It's about time for a new thread. Russell yelled at me for starting one last year, but I won the chip so farg you. I do what I want. And maybe we should like, I dunno, try setting a draft date.
I know last season we talked about making some changes and possibly opening up 2 more spots. Dio is out because it's too hard to work the waiver wire from the bottom of a ditch so we need at least 1 person to take his team.
I also don't remember if I brought it up last year or not (and I'm too lazy to look) but I think we should reduce the number of keepers we can take from one year to the next. I'm thinking something like 1 QB, 3 RB/WR (any combination), 1 TE/K/Def (choice of 1), 1 rook. Basically just eliminating 1 keeper.
Is everyone else IN or OUT?
Who wants Dio's terrible roster?
Do we want to add 2 more teams?
Do we want to change keeper rules?
I'm going to start a different thread exclusively to tell you to shut the farg up about your retarded ideas.
1. Dio's not out. He's just whiny right now because he's going through his menstrual cycle.
2. You're stupid
3. Instead of opening this up to two more rosters and having even less interest, let's up the ante by a few bucks, literally, make it $28.
4. Rules are fine as far as I'm concerned. There weren't really any complaints from last season.
5. I think the keeper number is fine, I don't think it needs a complete overhaul, but the 3RB/WR might be the best idea you've had in a long time including things not involving fantasy football.
6. You're going to die of lung cancer.
So are you IN or OUT? And I'm talking about the Keeper League, not the closet you spooge chewing rectum ranger.
I'm in.
And I've been out a long time ago.
Eat me.
Oh Christ, Chuggie won me over. [So did my other friend.] I feel so loved and wanted. I'll stay if you'll have me. But farg, this league needs some changes, and no matter what, I'm not paying half the attention to this shtein that I once did.
I say reduce the number of keepers to 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR/TE, and 1 Rookie. No TE/D/K keeper. The problem with the way we've been running it is that you can essentially keep your entire starting line up. That makes for a pretty static league and discourages trades and waiver wire activity.
Dio is staying....woohoo!!!!!
:crazy :crazy :crazy :crazy :crazy

I don't know if anyone would go for that drastic of a change. Maybe something like 1 QB, 3 RB/WR/TE (any combo up to 3), 1 Rook/K/Def? That would reduce our keepers from 7 to 5 and might open up the trade market a bit. I dunno....I'm just spitballing. I agree that trades are far, few and in between and reducing the # of keepers would/should encourage more trade activity during the season.
Also, welcome back. I almost hope you win this year so I can mail that terrible sun catcher back to you.
I think the special slot for the rookie is the best thing going in our Keeper scheme, so I'd retain that. But we're keeping far too many other players, so any reduction is an improvement.
Agreed.
Keep the rookie,
Maybe we say scrap the QB?
3 of any combo RB/WR
1 TE/D/K
Keeping things fresh yo!
Shut up or I'll quit again.
Who the farg is the commish of this shteinhole league? Rusty?
I'd rather keep the same amount of keepers as we have because of the blockbuster trade I made a year or two ago. I've always thought of this as more of a dynasty league than just a keeper league. But whatever, I'll play no matter what unless we don't up the ante to exactly $28...then I'll Dio out of this bitch.
With the first selection of the 2014 Keeper League draft, Tomahawk selects...Marty Booker.
Yeah, it's still Rusty. I went to our league page and there was an option to send the commish a reminder. So I did. I suggest you all do the same. If that doesn't work, we'll bombard him on FB.

i thought we voted to reduce keepers during last season, let me check back in this thread.
oh, it's a new thread
I don't think we actually settled how many keepers to take away, but I do remember talking about eliminating 1 or 2 from the mix. I skimmed through last year's thread but didn't see anything. I did notice that PC said he was dropping out and Munson is taking his place. Is this still the case?
Yeah, I'm out. Not sure who is taking over.

Send me a PM with your address and I'll invite you to the league next year or something. Whatever.
Were there any trades involving draft picks for this year that need to be accounted for?
I'm pretty sure t-hawk made a trade involving him giving up his 6th rounder in next season's draft and in return he gets to finger your mom. In the butt. Tonight.
The league is up you asshats. Someone give me munsons info and I'll invite him. Also rule changes can suck my nut since I'm the one who has to implement them. If you monkeys get unanimous on this bitch I'll change them. Otherwise I don't feel like doing it. Ready go.
i propose the following changes to the keeper rule:
1 QB, 1 Rb, 1 WR, 1 rookie
I was invited back to my buddy's big money league this year (was told last year that it was a one-off type deal), which means this would be my 4th pay league this year, so I don't think I'd be able to swing this one. Well, I could, but I don't want to commit to it and then do zesty things like forget to set the lineup on sunday or some bullshtein like that. Sorry :CF. If you can't find anyone else to take mic's place, I'll still do it, I just hate the idea of possibly not being able to give it my full attention.
Ok so who wants in?

