I got bored and bought Skyrim for PS4.  (yes, I know...consoles are for chumps.  gimme 2k for a gaming system and I'll join the master race, until then I have to slum it with the proles).

It might have been more accurate marketing to call it an inventory management and crafting game rather than an RPG.

I'm a make me some cool armors tho

Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season 1 is free right now on Humble Bundle. If any of you are still interested in zombie bullshtein, but would like to see a decent story set in zombie bullshtein, go get it.

Madden 18 isn't a worthy upgrade over 17....wait for a sale. It hasn't been a significant upgrade in years, but this year especially so in my opinion, and I've played it for decades.

the entire post is worth a read but if you can't stand to read a few paragraphs, the tl;dr (long enough in its own right, it must be said) is an excellent summary nevertheless and copied below.  I find this shtein fascinating.

for example:
QuoteTheir leader ... had built the largest and most organized online gaming organization on the internet, with an estimated member count exceeding 15,000 people, and capable of summoning over 1,000 players to login to the game at a moment's notice.

Like, holy crap.  This is some William Gibson shtein here.  All i can say is, I am clueless about what goes on in the world.  I think I want ammo and canned food.

Quotetl;dr: Four years ago there was an EVE battle where $300,000 worth of stuff was destroyed, and it made the news. After that battle, EVE's greatest player, The Mittani, made a bunch of money selling out his massive 15,000 person super-organized gaming community to other games for cash. This went well, but then he tried to raise $150,000 in a kickstarter to get Sci-Fi Author Jeff Edwards to write a book about himself and a famous war he won in EVE Online. The rest of the EVE player community revolted against this idea, the kickstarter fell short in spectacular fashion, and the community then united to destroy The Mittani's EVE empire once and for all, bank rolled by a massive EVE casino run by one guy. Towards the end of that war, the guy who ran that casino was banned because the CS:GO gambling scandal made the game company behind EVE afraid of lawsuits related to gambling. With no money bankrolling them, the EVE community split apart before they could deal the final blow, and now 15 months later, EVE's greatest player is back for revenge in what could be EVE Online's first $1,000,000 battle.

EVE is basically a spreadsheet simulator with spaceships. Reading about the stuff that happens is way more interesting than actually playing the game.

Oh, it sounds awful.  Still.  WTF.

I'm impressed by the migratory nature of this clan.  When a clan moves across games, it's more of a gang, isn't it?  And the gambling angle is interesting, too.

In most games, yes. EVE's servers can't actually handle any kind of large scale fights, so you wind up with something more like a slideshow than a video game. Anyone not involved that's unfortunate enough to be in the same area probably isn't have a good time.

Does anyone here play Fallout?  I saw the commercial and it looked weird, so I did some research into it and it only got weirder and more confusing.  I literally have no idea what the game is or how to play it.

Nor will I because I'm old and white.

General_Failure

This one is an online-only mess. It's a bad game if you're only concerned about the gameplay, and shteins on the lore if you care about Fallout.

The comments I was reading were reminiscent of Star Trek rage over canon.  I was amused but I felt bad for the people who actually give a shtein about it.  Anything to make a buck, I suppose.

General_Failure

This is definitely the Star Trek Discovery of the franchise.
