QuoteToney-Calloway off!
By Aaron B. Dye
Heavyweight contender James Toney, 69-4-2, 43 KOs, 1 NC, has scrapped his upcoming bout with Rob Calloway, which was set to air live on The Best Damn Sports Show Period on December 15. According to his promoter Dan Goosen, the fight was canceled in favor of the prospect of facing newly crowned WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, 41-5-1, 33 KOs, sometime in early 2006. Rahman's future will be decided by the WBC as they decide who he shall face next. Oleg Maskaev, who recently won the number one position in the WBC, Toney, and Wladimir Klitschko are candidates for Rahman's first defense. The BDSSP telecast will now feature the rematch between WBA lightweight champ Juan Diaz and former champ Lavka Sim, and possibly Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward

Taylor's such a bitch. I hope the Executioner takes him out early (even though that's not his style). He should be a little more humble considering the favorable decision he got.

Anyone else watching this? To quote Kellerman: "Duane Ford said from his angle Taylor was winning in the 12th round, but after he rewatched the tape is was obvious that Hopkins had won". Great, his farg up cost a 10 year champion his gold. I also find it comical that Kellerman would call him an 'honest' judge. A blind man could of seen that Taylor was absolutely destroyed in the 12th round.  :boom

They're taping Rocky VI at the fight tonight  :-D They just showed a bloated old Stallone coming to the ring  :-D This is going to be even more pathetic then once thought  :-X

Taylor is the biggest fraud ever. Again, Hopkins landed more punches and had a much higher percentage and lost.  :boo
Taylor's face is swollen and Bernard looks fine.

Taylor's still a bitch.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

RUIZ IS DONE AS THE WBA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP!!!!!! THANK THE LORD!!

From Fightnews:

QuoteValuev dethrones Ruiz!
By Uwe Betker at ringside
Nicolay Valuev has became the tallest and heaviest world champion in boxing history by winning the WBA heavyweight title by majority decision over John Ruiz before 10,000+ at the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin, Germany on Saturday. The seven-foot tall, 324.1 lb. Valuev (44-0, 31 KOs) was able to negate Ruiz' punch and grab tactics by using his huge reach advantage to keep "The Quietman" at bay. Ruiz (41-6, 28 KOs) picked up the pace and tried to go for the knockout over the last two rounds, but it was too little, too late. Scores were 116-113, 116-114 for Valuev and 114-114. After the bout, Valuev was holding up the belt and Ruiz' trainer/manager Norman "Stoney" Stone grabbed it out of his hands, sparking a fistfight between Stone and one Valuev's cornermen. Nobody was hurt in the scuffle, but blood was noticable on both afterward.

Stone is a complete ASS!! Ruiz will probably retire again, fargin baby :-D

Hopkins vs. Jones II on march 11th, fighting at Light Heavy

Two good fights last weekend, first Oneil Bell KO'd the frenchman. The fight was a mix of stick and move by Bell, throw in some great power exchanges, and a good inside attack by Mormeck. Mormeck seemed to be punding away whenever the two were in close, but Bell never stopped his pressure, and then just tagged Mormeck whenever he went to the outside. Bell hurt Mormeck in the 8th, and then just pounded him in the 10th till mormeck was laid out.

And then there was Zab Judah, who had a signed contract to fight with Floyd, all he had to do was to beat Baldomir the big big underdog. Oops!!! Baldomir was getting hit by Judah at will early on, I thought the fight was an easy victory, but Baldimor never stopped his stalking of Judah and it started paying off, He hurt Judah at the end of the 7th (if i remember correctly) and just pressed the fight the entire second half. Way to go Judah, another letdown for your fans! (I am not one, just enjoy seeing his smack talk bite him in the a$$).

Alright a good heavyweight fight has just been announced, and it will be on free tv (Showtime free preview weekend) This will eliminate one of these guys from a title shot!!

From Fightnews.com:

QuoteNEWS FLASH
Briggs vs. Tua: April 1
Comebacking former linear heavyweight champion Shannon "Brooklyn" Briggs, 45-4-1 (39 KOs), was asking for it for a long time...and now he's got it: a nationally televised fight with a big-name contender. On Saturday, April 1, at the Mohegan Sun Hotel Casino in Uncasville, CT, CKrush Entertainment and Cedric Kushner will present Briggs squaring off with anvil-fisted former world title challenger David "Tuaman" Tua, 44-3-1 (38 KOs) as part of a free preview weekend on the SHOWTIME network. "I'm so hungry for a big fight; I've never wanted it as bad as I do now. I know Tua is tough, but I'm looking for a tough fight. Tua comes straight at you and that's what I like. I'm ready to go to war," said a happy Briggs. "I'm the most exciting and active heavyweight in the sport today and on April 1; I'll prove I'm the best. Tua is going down!" Currently rated WBC #8, WBO #10 and IBF #13, Briggs is riding the momentum of a nine-fight knockout streak. Tua has been on the comeback trail as well, this fight will be just his third in almost three years. Briggs' postponed and rescheduled fight against Chris "Special K" Koval for the NABA and USBA Heavyweight Championships is now postponed again. "Koval isn't off the hook, he's just getting a stay of execution. I want to go back and knock him out after I knock out Tua. I'm thankful to Showtime for this opportunity. I'm going to put on a great show and give the fans a fight worth watching."