Harvin AND Maclin. He was a visionary. Is there a wager of some sort involved in this league now?
If I'm not jumping in line, I suppose I could come back into the Keeper fold.
Haha.....yeah, I noticed Maclin and Harvin and had to chuckle a bit. It's not a bad roster even with those 2 injured. He finished 7th out of 8, but his record was 7-7....along with the 5th and 6th place teams. So it's not like you're taking over a train wreck.
$25 entry fee. And if Munson is serious about not getting in then I think that would make you next in line. Farg it, it's only Munson....who gives a shtein what he wants? I'm cool with gthistle taking the spot.
Well, the powers that be can let me know after praying to the gods about it.

Not a huge fan of this. My proposal:
1 QB, 3 RB/WR/TE/K/Def (choose any 3), 1 Rook.
But I won't be a total dick about it. If the 6 other owners like Sunny's proposal and I'm the odd man out, then I'll vote in favor of it.
I'm fine with your adaptation if you reduce the 3 rb/wr/te/k/def to 2.

I'd object to the rookie requirement, mostly because my previous owner decided to not plan for that.

Which is also why we should add 2 more teams. Too late do do that this year, imo, but it's something that we might want to strongly consider for next year. Of course, that would mean that :CF needs at least 10 people still posting here, which may or may not be viable.

Fair. How does he he know which Rookies are available for him to put dibs on though?
But look, I'll agree to just about any rule proposal that greatly reduces the number of keepers. I think
SunMo's 1/1/1/1 is the best but if everyone wants 1/2/1/1 that's better than our current situation of keeping essentially your entire roster.
If we want to add two teams, that would require a league-wide team reset and a new draft for everyone. Hell, any serious rule change like the one we're discussing might merit a reset.
We then should text each other pic's of each other's penises to determine who gets the 1st pick in the draft. Smallest goes first.
So with the first pick I'd like to select...

Everyone needs to post their rosters and designate their keepers before the draft, so he'll have a list of the rooks who are off the market and can choose from the rest.
QuoteIf we want to add two teams, that would require a league-wide team reset and a new draft for everyone. Hell, any serious rule change like the one we're discussing might merit a reset.
If we agree on a reduction in keepers, then I don't think a total reset would be necessary in order to add 2 teams. New teams would have an "expansion draft" prior to the actual draft where they would pick any non-keeper designated players to build their keeper roster. So if our keepers were (for example): 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 Rook......then that's all that the new teams could pick. Then we'd have a regular draft to fill out our rosters.
can we make the draft for not labor day weekend?
Like you have plans......
my roster is:
Andrew Luck (r)
Demaryius Thomas
Andre Johnson
Frank Gore
Alex Green
Scott Chandler
Ahmad Bradshaw
Michael Crabtree
Brandon Lloyd
Larry Fitzgerald
Maurice Jones-Drew
Andy Dalton
Bernard Pierce (r)
Jason Hanson
If we stick with current rules....my keepers will be:
1 QB - Andy Dalton
2 RB - Frank Gore, MJD
2 WR - Demaryius Thomas, Andre Johnson
1 Rookie (any position) - Andrew Luck
1 TE/K/Def (choose 1 of the 3) - Scott Chandler
When is the draft?
I vote for Labor Day
Failing that, at least labor day weekend.
If we add two teams, I think we need a total re-draft.
I don't think we should add any this year. We were lucky to get someone to take PC's team on short notice.
Let's see if we can agree on keeper reduction for this year and see how that goes.
Someone should also tell hb to sign his farging team up.

1 QB
1 RB
1 WR or TE
1 Rookie

What is buy in and could someone post the rules. I have no idea what a keeper league is.
The league I joined at work is $50 and $1 for trades. Live draft is August 26th at a local bar. It's a yahoo league.
We'd need 1 more person to join before we could take anyone else. Probably too late to get you in this year (unless someone else speaks up like right now and wants to join) but I think we want to add 2 teams next year, so you can be one of them.

