bernie couldn't beat Clinton, a person too many people hated to vote for over trump, or vote at all. that's all you need to know. he had his shot.

he needs to go away to allow better dem canidates have their chance instead of dividing the left.

Agreed. Trump will eat Bernie for lunch in the debates with demeaning rhetoric and claims of radical socialism.

I'll vote for Bernie or Biden, Warren or Booker, any of them, of course, if they are the nominee.

The only one I actually like so far, is Buttigieg.  Media darling or not, he's got my vote already.

I think I might be going vegetarian soon.

Until vegetable safety checks are shifted to the corporations and farmers growing them. In fields soaked in chemicals that the EPA, or what's left of it, says are fine. Oh and enjoy the price increases because Cheeto Dick has run off all the migrant laborers used to pick them.

Same. And agreed with smeags that Trump would beat Bernie is debated only bc her scream socialism.

Buttigieg or Beto are my front runners. And Biden.

Diomedes

Fair points on the food.   Pork chops for dinner tonight, kids!

After Buttigieg, I guess I prefer Warren's policies best, but I'm pissed at her for running.  To my way of thinking Warren's great value is in being an institution within the Senate, basically an attack dog for the left.   I don't think she's got a chance because she's already so hated as to be basically a more liberal Hillary in the public mind and because she's never won an election that required her to draw non-liberal voters.

Michael Cohen Claims He Has Evidence of Possible Illegal GOP Contributions From China

QuoteMichael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer and a former deputy finance chair of the Republican National Committee, claims that he "knows of possible federal campaign finance violations" by the RNC, including its alleged receipt of donations from foreign citizens.

This is a major allegation, but it may be overlooked because it is just one of a number of new or amplified claims Cohen made Thursday in a bid to get congressional Democrats to help him avoid prison. Cohen served as a deputy finance chair for the RNC, a top fundraising post, from April 2017 through June 2018.

That was all name rec. The left was comfortable with HRC and didn't feel like shaking things up.

Not anymore.

Again I think you're all severely underestimating what Bernie would do to energize the youth vote.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

General_Failure

At the very least Bernie would make the Bernie bros have to think up a new reason why they'd vote Trump despite what they say their values are.

Lol

I'm fortunate enough that the few Bernie bros I know didn't vote for Trump in the general...but they voted for Gary Johnson and libertarianism is probably just as stupid as Trumpism and even stupider for a self proclaimed Bernie voter to vote for so

and youre underestimating that young people dont vote and that suburban women who flipped the house arent going to fall in love with the old socialist man

the most important voters for the dems
1 blacks
2 suburban women
3 young people

pick a candidate that appeals to the first 2 and then worry about the third. bernie is doing better with blacks than he did 4 years ago but hes going to get us crushed in the midterms if he even wins in 20. kamala is a pretty damn good candidate. bernie is pushing the conversation further to the left which is great but sorry not everyone gets to be president.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Only have a small amount of anecdotal evidence for this, but the guys I went to high school with that are both black and politically active are already out on Harris in the primary, she is as they say, a cop. They like Bernie and Biden like everyone else does right now.

I think it's a mistake to write off the young vote, especially because it's very cross sectional with the minority vote at this point. Young black people didn't come out for Hillary because they didn't trust her. Getting the young vote out in general is going to be key to winning, but it's going to be especially key in Wisconsin and Michigan. Absolutely need those votes in milwaukee and Detroit.

Bernie also appeals to the old white dudes that are WWC and not racist, so that's a plus.

I think any ticket that is some diverse combo of Bernie/Biden/Harris/Castro/Booker/Buttigieg/Beto wins it. If it's an old white guy, Harris is the pick, though cases could be made for Booker or Castro. If it's Harris, going with either a white dude or Castro seems right. It won't help with the WWC if it's Castro but having those two on the ticket would give them serious shots at NC, FL, GA, AZ, and an outside shot at TX. If it's Beto, I think any non-white person works, but I'd again favor Harris to get a woman on the ticket.

As much as I like Warren, if she doesn't win the nomination then I don't want her buried in the VP slot. I'm with dio on that, keep her as an attack dog in the senate.

Rome

Beto/Harris wins in a landslide.   Harris would bring in the coastal libs and Beto would bring in the whities in the midwest and south.
