I think this board is missing a key thread. One that normally would have been started as soon as people first started posting here, but everybody already knew everybody. That's right, it's the "who the hell are you and why the farg are you here" thread. Now that we've got a few new folks hanging around this is probably a good time to start it.

Name: General Failure
Alias: GF
Location: Burbs, 20 minutes out of Philly
Why I'm here: I work here. :)

Comments: I started watching football around '92, '93 I think. My friends were all retards, and my dad didn't start watching until a year or two later so I had to figure everything out for myself. I normally watch the games from home. I posted on the old official board under the same name, and more than a few times under the name Cap'n Fullpants. I like a good mix of humor, casual discussions, and heated debates.

Alright, now the rest of you. Even if you've done it several times before because you're a message board junkie, do it anyway. Think of the children! :)

Why I'm here: The Official Board sucked in its new format.

Comments: I started watching football in the early 90's. Why the Eagles? Cause my favorite color is green and I liked R. Cunningham at the time. Plus the Raiders were always a nomadic team.  ;)

I also posted under the same name on the official board, but I didn't post much. That was my first introduction to any type of message boards(My first year with internet access).

But if you don't know already, I am the glue of this message board. I provide in depth analysis of Eagles games and vast knowledge of football facts and statistics dating since the first days of football. Casual discussion are ok with me, but I try to keep it 99% football. I hate jokes and dumb mindless threads i.e., 'karma', 'you're an Eagles fan if', 'do you like tats on chicks', etc. Those are such wastes of time that they don't deserve to be on such a high quality message board. That's basically trash in my eyes. I can't believe people respond to those stupid things. One more thing I hate is trash talking. Please, keep that to a minimum in here. I will not tolerate that!

That said, I hope you have fun here and Sixers suck! ;D
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Board Name:   Gene

Real Name:    Jason Sehorn

Location:     Staten Island, New York

Why I'm Here: FCC Regulations........Rule 683, Sub-Section 3, Paragraph c:  Each and every message board (henceforth known as "mb") of the Philadelphia Eagles must have one fan of the New York Giants allocated within said mb........RES:  Reality Check

Comments:  Watching the Giants since the early-mid 60's.......been into this internet stuff for about a year and a half now........enjoy posting on anybody's message board that has a good hard core group of fans who know what they're talking about.........absolutely no patience for front runners, band wagon jumpers (getting on or off), or anybody who cannot back up what they post with anything other than "This Guy"/"That Guy"/"You Suck"......

Regular poster on the Giants official board under the name of, er, um.......Gene.  Veteran Poster on KFFL under the name of, er, um........Gene.  Long time poster on the New York Rangers board under the name of, er, um........Gene.
(I guess I'm not very imaginative).

Name - Bill
alias - that tall guy with the goofy glasses
Location - dangerously close to Vest Virginia (Western MD)

I'm old (but not anywhere near as old as FS'64)...I've been an Eagles fan since the late 70's.  I'm surprisingly cool despite my geeky appearance.  I enjoy making hot sauce & homebrew in my laboratory & taking pictures of fat-looking tailgaters.
I can often be seen plugging my website (although not as much as that Eagles2001-guy) & I enjoy old-school video games.  I'm currently in week 8 of my NES Tecmo Bowl season & I can kick anyone's ass at Eternal Champions on the Sega CD system.  Cinekill.
Thanks for caring...

Tecmo Bowl is one of the greatest football games EVER created!

Blocking field goals/extra points and running back kickoffs with walter payton(if I remember correctly). Bo Jackson was a stud as well.

Do they still sell the old nintendo system?

Check EBAY or flea markets.

GF, you an Eternal Champions playa?  I pack a pretty mean Jetta, and my Larson is untouchable.
I think EC for the CD was the all-time best fighting game.  Vendettas, Cinekills, Sudden Deaths...awesome stuff...

As for TecmoBowl, it's fun, but after a night of playing Madden 2002 on the PS2 at my friends house, coming home to TecmoBowl is a bit of a let-down.   :-/  It's still fun though...I also enjoy 10-yard fight.

