QuoteRoster Move: #Eagles have acquired RB Jordan Howard from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2020 draft pick.
No way! Holy Moses! This is big if true

Looks like its happening
Free agent after this season
A sixth in 2020 that can become a fifth
Steal
Don't love Howard but for a 6th I have no problem with it.
Why were Bears so anxious to dump him? I read somewhere he and Nagy weren't on same page but he's been very productive.
He's not good. Hopefully I'm wrong.
So are they still drafting a RB on day two?
Any RB who has a pulse > than Clement, Smallwood, Adams.

agreed...he stinks....but its worth a flyer
hes basically wendell smallwood except he had a good fantasy year 2 years ago.
their rb room will be
draft pick tba
clement

pick 2:
smallwood, howard, adams, draft pick tba, deep outside sproles shot
seems likely that he will make it but theres no guarantee
At least two of those guys are getting hurt and going on IR.

Yeah, the two they keep. At least one of the ones they cut will go to NE and play in the Super Bowl.

Howard a lock for a torn ACL
with all the extra picks theyll have in 2020 a 6th is really nothing....this is pretty much a giveaway
theyre a lock to draft someone in top 3 rounds and easily could grab another later and/or a high dollar udfa. howard is better than josh adams, though, so theres that.
josh adams is from philly doe!
This is too many RBs. Someone tell me which t-shirt jersey I should buy for my dog.

My money is on Donnel Pumphrey leading the Pats backfield to Brady's last Lombardi.
I doubt Pumphrey's still in the league in six years.
I don't think they draft RB until after 3rd round now.

he's a free agent and not very good this better not affect what they do in the draft

no
they have 2 2's. seems likely theyll grab one there. going DE with the 1 makes a lot a sense and they might need to trade up and lose a 2 to get the guy, but that still leaves the other one

But Howie can just magic up another trade next year, silly.
Weird that the Bears gave him up. Ok, though. I still think they're still drafting one semi-early.
I think they probably think they have their guys. Howard is the bruiser, who is good in pass pro, and doesn't have to be kept past this year if he's disappointing.. Clement is the pass catching third down back. They probably haven't given up on Adams. I think it more likely they use early round picks on O and D line.
Also, I follow all of this very closely. You people should respect my opinion. I know things.
I agree. Plus there's some Bryce guy the Flyers picked up so Philly sports should be good for a while.
Worst case, Howard is cut in camp. Best case, he's Blount. Either way I don't think they are done addressing the position.

He didn't fit the offense Nagy wants to run. Can't catch worth a damn.
It takes pressure off the backfield and therefore the personnel with defenses knowing they have the magnificent 4 to deal with (Ertz, Jeffrey, Agohlor, and Pimp). We could stick IGY in the backfield and he will be top 10 rusher. Let's hope this Wentz kid can play past week 13.
IGY in backfield >>>> Chandelier Clement, Tiny Smallwood, Sloth Adams, Grandpa Sproles
QuoteHoward, whose 3,370 rushing yards over the past three NFL seasons trail only Ezekiel Elliott (4,048) and Todd Gurley (3,441), was rumored to be headed out of Chicago before the Eagles eliminated the Bears from the wild-card round of the playoffs. He wasn't considered a great fit for head coach Matt Nagy's offense.
Am I the only one feeling Ryan Mathews here? I like the signing but cautiously, very cautious at that, optimistic.
As long as he doesn't fumble like that butterfingered farg Mathews
Bears cut Mike Davis, who they signed to replace Howard.
There are in fact teams who do worse at this free agent thing than the Eagles.
Gone to Miami

2 years $10 million...would have kept him for that kind of money
Me too. There were a few games last season with Sanders starting to figure the run game out and before Howard was injured, where they had what looked like a really good thing going. Putting them both on the field, both a threat to run, Sander a real threat to slip out for a pass, Howard laying wood as lead blocker...I thought we might get that for a couple years, and I loved the idea.
Reportedly was in for a workout today and signed to the PS
was correll buckhalter unavailable
:-D :-D :-D
Im considering not watching this as I don't want to risk going to a bar again and if I do it will be the first eagle game I've not seen since sometime in the 1980's I guess when I was a kid when you "like " them but you'd rather play football in the street with your friends than watch the game
my big fear is that once I break my streak I might miss every non big game for the rest of my life cause the only thing really keeping me watching them is the streak cause the nfl mostly disgusts me
I think I'll still go but cause of Covid I'm teetering on the edge more than any other game I can remember
Why not just stream it?
I don't think he has any grandkids to help him figure out how to do that.

When's the CB reunion anyway? Lake house in NY sounds like a perfect venue.