Vote no on the redraft. There's more than enough quality players available with the reduction in keepers. Everyone sets their keepers, then Munson and SD pick their keepers, then we all draft. Only thing to be settled is draft order. Since SD committed first, I say give him the 1st pick for the "expansion draft" and then give Munson 1st pick in the regular draft, SD 2nd, then go on standings from last season.
I'm glad chuggie didn't let me quit. This league just got a lot better. More players, fewer keepers, and PPR. Excellent.
Sarge's plan sounds relatively fair. The only thing I can think of is maybe let me and SD be able to pick at least one guy,any guy, from any of the teams as one of our keepers, but the rest of you have the ability to protect two guys on your roster or something? I say that having no idea who's being kept and who's available, so the expansion draft may be more than enough to let us catch up to the rest of the teams, especially with picking first and 2nd in the draft as well. You guys can figure out what's fair.
Do you guys do snake draft or is it NFL style where same team picks in the same slot every round?
I think it snakes. Also, beware of Sarge's snake. It's huge.
At this point, I think it's time to stop seeking consensus and get our icehole commish to do his job.
We are going to a PPR league. He needs to make the setting change.
We will reduce our yearly keepers to 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR (or TE), and 1 Rookie from the prior year. rjs needs to set a deadline for announcing those, unless we're going to re-set the league completely with a new draft for all players. Which leads me to:
We will add two teams to the league. rjs needs to decide how they will be matriculated into the group and lay down the law.
I'll agree to any system for the new guys filling their rosters but I do not want to talk about a dozen different plans.
Poop-Bandits
QB Cam Newton
QB RGIII (R)
WR James Jones
WR Dez Bryant
WR Victor Cruz
WR Stevie Johnson

TE Rob Gronkowski

Keeper rules vary wildly. In our league, you can carry over 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR or TE, and 1 Rookie from the prior year who was on your roster at year's end. No stipulation about the players kept being "second tier" or any of that junk.
rjs will tell you about our draft plans.
We are going to have the draft on Labor Day, at
SunMo's special request.
So munson and I are picking what's out there now for our Keepers (expansion draft)?
Not sure yet. Commish will decide. Options are:
- Complete re-draft for the league. Everyone starts fresh.
- Legacy teams declare their Keepers by a yet-to-be-declared date. Zanshin gets to pick up a Rookie to keep somewhere along the line, since the team he's taking over doesn't have one already. Expansion teams (you and Munron) select Keepers from those players not tagged, in an order to be determined. After all teams have Keepers designated, a draft date is set and we draft the balance of our teams.
- Some other option that rjs imposes.
cool thanks...russell's filling me in too. I get the gist of it.

So munson and I are picking what's out there now for our Keepers (expansion draft)?
No. My suggestion is this (dates are for example):
12:00 pm, Aug 15- Deadline for owners (not named Munson or SD) to submit their Keepers for this season (1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR (or TE), 1 Rook). All non-keeper designated players go into the draft pool for Munson and SD to choose from.
12:00 pm, Aug 16* - Deadline for Zanshin to select (1) rookie.
12:00 pm, Aug 20 - SD & Munson begin the "expansion draft." Expansion draft is 4 rounds. Picks are made in alternating order and they draft 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR (or TE), 1 Rook** (any position). Picks would be made by posting in this thread.
Rd 1 - SD, Munson
Rd 2 - SD, Munson or Munson, SD
Rd 3 - SD, Munson or Munson, SD
Rd 4 - SD, Munson or Munson, SD
Realistically, I don't see why 8 total picks between 2 people couldn't be made within, say 48 hours.
11:59am, Aug 22 - Draft concludes. If you didn't get your picks in, farg you and Tim Tebow goes on your roster.
Labor Day - Everyone drafts to fill out their rosters. I couldn't give 2 shteins about the draft order because I draft last......you know, being the
Champion and all.
* = Edited for Dio
** = Rookies are designated as 2012 1st year players and can be any offensive position.
Also, farg the commish. He has a stupid job and a new kitchen. Not sure what that has to do with fantasy foozball, but yeah, farg him good.
I think every time Dio says, 'Munron', he should be given a bonus point. A life bonus point.
SD, Munson, make sure the commish validates your team on yahoo and he resets your dickfor to prevent any carry overs.
Bravo, Sassy. Doing the footwork so rjs can luxuriate on his Brazilian Cherrry floor unburdened by this particular conundrum. But you left out Zanshin's complaint about the team he's taking over lacking a rookie to keep. Where in your marvelous plan does that problem find resolution?
Forgot about him and his rookie situation. Fixed it for ya buddy and now it's a solid plan. Even more solid than your AC slab.
in case anyone ever challenges my loyalty to the overall health of the league let me state this: it was my idea to reduce keepers to 1 per position and 4 overall.

The only dates I definitely can't do are 8/31 and 9/5, as I have two live drafts those nights. Any other night I can probably figure something out.
This shtein literaly takes like 10 minutes with all of our keepers (ok, it feels like 10 minutes).
Most of you guys suck at drafting anyway.
Ok, so as long we don't draft 08/23-08/25, I'm fine. I'll be getting ass-rammed in Vegas.
You mean you don't draft with a fleshpop up your ass?
Ok.
Everyone needs to get their keepers in by noon, this Friday the 16th. Post them to this thread.
Zanshin needs to select his rookie by the end of the weekend, Sunday the 18th. Post it to this thread.
Munson and SD will pick their rookies on Monday the 19th and their expansion draft will be held on Tuesday the 20th. We'll do it in this thread as well.
I am scheduled to be traveling and working long days the week before, the weekend of, and the week after Labor Day, which means that there is no good time for me to draft. I agree that it should be during the week but just kidding I of course agree that it should be on Labor Day to continue the league tradition of SunMo whining and whining and whining about the draft time. Basically I'm open to suggestions for the draft date but as always will just end up deciding to do whatever I feel like with regards to schedule.

