Traded with a 7th round pick for Marcus Johnson and a fifth round pick.
Under contract for three more years, with a 2018 salary of 7.4M
Considering this move puts the Eagles even further over the cap, Howie must have some other shtein lined up.

Quick, small stature WR, showed promise, but didn't do much with his few opportunities. Mack Hollins won more playing time than Johnson for the WR4 spot.

Nice thing about getting a player in a trade is that it usually wipes out most or all guaranteed money so he can be cut/traded at any time without a cap hit. This in turn gives a lot of leverage in negotiating Graham's next contract but also decrease the likelihood he'll be able to stay.
Wow! for a 5th and Marcus Johnson? WTF?
Eagles becoming the all-activist team.
This is a major add for the Eagles to an already-scary roster.
I wouldn't have been surprised to see Eagles go DE in the draft, I like that this frees them up for another position. I've never been a believer in the BPA myth, at least how most people understand it, but they have that luxury if they can secure a decent LB.
You're not kidding, QB. Bennett isn't as tactful as Jenkins, but he should fit right in with the spirit of the team regarding social justice and the like.

On the field...Bennet can move inside, too. Schwarz has to be elated to get another versatile talent on the front 4.
I hope he doesn't bring that petty Seattle bullshtein with him.

You made a comment about Trump loving Eagles fans. I'm pretty convinced that means most of them at this point. In fact this message board is one of the few places that liberals rules the roost. Certainly the official board is brimming with racist Neanderthals.

A casual acquaintance pointed out to me on FB that he is a huge pos because he abandoned a puppy in a kennel when he moved from Tampa to Seattle and then avoided calls from the kennel. I didn't know this. Or maybe I did read about it and just forgot.
Regardless, I think this ranks pretty farging low on the list of things that I give a shtein about. He didn't want the dog anymore and left it in a kennel and then avoided paying the bill. Not like he left it chained to a tree in his backyard and left. The pup was fine, it was left with a competent dog care facility and now has a home. So he's basically a zesty customer. Oh noes!

QuoteEagles traded a 7 and Matt Tobin to Seattle for a 5. Seattle than traded a 7 and Michael Bennett for a 5 and Marcus Johnson.
The Eagles basically traded Matt Tobin and Marcus Johnson for Michael Bennett
What's more, the Seahawks are on the hook for 5M of Bennett's salary cap for this year.
Reddit poster breaks down how this trade for Bennett relates to the Vinny Curry situation and the cap
QuoteReports were that they would ultimately just release him. From what I could gather from over the cap, Michael Bennet will carry a $1.65M base salary, and a $4m roster bonus. It is likely that we, not Seattle, are responsible for the roster bonus, giving us a $5.65M hit for this upcoming season on Bennet.
Curry has a cap hit this season of $11M. However, we don't save all of that if we cut/trade him. If the cut/trade is pre-June 1, we only save $5M, which doesn't fully cover Bennet. So cutting Curry prior to June 1 and getting Bennet costs us more money. Not a good deal on its own.
But as a post June 1 cut, we save $9M (same with a post June 1 trade).
Bottom line, expect Curry to remain on the roster now, unless we get an amazing deal, and then be designated as a post June-1 cut (EDIT: To be clear, they can cut him today and designate him as a post June 1 cut. They can do this with a max of 2 players). By effectively swapping Curry for Bennet, we'd be saving $3.35M for this season.
5.65 is the number now...however i would expect them to roll his roster bonus into a signing bonus which would save them an extra 2 million this year
also the homer jimmy kempski thing is so stupid...the tobin trade happened last year its done
the eagles traded marcus johnson and approximately 75-100 spots in the draft (from the 5th round to the 7th) for one year of 32/33 year old michael bennent who was going to be released if he couldnt be traded...
im not saying they paid a lot
they didnt
as they shouldnt have for a player in bennents position

Bennett was a multimillionaire when he did that. It was a zesty thing to do. I wouldn't make a federal case of it, but how is a lack of privilege an excuse for abandoning a puppy?
I think you're getting your wires crossed a bit because that's not what I was implying at all.

