State of Affairs

With over 30 offers extended, the Penn State coaches are pursuing prospects from Michigan to North Carolina. In fact, only about 21 percent of their offers have gone to Pensylvanian prospects. If you add in other traditional recruiting areas like New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia, that number increases to about 62 percent of the total current offers.

Here is a state-by-state breakdown of the offer board:

Pennsylvania: 7
North Carolina: 5
Michigan: 4
New Jersey: 4
Maryland: 2
New York: 2
Ohio: 2
Virginia: 2
Delaware: 2
Washington, D.C.: 2
Alabama: 1
Arkansas: 1

Decisions Made

Of the 34 known prospects with Penn State offers nearly 16 percent (five) have made pledges to a program, with one (Chris Colasanti) selecting Penn State.

The players with Penn State offers who have made their commitments so far are:

Chris Colasanti: Penn State
Sidell Corley: Florida
Broderick Green: USC
Duval Kamara: Notre Dame
Mike Ragone: Notre Dame

As an aside, Broderick Green indicates he is still interested in looking at other programs outside of the Trojans, telling Scout.com recently, "I think I'll visit Penn State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Texas."

That Tyrod Taylor is really climbing recruiting boards.  He apparently did very well at the Nike Camp in State College.  People thought he was more of an athlete but he showed polished passing skills at the camp.  Mike Robinson needs to be on the phone with this guy early and often.

Edit: Josh Marks is also announcing tonight.  It is thought he is going to PSU.

Marvin Austin is considered the best player in the country period right now, he would be your ALE of last year.

I do agree that Benn is not likely to come to PSU but Kamara just committed to Notre Dame so I am not sure he will go there.

You gotta figure they're good to go at DT after this past recruiting class.

I agree but it would nice to have another #1 player.

The guy I want is the RB from NC.  He is a physical freak.  6-2 245 4.58.

Of course Benn is tops on my list but I am not expecting much on that end.

hes supposedly a way better prospect than logan el...marvin would get a 6th star if they awarded them...logan el was only four stars

havent seen austin play yet but i have seen benn and he is phenominal...im gonna go this year when their high schools play each other

I meant that you said you wanted ALE more than anyone last year.  And Austin is that dude this year.
