it was changed before the season started

You'd think that would be a pretty lucrative business considering free agency hits people hard with all the player movement.

That's what I figured, Lad. Seems like it could be a decent Internet business.

Thanks for the suggestions, IGY and Murp. Unfortunately, I'm not close enough to those places.  :(

just give it to me at one of the tailgates and ill take it over and bring it back at the next tailgate.  I gotta get my Simon jersey changed over at some point anyway.
Title: Re: Jersey Numbers
Post by: ice grillin you on May 05, 2006, 12:55:39 PM
the reason its not a huge business is that most people dont have authentics and you wouldnt/couldnt do this on most replicas...for one a lot of replicas arent stitched and two with replicas being so cheap you might as well just buy a new one
Title: Re: Jersey Numbers
Post by: MURP on May 05, 2006, 12:56:44 PM
I was under the impression they could do the replicas as well.  Guess I better investigate further.
Title: Re: Jersey Numbers

The replicas I have do have the nameplate stitched on there.

I see there is a "Hello, Sports Fans" in Peddler's Village. I have to run to Glenside tomorrow...maybe I'll take a run up that way and talk to the folks.

some replicas you can...if the letters or plate is stitched....but its not cheap to switch out nameplates...and many times you can get great deals on replicas...so you just get a new one

spoke with Hello Sports fans.  They said they sew a new name plate over top of the previous name.  $25.

Where do you find the jersey deals IGY?  Im always stuck with about a $60 replica at Modells.

Post by: ice grillin you on May 05, 2006, 01:11:50 PM
ive never heard of nameplates being only 25...then again ive never heard of one going over the other...usually they are swapped out...but if they do a good job for 25 then by all means go for it

just periodically look around on the internet...forman mills often has great deals as well

I've got a nice selection of $9 Eagles jerseys from Foreman Mills. By Eagles jerseys I mean badly sewn together nylon mesh with numbers ironed on and nothing on the sleeves.

There's a company who does business out of King of Prussia that also does business on Ebay.  I got my Utley numbers and name plate from them for like 25 bucks or so.  Took it to a local sports store and they sewed everything on for 10 bucks.

Jersey looks great, btw.

Kelly's Sports in West Chester does it as well, I believe.

And while we are on the topic of jersey's...

Has anyone seen the crappy "official" Phillies jerseys that Modells sells?

The numbers and letters on the back and sleeve are just plain red numbers. And they are boxy with no white outlines like the real ones.

Alot of MLB jerseys they sell are like that, the Astros' home jerseys just have the black numbers, and their away jerseys have red numbers, no outlines or anything.

I checked with the dude at Hello (New Hope), and he said they do it for $30. I guess they charge an extra $5 for the trendy location and/or the transportation to the store in Cherry Hill, where they do the actual work.

LSB says the local sporting memorabilia store is selling authentic TO jerseys for really cheap. This could be worth the purchase and update to have a cool new authentic rookie jersey.   :-D