You can buy any system and games on Ebay.  I usually buy a system, play it until I'm sick of it & then resell it back on Ebay.  I just 'upgraded' from an Atari 5200 to a NES system about a week ago.  I also just sold an Intellivision (with voice module - lol - "Hello Commander, computer reporting" - from the classic Space Spartans) about a month ago.

I played it on Genesis. Man, there's one game I wish I would have gotten. The number of times I rented it I might as well have. I couldn't do squat in the tourney, but I loved playing against my friends. I think that was the only fighting game where I enjoyed using all characters. I think I played Xavier the most, Slash and Midnight tied at second. Why there hasn't been a dozen sequels to that game I'll never figure out.

LMAO...I forgot about Burgertime! I'd be surprised if there isn't a PC version of it floating around somewhere. I've seen lots of "classic" games released for PC. I liked Joust and Qix, especially after 10 or 15 beers. And there was a driving game that I forget the name of...it was off-road, and you had to drive the little 4-wheeler around a dirt track and run over flags as they appeared.

Anyway...

Handle: Susquehanna Birder
Name: Steve
Location: Central PA, just west of Harrisburg

Started watching the Eagles in my youth. I grew up in southern Chester County, just between the metropolises of Kennett Square and Unionville. Got more into it during college, where I could surround myself with a group of fellow fans. After school, I got married and moved to my current location about 15 years ago, so I could help spawn a new generation of Eagles fans.

BTW, FS64: My wife grew up in Bethlehem, 2 doors down from John Spagnola. She wanted to know why he's not listed in 'By the Numbers."

GoinLong

Name: Glenn aka GoinLong

Location: Montgomery County(but 20mins from CenterCity via SEPTA Rail)

Why am I here: I was browsing for a website focused on dolphin sex

Comments: Have  been a fan of football since 1964. The images on Jim Brown on CBS and Lance Allworth on NBC and the voices of Curt Gowdy and Marty Glickman remain with me as shining examples of the sport of my youth.

Thanks G_F for posting this. As the title of the post mentions, this is really for all of the newcombers to this board who might be reluctant to post just to drop in and say hi.
The house was built by players like  ,  [Joyner], [Brown], [Simmons]," he says. "They set that legacy of Eagles defense, then passed it on to us and we built from it. Now, it's their turn to uphold the reputation."- TV

Mad-Lad

#13
Name: Mad-Lad
Location: Chicago, IL
Why I'm here: It's the only way I can communicate with Eagles fans here in Chicago.  That, and I do lots of the pretty pictures on the site.

Comments: I started watching the Eagles during the LATE 80's - EARLY 90's.  The NFL game that got me hooked included Randall Cunningham and a win over the Cowboys.  That's where it all began.  Growing up in Iowa I had a lot of teams force fed to me.  NFC Central games were televised every weekend, so I had to get my info from newspapers.  I normally watch the games at a sportsbar. I used to post on the old official board under the name "JorEl29, but switched over to "Mad-Lad" when someone else used a name that was confusingly similar.  I'm kind of a slacker, for I post while at work.  I enjoy screwing around, waxing intellectual, and kung-fu grip.

PhillyGirl

Name: Samantha (Sami)

Location: Philly

Why I'm here: Because I'm cool like that  8)  Oh, and the official site sucks ass. I am also the senior editor of ConcreteField, which means all of the articles you see on the main site are better because I made them that way!  ;D

Comments: Yes, I'm a female, but no, I don't like football because they wear tight pants.  ::)   Lifetime football (and the other 3 major sports) fan...and I actually know what I am talking about. So, never take my posts with a grain of salt just because its coming from a female. More likely than not, I can kick your ass in sports knowledge  ;)

Oh yeah, welcome to the board...lol!  ;D

One more thing, never, EVER listen to what hbionic says!  :flipoff ;D
"Oh, yeah. They'll still boo. They have to. They're born to boo. Just now, they'll only boo with two Os instead of like four." - Larry Andersen