Russell Wilson is available for trade. Could be a rookie or QB keeper. Very beneficial!
Sunny, I would of course be open to trading. Here's my roster, I'm not really taking anyone off the table except for Richardson since he's my rookie keeper.

Another topic to be discussed is the draft order. Since this is a keeper/dynasty league it has always been determined by previous year's results, but that is all farged up now thanks to sd and Munson. I'm tempted to randomize it, but will listen to suggestions.
Just give Munson and SD the 1st 2 picks (don't care how you determine who selects first*) and then continue with the draft order starting with the 3rd pick based on last year's results. In 1995, the Panthers and Jags were awarded the 1st and 2nd picks in their inaugural seasons (though Carolina traded the #1 pick away). The Houston Oilers finished the 1994 season with the worst record and would have had the 1st pick but were bumped to the 3rd pick to accommodate the expansion teams. Same goes for the Eagles in 1999. They would have had the 1st pick in that draft had the NFL not given the Browns back to Cleveland. So they got the 2nd pick instead. shtein happens.
*Whoever picks 1st in the expansion draft should pick 2nd in the regular draft, imo.
Also, do SD and Munson really need to have a rookie draft and an expansion draft separately? Why not just let them make their 4 picks in whatever order they want?
Because I said so. Ass.
Bt seriously, picking a rookie and drafting established players are totally different exercises, so separating them makes sense.
Ass.
Then why haven't we ever had a rookie draft separate from the regular draft? Huh? Hmm? What? Yeah....that's what I thought, biznitch!
PS. I still heart you!
i come into this thread sometimes just to read about how stupid it is.
The only player I won't consider trading is Andrew Luck. Whether I keep him as a QB or as my Rookie, I haven't decided.
Andrew Luck (r)
Demaryius Thomas
Andre Johnson
Frank Gore
Alex Green
Scott Chandler
Ahmad Bradshaw
Michael Crabtree
Brandon Lloyd
Larry Fitzgerald
Maurice Jones-Drew
Andy Dalton
Bernard Pierce (r)
Jason Hanson
what's this with drafting rookies?
Every team gets to keep one rookie as one if their keepers. Usually if someone doesn't have a rookie on their roster at the end of the year they're an idiot and we listen to them whine about it and maybe let them pick a rookie off of the waiver wire prior to the draft (I can't remember if we've ever actually done this but t sounds like something we'd do). Anyway, the rookie slot is meant to help build for the future and frequently the keeper spot is taken by someone who may not really merit a keep otherwise. Since there are three teams without rookies this year I'm dictating that you pick your rookie keepers from the waiver wire prior to make the supplemental draft simpler. I'm letting Z pick his rookie first to keep with the expansion team theme.
Basically I'm just making arbitrary decisions and the arguing that they make sense because that's how I go though life. Make sense?
so it's a rookie from the 2013 draft class or last years draft class?
Quote from: rjs246 on August 13, 2013, 07:49:24 PMI can't remember if we've ever actually done this...
We have not. In the past if you didn't bother to keep a rookie on your team or add one just before the season ended, then you didn't get to keep one and you ended up with an extra pick at the end of the draft to fill that extra slot.
Quote from: SD on August 13, 2013, 07:56:17 PMso it's a rookie from the 2013 draft class or last years draft class?
Class of 2012. Think about it...wow else could we already have them on our rosters?
I don't know...draft was late April, it's now mid August.
You're new to this, I should remember.
Okay look...there is no way anyone could have a 2013 rookie already on their team because the fantasy season is over months prior to the NFL draft. Those players who entered the NFL in the 2013 Draft are now available for anyone to draft when we commence our annual Labor Day Draft to fill out our rosters. Several rookies will likely be picked if for no other reason than you get to keep one and if you pick the right guy that could work out very well for you. Almost every team from last year has a rookie or two on it from which the owner will select the one he gets to hold over this year. [The team Zanshin is taking doesn't happen to have a rookie on it because phillycrew farged up, essentially.]
To be especially clear: those players who are retained this year under the "rookie" tag may never be so retained again. I've got Andrew Luck. If I keep him my Rookie, then I could also keep Andy Dalton as my QB and be set at that position. For this year. Assuming they both don't farging suck this year. But I digress. When the year is over, I won't be able to keep both of them because Luck ain't a rookie anymore.
Get it?
No wonder you have a hard time accepting climate change science. shtein is complicated, huh?
Hey, just scrolling through quickly to catch up after some time out-of-pocket. Who of last year's rookie class has already been kept?
To save the effort, I'll take David Wilson (Giants), Daryl Richardson (Rams), Michael Floyd (Cardinals), or Alshon Jeffery (Bears) in that order if one of them is available. If not, let me know and I'll pick another. You'll probably want to give me Wilson, because if I have him, he's sure to blow out his knee in Week 1, and that would be fun for everyone.

