lol

it was a nice little thing but nothing pre super bowl really counted all that much, specifically when the afl was formed. but hold on to some event that happened 10 years before you were born
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

lol...whos holding on to anything?

Are we counting just the teams that currently play in Philadelphia, or all the championships won by teams playing in Philadelphia at the time?

Philadelphia Athletics:  5 (1910, 1911, 1913, 1929, 1930)
Philadelphia Phillies:  2 (1980, 2008)
Philadelphia Warriors:  1 NBA (1956), 1 BBA (Precursor of the NBA - 1947)
Philadelphia 76ers: 2 (1967, 1983)
Philadelphia Flyers: 2 (1974, 1975)
Philadelphia Eagles: 3 (1948, 1949, 1960)
Frankford Yellow Jackets: 1 (1926)

Just compiling that list is a bit depressing... defunct Philly teams have one less championship than the current teams.

Total Philly championships - 16 (including the BBA)

Boston Celtics Championships - 17

The Lakers also have 16 total, split between 2 cities.

If you want to add lesser sports then there's also the Soul, and I'm pretty sure the Phantoms won the Caulder (is that it?) Cup.

Major Indoor Lacrosse League/National Lacrosse League.  Championships in 89, 90, 94, 95, 98, 01.

It's a funny league.  There's 9 teams and 8 of them make the playoffs.

I loved Wings games.   The crowd was insane in the early 90s.

Wings games are fun, good fights, crowds used to be raucous.  Bergey's son was a beast, when he was healthy

ESPN used to show quite a bit of the MILL back in the 90s.  Wings were on a few times and I'd be hanging out in my barracks room watching them.  I'm not even a lax "fan" but I do enjoy watching it from time to time.

No surprise that Havas isn't a fan but I'm honestly shocked that he doesn't at least know who they are.  Thought he was on the up and up on all things Philly.
