this draft schedule is one of the worst changes the NFL has ever made.

I'm in the 3-8 crowd strictly because I'll catch most, if not all of the 1st round and then probably about 20 minutes on Saturday.  lol @ a Friday night draft.

i totally understand mattys point...i miss the epic saturday afternoon draft party....but as a draft nerd i actually like it better now because you get so many more picks on saturday

really if you think about it with this set up theres even more of a reason to have the draft party because the picks mean less....when it was the first round it kind of got annoying having half the people playing drinking games while you are trying to watch the draft...now if you miss some sixth round picks because you are doing dickel shots it doesnt matter

dickel shots

You don't realize it yet, but you just invited Chuggie to your draft party.

It's the single worst move the NFL has made in the last 10 years.

Sat/Sun epic draft parties were the norm in my life.

farg Goodell and his band of iceholes.

dont blame goodell...blame your loser friends for not having a draft party just because its not the first round.....like they watched it anyway

too much to get into here but me and matty were involved in all kinds of ugly at a draft party back in the day that was intertwined with lots of dickel....bonkers

I don't know why Rome just doesn't ask the bartender at Outback to turn on the draft.

ha

people dont realize the draft was an excuse to conduct in massive daytime spring drinking....you didnt have a party to watch the draft....if you dont have draft partys to go to anymore blame the former hosts not the commish of the nfl

Compared to the NFL draft, that is definitely paint drying.

So IGY's logic is that a flimsy pretense for a party being replaced by a flimsier pretense is a good idea? That's fine, but why not follow this to the logical conclusion and have a party without the nerdiest part of sports outside of fantasy leagues?

in theory it should be a better idea.....but it isnt because it caused idiots to not have draft partys anymore

I loved the weekend deal. It was all day continuous action.

This new segment version is too choppy for my taste.

But either way...I'm watching every second

My roommate in college drank so much Dickel whiskey, he named is miniature wiener dog after him. Technically his name was Baron von George Dickel III. He died a couple weeks ago.

I'm sorry to hear that...so what's going to happen with the dog now?

Also, are you drunk? Pretty sure this is the porn thread and not the dog thread.

this saturday in the northeast is supposed to be 66 and sunny...im gonna make some sort of pot liquor....open my back door...cookout and watch the draft for 8 hours....cant wait

We're going camping/morel mushroom hunting this weekend and plan to randomly spread his ashes and do shots of Dickel in his honor.

I'm still confused as to who died. I'd like to believe it was your friend and that you're taking the dog camping to spread his ashes.

I'd spend the entire day on Friday getting ready for the party on Saturday.  Full house cleaning, yard work, etc.  Saturday morning I'd get the kegs, outside bar, the grills, etc. ready to go.  12:00 I would have at least three beers in me minimum and then keep drinking and eating barbecue all day and into the night.  Drinking yourself sober and then drunk again + football + charred meats of various kinds = paradise.

Seriously, Goodell and his band of mutant moneylovers should die slowly and in agony for taking it away from the fans just so they can milk a few more advertising dollars during prime time.

Suffice to say this weekend is usually more of a reason to party than most and leave it at that.

I'll watch. I liked it better when it was over the weekend, and I actually think IGY's proposed change would be an improvement, because it currently is too choppy. I used to go out of my way to watch it, but now I'll watch it if I'm around to watch it.

I'll watch tonight (with the Flyers on the computer), and I'll probably have it on Saturday as background noise while working on final exams.

Well, I hit the 3 hr minimum by sitting through the 1st round.  Though I really kind of stopped paying attention around the 12th pick.  It was just background noise for the most part.  I did wonder if Rome was fap'ing when Buffalo took Manuel though.  It was an awkward thought that remained in my head for an awkward amount of time.