I cannot find a way to easily sort the rookies from last year
You'll know which Rookies from last year are not available after this Friday, which is our deadline for declaring Keepers.
Okay, according to the list Sarge posted previously, this is the roster and I've designated the keepers.
QB - Peyton Manning (keep)
QB - Tony Romo
RB - Steven Jackson (keep)
RB - Chris Johnson
RB - Marcel Reece
RB - Darren Sproles
WR - Malcom Floyd
WR - Percy Harvin
WR - Jeremy Maclin
WR - Roddy White
WR - Mike Williams
TE - Owen Daniels
TE - Vernon Davis (Keep)
K - Lawrence Tynes
Def/ST - Baltimore
Rookie keeper TBD based on availability
Here's my roster from last year. Haven't decided on my keepers yet, but I'll listen to any reasonable trade offer.
Jerry's Kids
QB - Brady, Tom - KEEPER
QB - Wilson, Russell (R)
RB - Forte, Matt
RB - Spiller, CJ - KEEPER
RB - McFadden, Darren
RB - Wilson, David (R) - KEEPER
RB - Greene, Shonn
WR - Johnson, Calvin - KEEPER
WR - Boldin, Anquan
WR - Smith, Torrey
WR - Moore, Lance
WR - Brown, Antonio
TE - Gonzalez, Tony
K- Gostkowski, Stephen
Def/ST - Chicago
Interesting decision, Zanshin, keeping Vernon Davis over Roddy White.
The PPR thing played a role. Also, there aren't a ton of TEs worth keeping over WRs, but Davis is one of them...especially with Crabtree out and their WRs not named Boldin playing so poorly. That, and the fact that I just don't ever have total confidence in White from game to game.

RB-Adrian Peterson
WR-Victor Cruz

Zashin and I have made a trade.
He gets Arian Foster from me and I get Roddy White
My keepers now are
Colin Kapernick - QB
Lesean McCoy - RB
Roddy White - WR
T.Y Hilton - rookie
With that trade in mind, now my keepers are:
P. Manning (QB)
A. Foster (RB)
V. Davis (TE)
M. Floyd (Rookie)
Keepers:
Rice
J Jones
Ryan
Richardson (r)
Well I obviously got to sunny's PM a bit late...damn
me too, but I would never have given him Andre Johnson AND a fourth round pick for Foster.
Nor I Julio Jones and a fourth. So instead he got Jones' understudy and no draft pick for the consensus #2 player in the ff world. The homerism is strong in this one.

Scoring updated to be .5 pt per reception.
Keepers and draft order updated. Now we need SD and Munson to pick two rookies and do their supplemental draft. In the interest of simplicity and helpfulness, because I'm nothing if not helpful, here are the remaining players from the top 75 with Yahoo's generic rankings. Note, I've removed the 2013 rookies since they are not eligible for the supplemental draft:

74 Vereen, Shane
75 Williams, Mike
Yahoo's FA list makes it a pain in the ass to find the rookies because it still lists the players from everyone's team, even on the "all available players" list
I'm still not sure how we're doing the order...I liked Sarge's idea of whoever picks first in the rookie/sup draft picks #2 in the regular draft and vice versa. If that's how we're doing it....SD, do you want to pick first now or in the regular draft?
Draft order is already set with SD picking first since he signed up first. So Munson go ahead and pick your rookie.

Keepers won't show on the site until just prior to the draft. Easiest way to do it will probably be to jot down the players everyone designated as keepers in this thread and then don't pick them.

Dez Bryant

Just for clarification these pics have to line up with our keepers right? one QB 1 RB 1 WR?
Yes. One QB, one RB, one WR (or TE)...plus one Rookie. Four total players max.
I suppose you could decline to use all four slots though and just have an extra pick or two at the end of the league-wide draft.
Well in that case, farg me for not taking Dez Bryant after SD took a RB.

At the risk of being a pain in the ass, can I ask that we move the time from 8:15 to 8:30? I need to get my kid home from football practice. If it's a big deal, I'll try to work around it...but if nobody cares, that would be dandy.
And by risk, I meant certainty. But that was obvious, right?
I think just about everyone here would agree that if you post some bikini pics of your fitness guru wife to your facebook page every now and then, we'd be willing to adjust the draft time to whenever the farg you want.
Shhhh....I need everyone here to believe my wife is hideous. Besides, everyone knows that Facebook totally needs more pics of my kid doing stupid, ordinary things. Bikini pics would detract from that, and I have a rep to uphold.

