I checked it out before, there's never any action going on, every once in a while there's a herd of some random animal. I need action like a Lion squaring off against a Croc.

ive been listening and randomly watching for a few hrs tonight. other than the elephant i saw earlier i havn't seen shtein. the freakin noises though are crazy and the birds about half driving me nuts. the camera just switched to color for the morning, which is pretty cool.  the only thing about the color daytime camera is you can't tell if your screen is froze up or not...

so is there a website for this?

supposedly best time for viewing is between midnight and 4 a.m. EST, or 12p.m. to 4 p.m.  according to my old lady, who thinks this shtein is as cool as I do and has been looking shtein up on the internets with the Google.

the cows this morning were cool.  when they came in there was an elephant in the background who didn't hang around to mingle with the cows.

my dog is making the funniest faces when the monkeys scream, or whatever those sounds were.  ha!

He kinda came to the edge of the water on the left, I couldn't tell if he drank any water, seemed kinda skittish, then took off to the upper left edge of the screen near that big bush. didn't last that long at all. don't know if there is a light on that night vision camera that might of spooked him or what.

I was just watchin here a minute ago and someone controlling the camera, just pointed it all around and zoomed into the treeline in the background. Now its back to its normal position...

I kept this on last night when I went to bed, noise on.  I woke up at 3am to some horrifying noises that sounded like lions and then I woke at 4:30 am and these two stork/cranes were nailing little fish out of the pond left and right.  These birds have been there for almost 6-7 hrs!

There is some kind of compound of modern looking lodges in view when the camera pans left of the watering hole.  Must me a nature preserve or something.

Not a wildebeest. Maybe an African buffalo (which is NOT a water buffalo).

By the end of my lifetime, most of the animals we're watching will exist only in zoos or fenced "parks."

Yay humanity.

We already know it is.  During daylight hours when the camera pans you can see a lodge in the background.

I don't know about the location of the National Geographic stream.

Nah, I don't think it was.  Most of the bugs I see flying around are zig zagging all over the place.  What I saw definately looked like it was deep in the background and went in a straight/diagonal line from near the top right corner and disappeared behind the big tree in the middle.

Right now on one of the HD channels (205 where I live) there's a Discovery documetary called the 'Trek' which is a enormous herd of Wildabeasts mixed with some Zebra's that are migrating across Africa. So far they've been hunted by Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, and Crocodiles. It's about 1 hour in but it's 3 hours long and it's truly amazing.

Now THIS is what PETA should be focusing their attention on, not Chick-Fil-A and KFC. If they'd actually do something to help animals instead of telling humans to stop mistreating them they might form a reputable name.

Nice.  Yeah, they talked about how they're the only tree dweller that they've ever observed who climbs down a tree just to dig a hole, take a shtein(only once a week), and they cover that poo up with dirt.  Then climb back into the tree.  Kinda fascinating that their fur has it's own ecosystem with algae and fungus.

An article I read about it says that it took 15-20 minutes for the zoo to respond.  Pretty pathetic.

Weird thing is that the Tiger seemed to be more curious than aggressive until people started shouting and throwing things.  Not blaming them at all because I'd probably do the same thing to try and scare the tiger away, but it still makes you wonder if they didn't aggravate the tiger more than the dude in the pit.

I guess its one of these since dumb ass channel 7 wont say like its a matter of national security or some shtein..

QuoteFor the first time since the 1940s, D.C. is now home to three—three!—bald eagle nests. After the first nest was speculated—and later confirmed—to be in the National Arboretum, another one was discovered at the Metropolitan Police Department's training facility academy. And now, a third has been discovered at the West Campus of St. Elizabeth's.

Gotta get approval from the farmer lady aka wife.  We have 4 of them, 1 Plymouth Rock Red, 1 Leghorn, 1 Easter Egger, and 1 blue hen.  They finally started up producing eggs after taking two months off so they won't see the cleaver until next year.

Two years ago I got a call when the Eagles were playing the titans that a Hawk had tried to take the white chicken out.  She heard the shriek of the hawk as it came down and just saw something fly by the window and then a cloud of feathers.  The chicken aka French Fry lucked out and was pushed into a butter fly bush patch and the hawk couldn't or wouldn't chase it down on the ground.  The yard looked like a murder scene though.

when i got too close, he flew off carrying what was left of the pigeon.

At a lake in New Hampshire with my g/fs family, we kayaked out to the small island in the lake that's sort of near the opposite shore.

Hear something rustling in the woods and run away from the shore of the island, so I kayak around a big boulder to peer into where it sounded like it ran, and it was a black bear cub. I didn' stick around long enough to get a picture because I had no idea where mom was at the time and didn't wanna piss it off. We stuck around for a half hour or so and could clearly hear at least 3 bears walking around, but didn't get a sighting of any of them again.

thats the law on the potomac as wel....but the snakehead while plentiful in many waters has largely not effected native species....a practical balance is needed even amongst native species to ensure the survival of all kinds of animals....if people hunt too much elk wolves die

precautions should always be taken....but the hysteria from a decade ago was just that....hysteria....they loved showing this foreign hideously scary/ugly looking "predator" that was going to kill all our fish cause it was a neato doomsday narrative to run with

There are woods in Florida?

In a very Florida scrubby way... yes. (https://www.freshfromflorida.com/Divisions-Offices/Florida-Forest-Service/Our-Forests/State-Forests/Picayune-Strand-State-Forest)

There are woods in Florida?

For the moment, yes. They're cutting most of it away to build more highways and shopping centers.

Not too far from here.

It'll eat a Texan eventually. Usually that happens in the woods when the hillbillies get drunk and play chicken with them

Those things have been proven to greatly reduce roadkill.  If the animals have a safe route across a highway, they take it.  We have a bridge going in nearby that will have a new passageway under the road which didn't exist before.  It'll be huge, not small like this one..they don't have to be large enough to drive a truck through, but it's fantastica ll the same that in addition to people having a new, safe way to move from one part of the park to another, the animals will use it too.

I watch way too many wildlife shows. The social makeup of Lion prides is fascinating. The matriarch is the leader of the hyenas, females grow 20% larger than males. They're really freaks of nature, their reproductive organ is pointed out like a penis. They're technically felines but behave more like canines. African wild dogs are the real badasses, they're the most successful hunters in Africa.

I watch a lot of animal documentaries, watched one on YouTube about the Megalodon. Fascinating species. (If you have 45 minutes to spare it's worth watching) https://youtu.be/k_XJ1cUiCDk

Starting looking up info about them and came across a bunch of sites that sell their teeth. Most of the sellers are scuba divers who find them off the coasts of South/North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, California etc. Did some research and found a reputable dealer. Bought a museum quality tooth 4.5 inches long found off the coast of North Carolina. Specimen is a few million years old and the megalodon probably killed massive whales with this tooth so holding in my hand and having it on display at my home is pretty damn cool. [/nerdgasm over]
