I'm not usually that kinda guy. I was very optimistic last year and my heart was ripped out.

My only hope and this is a major major stretch. But after june 1st, Chad's cap hit is pretty much nil. Maybe we wait til after the draft and go after Chad with one of our two 1st rounders next year, and Lito. It doesn't look like we'll trade him until after the draft now.

Major stretch, but hoping. I don't think our offense is good enough right now to make the playoffs. We'll be in the mix, but not quite there IMO. Still a lot of offseason left, so we'll see.

Donovan gets a play maker. That is important. And the STs gets one too.

Stop being a frenchman, King.

Ok, I won't rain on anyone's parade anymore. Just going to enjoy the rest of the Flyers game. I wasn't a big fan of Jackson as a WR. I was as a returner. He is the 2nd best I've ever seen.I was hoping we could do more at WR, but such is moot now.

You are forgetting a healthy McNabb, one of the only 3 CB deep secondary, and an upcoming pass-rushing specialist.  Add in a 3rd DT and a speedy return threat....the birds are MUCH better.

Post of the draft.  Well said.

Not to mention we have Carolina's future first to work with in a possible trade for a #1 receiver.

i am very excited about tomorrow.  boat load of very good safeties still on the board.  also some good linebackers.

DeSean:

Quote"It's a blessing, a dream come true. The Philadelphia Eagles were high on my list. I felt like I had a connection with the program, Andy Reid and the rest of the coaches. It's a dream come true and I am ready to get in there as soon as possible and make great things happen for the team."

"I am very confident. I can just sit back there and catch the football no matter where it is kicked. I can field punts and I am able to see the whole field. I can see my blockers and make great moves from there. Once I see a seam, I am going to hit it and take it the distance."

"I definitely feel like [dropping out of the first round] will motivate me. I just know I have to come to the Eagles ready to play, I will expect a lot of myself. I am going to come in right away and try to compete and just get better as soon as possible."

Honestly. I hate to be a downer here, but he won't help us right away. This team is a joke.

The Cowboys are still WAY better than us. We could've kept our 2nd round pick and still got Desean and stayed at 19 and got Kenny Phillips even or Merling, Otah.

I didn't want Otah if it meant no WR, but in hindsight it makes sense.

This team is a joke.

The Eagles broke their mold and went out and got one of, if not the most athletically gifted players in this draft.  He'll get to display that athleticism and lightning speed 6-10 times a game at the very least from day 1.

Even if he doesn't contribute right away at WR... it doesn't mean he can't have an impact.  What does Hester contribute from WR or CB for that matter?  Drastically improving starting field position (which he should be able to do) creates an impact.

I would have been cool with him at 19 to be honest.  To get him at 49... I love it.

Another guy who is already on the same page with the coaching staff!

Listening to DeSean's conference call on PE.com.....says he met Rice since they're both signed with the DeBartolo group

Andy says he plans to use him as a WR too and wouldn't have drafted him that high if he was just a returner.  He also says Jackson can handle kickoffs too

Exactly, to get him at 19 would have been great. To get him at 49 is outstanding.

This is a game-breaking guy. A guy who will potentially alter games like Devin Hester.

And the STs blocking seemingly has improved with the additions of guys like Wilson and Boiman.

Magical_Retard

ok so far i like the offseason considering the samuel pick up while keeping LITO and then adding jackson.

they need to draft a safety now. and more depth at LB.

but it would be amazing if they could use one of the 1st round picks for a WR this year.

as it is i am just glad washington nor dallas picked up williams, boldin, or chad johnson. washington did get 2 of the better projected WRs but still...i had a feeling the eagles would come out with a Guard while washington and dallas would come away with playmakers at WR via trades.

when is the eagles next pick?