I'm fine with this. How do we decide the draft order?
I just got into a 33 league. You get a team, if that team gives up 33 points you win the pot for the week. Teams are picked out of a hat and you keep that team for the entire season. So for instance, if I pick the Eagles, and they give up 33 or more points to the Skins, I win $320. If two teams give up 33 or more than the pot is split accordingly. To buy in it's $170 for the season.

I made a mistake...it's not 33 or over...it's 33 on the dot. Girl I work with said she won last year after the pot rolled over for 5 weeks.

Munron drafted Marshall, not Green so my question is irrelevant.

You can select your own keepers, but that's already done. The draft results show you kept Ashlon Jeffery, Marshawn Lynch, Dez Bryant, and Matthew Stafford. Draft results show the draft order as well....you will have the first pick in the non-snaking draft. Thank jeebus the draft is through yahoo because it would literally take weeks if we posted our picks here. Payment is sent directly to the winner at the end of the season.

I'm assuming only the commish can add my keeper players. It says I have until 3 on Sunday to add my keepers. Marshawn Lynch is currently assigned to Astroglide.
What is the draft order?
How do we draft, is it through Yahoo or are we posting our picks here?
Where/how do I make my payment?
You can select your own keepers, but that's already done. The draft results show you kept Ashlon Jeffery, Marshawn Lynch, Dez Bryant, and Matthew Stafford. Draft results show the draft order as well....you will have the first pick in the non-snaking draft. Thank jeebus the draft is through yahoo because it would literally take weeks if we posted our picks here. Payment is sent directly to the winner at the end of the season.
Day of the draft, what section am I accessing to make my picks? How will I know when someone else makes their pick? Will it update automatically or will I have to hit refresh? Is there a time limit to make your picks?
There'll be a link that says "your league is drafting now" click on it and its all automated. Yes there is a time limit...2:00
the draft is still set for 8:15, z
SD, the link to enter the draft application will appear at 7:45. From what I understand, using your phone or tablet to draft farging sucks so use a laptop if you have one.

Also, did we bump up the fee to $28?
Did everyone agree to that (for inflation of course).

Kiss of death.
yeah, especially since i'm sure they base the grades on their own rankings which are horrible
we should all take a moment to reflect and lol at phreak for taking a defense in the 6th round or whatever it was
But defenses are crucial. They totally aren't interchangeable from week to week depending on matchup. Crucial. Totally.
Also, Phreak, Isaac Redman is available for next year's first round pick and a future 4th rounder. Think about it man. Don't let this chance pass you by.
I supposed I could look it up, but since important people are in this thread-- are there any add/drop limits for the season?
No limits.
I am happy with my draft and the early defense. When I beat the tar outta you fellas remember my goddamn name!
I liked getting mocked for taking a 100+ reception TE in the 5th rd of a PPR league.
Well you know what they say, strong tight end depth is the key to any successful fantasy football season.

Well, that wasn't a bad start for Manning. Here's to hoping he can pick things up as the season progresses. Have to start somewhere, though.
I was hoping for a couple of rushing points from Manning out of the pistol, though...so I'd have to classify the night as something of a disappointment.
FNG talking shtein already.
Ha. I don't talk shtein. What's the point? I didn't play. And only an idiot wouldn't start Manning, so that's not exactly a stroke of genius. But whomever I took the team over from was going to dump him. That would have been silly.

You took over Philly Crew's team and I'm 100% certain he wouldn't dump him. When I posted the roster, Romo was designated as a keeper because that's who PC kept at QB from the 2011 season heading into 2012. So glad I sat Vereen in favor of Lamar Miller. Miller got me 1.50, Vereen has almost 20 points.
I've got Vereen in two other leagues and kept him benched in both...yeesh.
Figured he'd have a decent year but if this week is any indication, he's going to be way more involved then I thought. Probably doesn't hurt that Ridley caughed up a fumble early
You just never, ever know with NE backs.
I started Brady over Kaepernick. The Pats have the Jets next week while the niners have the Seahawks. So I'm gonna start Brady again. After that I'm making him available for a trade. I need another back.

I almost picked him up this morning but said farg it the Giants blow plus he's a chronic injury player.
I put in for him last night, soon as I saw he was available. Glad I got him because he's a solid improvement over Greg Jennings. News flash, Minnesota: Christian Ponder is not a starting NFL QB, in any era.
You're welcome buddy.
I had to sacrifice someone and the guy on the 0-3 team with a QB getting sacked left and right and has to share touches with Cruz and Randle...he gone.
:-D he gone!
I tried to pick him up, but had the worst waiver position. I wouldn't mind if Amandola would rub a little dirt on his vagina and go catch some Brady touchdowns.