Yeah, I mean the worst part of the story is that he tried dodging his bill with the kennel, not that he left a dog there.
I mean, obviously he had the financial means to take the dog with him or do more to find it a home if he didn't want it any more, but yeah...in the end he left the dog in a dog care facility. Not sure how this differs from leaving a baby on the front steps of an orphanage. At least the dog was inside and had food when it was abandoned.

Well, because it's a zesty thing to do to the dog and it's a zesty thing to do to the business whom you have an agreement with. It's not like he took the dog to a shelter, which would be different. Anger isn't the right word, but it was zesty. People do zesty things all the time; he's a person and this was a zesty thing he did. Not much arguing that unless you're really trying hard.
Zesty!
And for all I know the guy never had a dog before in his life and didn't realize how much work they are....especially boxers (it was a boxer if I didn't mention it before). Maybe he legit didn't know the difference between a kennel and a shelter. He was probably like 25 or 26 at the time. Old enough to probably know better, but I generally expect athletes to fall a bit below the bar in terms of common sense and maturity.
im no kennel or adoption expert but my girl is...she does a lot of shtein with them and she always says that you never have to worry about a puppy not being adopted which means that thing was definitely not in the kennel for long and is probably in a better home than michael bennents right now...to me thats the important part...id have to look long and hard to find something that would bother me less than michael bennent not paying a kennel bill and i get mad at a lot of shtein

Either way, she was way too upset over it.
New Eagles DE Michael Bennett already has his sights set on the NFC East quarterbacks. "I know Eli Manning is probably watching this, thinking, yes, I'm coming. I know Dak is watching this like, yeah, he's coming. Yeah, I am. And Alex Smith knows he can't run from me. I told him at the Pro Bowl."

The negro-hating DA in question (http://www.outsmartmagazine.com/2017/06/cover-story-harris-county-da-kim-ogg-is-americas-top-gay-cop/)
QuoteAs the elected district attorney in the nation's third-largest county, Kim Ogg represents more constituents than any other openly LGBTQ law-enforcement official in the U.S. More importantly, as Harris County's first Democratic DA in nearly four decades, Ogg has ushered in a wave of progressive reforms—from marijuana enforcement to victims' rights, and from the bail system to increasing the transparency and diversity of her office.
In doing so, Ogg has emerged as a leading figure in the national debate over criminal-justice policy, and as a rising star in "the Resistance" to the right-wing agendas of Republican state leaders and president Donald Trump.
The whole Bennett story is strange as farg and is an awful look for almost everyone involved -- the DA, the Houston PD, Bennett, the cop who did nothing at the scene. If they don't have video of him clearly breaking the law, it almost feels like he could sue the police for targeting. The investigation began shortly after the Las Vegas thing, which was eons after the Super Bowl.
It is a weird story for sure. I was gonna point out Ogg and how she doesn't fit the MO of the typical DA who files bogus charges against minorities.

If he's gonna spend a half hour rambling and not really get into details about the nature of the injury, the evidence, etc., he could have at least explained why the case wasn't important enough to pursue for 7 months, yet was important enough to have a full-scale press conference about.
And if the worst case version of this thing happened (which I don't rule out), I guarantee something worse and more deserving of police attention is happening in Houston every 30 seconds. Doesn't make it right, doesn't mean it wasn't a crime, but get some farging priorities. That city is a hellhole.

I'm sure the "victim" is comforted to hear the prosecution had bigger fish to fry for 13 months than to seek justice in their case.
Also - not for nothing but why is a paraplegic involved in a security detail? I'm not victim shaming or questioning this person's worth but how is someone in a wheelchair supposed to adequately do that job? Wouldn't their physical disability preclude them from serving in that capacity or have we gotten so far past the mere pretense of common sense now to suggest another duty for them?
Romey! C'mon man, don't you remember Ironside?
A lot of security jobs are just about having someone in a location keeping an eye on things, which is a perfect job for disabled people who don't have a lot of skills. Not everyone needs to be a bouncer.
It's kind of funny that pushing past people who are blocking Bennett from where he wants to be is exactly Bennett's occupation. He's one of the top people in the world at charging through people. I wonder if he used the swim move on the wheelchair lady.