I don't think there's ever a good week to play against Peyton.
And yeah I've been somewhat fortunate in my matchups, but I'm also in the 2nd tier of point scorers behind your insane amount, so my team is producing quite well. If I can keep scoring at a 126 point per week pace, I like my team's chances.
I'm thinking of trading a top TE. Either Gates or Davis. If you need a top tier TE, give it some thought and make me a legitimate offer.
I hate TEs. If I were to trade for one of yours it is a dead lock sure fire blow up in my face move. The guy I drop will blow up and whoever you give me will underwhelm in every game I need him to perform and score like bonkers in games I've already won. farg TEs.

Brady's been my QB for like 8 years but it's time to pull the plug. Other than the Atl game, he's been killing me this year. Gonna give Cutler a shot this week. The match up is too good not to.
And I'm leaning toward starting Amandola over Fitzgerald. Insanity, but the 9ers defense might flat out kill Carson Palmer.
Anyone in need of a TE? Got Gronk and Cameron...
i do but since i'm probably not making a run i won't want to give up much. take a look at my team and let me know what you would want

I'm still pretty dumbfounded that I got the win. Went from 8th to 3rd in 3 weeks and I really have no clue how that's happened. My team has been largely underwhelming this year and I've had to do a lot of lineup shifting due to injury and inconsistency.
Bye weeks, injuries and under-performing starters have been killing me the last few weeks. I'm sure a hobbled Peyton will help dramatically.

I'm down with this, although I don't think Rusty is actually tanking. It's not like he has a roster full of backups.
What would be a good penalty? Double the entry fee (which gets included in the pot to the winner)? Go down on Chuggie's mom? Run errands with Dio for a day? Go hat shopping with T-hawk?
No, I'm not actually trying to tank, my team just turned to shtein. Trent Richardson, Julio Jones, Matt Ryan turning to shtein because JJ and Roddy White were hurt. Ray Rice turning into some sort of useless douchenozzle for no good reason. Yeah, my team blows, but I'm not tanking.
Regardless, I'm cool with implementing a change to the league rules next season so last place pays some sort of penalty. Punishing ineptitude is right up my alley.

Well, this is it...Sour Krauts won, so it comes down to DeMarco Murray for Zanshin outscoring Matt Forte and Brandon Marshall with about a 7 point cushion right now for the last playoff spot.
Forreal though...Peyton farging Manning.
Unless Romo goes off for 40 pts without involving Witten, I'm pretty sure I've got the 3 seed locked up and Thawk is in the drivers seat for the 4th seed. Looks like the 1st round will be:
(1) Munson vs (4) Thawk
(2) SD vs (3) Sarge
Half the players on my CF team I'm playing against the guy in my work league.

I want Sunnys check so we could split it

Is draft order determined by record after the two championship teams? Am I automatically the 8th pick next year?
Draft order is determined by final seedings after the playoffs/consolation rounds. Even though you were eliminated this weekend, you and SD will face each other for 3rd and 4th place. So if you win and finish 3rd, then you'll draft 7th.
The only 2 teams guaranteed their draft position are Rusty and Chuggie for finishing in the bottom 2. Everyone else will be based on playoff outcome.
Got it, so I want to win to get the better draft spot. Me likey.
I'm just going to pretend you didn't say that.
I also do the cha cha like a sissy girl. I like-a...do...da cha cha.

He's a teacher too
So should I be tanking for a better draft slot or is there a benefit to winning 3rd aside from sunny rights aka bragging rights
No, you shouldn't tank. Yes, you'll get a better draft spot if you do.
Draft order for next year:
1. Rusty
2. Chuggie
3. Loser of Zanshin/Sunny
4. Winner of Zanshin/Sunny
5. Loser of Phreak/Dio
6. Winner of Phreak/Dio
7. Loser of SD/Munson
8. Winner of SD/Munson
9. Loser of Thawk/Sarge
10. Winner of Thawk/Sarge
ha...I'm not setting my lineups

ha...I'm not setting my lineups
Same...I'm assuming there's no way to leave a slot empty so I'm going to put my scrubs in
Congrats on 3rd place munson
I think Sarge did that backwards...I think the winner of our match up gets the 7th pick, and the loser gets the 8th pick...otherwise it makes no sense, and we'd all just try and tank this last game.
You 2 are playing for 3rd place. Winner finishes 3rd, loser is 4th. Those will be the final standings for the year.
Same concept applies to the 5th/6th and 7th/8th place matchups.
Chuggie and Rusty are locked into their spots and stopped playing after week 14 because they suck something awful. Everyone else (1-8) keeps going but only 1-4 compete for the championship.
Trust me....I have an Associates Degree in Fantasy Sports.
Hilarious. Top three in points scored...potential third pick next year.

But if I'm understanding this correctly 3rd place gets pick #7 and 4th gets pick #6 meaning I want to finish 4th right? Chuggie and Russell get the first two picks next season.
Yes
so we should both tank? hmmm...
No. Only 1 of you should. Don't you know anything?
I know I hate Gronk for getting hurt, and I hate Jamaal Charles.
You got smoke checked because Andy Reid used a dynamic running back properly. Chew on that all off season.
farg.
Lol
Here's my tank team:
Stafford
Riley Cooper
Stevie Johnson
Lamar Miller
Chris Ivory
Jimmy Graham
Ryan Matthews
Mason Crosby
Cincy
I'm attempting to out tank you with...
Russel Wilson
Aaron Dobson
Brian Hartline
Andre Ellington
Brandon Bolden
Rob Gronkowski
Julian Edelman
Matt Prater
KC
farg...I think you win...lose
Are you 2 going to split the prize for 3rd?
Since the prize for 3rd is a later draft pick, NO.
Looks like my patchwork team is finally coming undone. At least this was determined pretty early so I can go about the rest of my day and not worry about fantasy sports.
Nick Foles could go off
This needed to be a close game for Foles to give me a shot. It was a blowout after the 1st qtr. My team basically shtein the bed. Oh well. I shouldn't have won more than 4 games this year so I can't really complain. Good thing we agreed to split the pot just to piss off Sunny.
Correct...we'll split it 100/0
whoever won, PM me your mailing info so I can get you a check
$25, right?
I'll paypal the shtein over. Saving the earth one personal check sized tree at a time. PM me your email so I can send it over. If you don't have paypal, I'll rape you.
I know its waaaaaaaay early...but if you're interested in any of the steaming piles of shtein on my team, send me a PM.

Lol.
Message me your addy so I can send your winnings. Try not to blow it all on another hat.
message me your mailing address
I'll do PayPal once I know where it needs to go. Message me or post it and I'll make it happen.
I was gonna send a check with inappropriate things written on the memo line, but might just do PayPal when I get home from New York.

My email addy is mschwar61@yahoo.com. If anybody else did not get the PM and needs my address to send a sonofabitch check, please let me know.
Cool. Done.
Payment sent. Jackass.
How much did we agree on, $25 or $28?
This will be like a enigmatic riddle for you, Chuggie: send me the amount equal to Lesean McCoy's number.
Who's LeSean McCoy?

Money sent
I managed to dig up my old paypal account, money sent.
Thanks everybody that's paid so far.
hbionic, Sarge, and Munson, after you finish your circle jerk, please wash your hands before remitting payment.
Sent...but I didn't watch my hands first.
Sent. I actually did watch my hands as I made sure not to wash them.
P.S.
You have a stupid last name.
If last names could fight, my last name would kick the holy ever living farg out of your last name to the death.
Mine is short and simple. Like my penis. Not Nazi like yours.
I'm pretty sure THawk was the lead singer of Jawbreaker/Jets To Brazil.
I have received all payments. Thanks for all the kind and not so kind words accompanying the :deion Sarge, I can't believe you actually paid with 100 quarters; that's a bullshtein move that cracked me up. I'm going to put 'em all in a sock and give you a code red (not mountain dew) to help remind you of your Army days...YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH
That's pretty good. I've run leagues where it's like pulling teeth to get paid.
I was actually going to pay you in pennies, but I found a few rolls of quarters in a box and suddenly I didn't feel like going to the bank for pennies.
Is everyone in for next year or is Dio finally calling it quits?
OUT
I kind of feel like everyone wins with this one.
sorry guys.....dio needs to save his paper for all the bets me and him are going to make next season
In
Is this happening again? Gotta figure out if I have to do 4 drafts this year
Really? Life is THAT complicated?
Extremely.
No, Keeper League 13 is not going again. But I am curious as to whether or not we're doing Keeper League 14. Who's in and who's out?
I'm in.
100% in
If anyone has openings in any other leagues let me know
There's a few openings in Sarge's mom if you want in. There's plenty of room for everybody.
Out.
I'm back to just being a fan of the Eagles. It's a relief.
Naturally the reigning champ has to be in
I'm in if the league goes. I'm out if it doesn't.
I have errands to run but I will be IN
I have drafts on the 20th, the 21st, and the 23rd, so any day other than those I can probably find a way to work around.
Dio is back in, he told me himself. Not really, but still.
In.
How does the keeper thing work again?
You keep your worst players and release the best ones to the keeper draft.
OK I'm renewing this shtein now. Who wants to take Dio's spot?
I will. What are we doing?
