He should move his stand.

Maybe go set up shop next to a church this time. That would be funny.

Yea I saw him on the news and was like WHAT! He's mad white. I mean like red hair white.

I don't get it. When I lived in Philly, every stand had playboy, penthouse and the occasional harder mag. What now you can't have it in every stand or is it just because where he's located near liberty bell...? what a crock of shtein.

Protestors Block Center City Streets After DHS Firings

PHILADELPHIA -- About 500 people are blocking several key Center City intersections after Mayor Street fired two top Health Services officials on Friday afternoon.

The protestors are blocking all traffic near the area of Market Street, 15th Street and JFK Boulevard.

Philadelphia Mayor John Street ousted two top officials at the city's Department of Human Services earlier in the day.

The mayor has announced the resignation of DHS commissioner Cheryl Ransom-Garner, and has fired assistant commissioner John McGee.

DHS employees then walked out in protest of Ransom-Garner's removal.

The shakeup comes in the wake of newspaper stories questioning how DHS handled cases of child abuse -- several of which ended with deaths.

Dr. Arther Evans has been named acting commissioner of the department.

From 2003 through 2005, at least 20 children died of abuse or neglect after coming to the attention of the Department of Human Services, including 10 last years, the Inquirer reported last Sunday after obtaining department records.

Among the cases cited in the newspaper's review were a 2-year-old punched to death after the agency had closed a case involving her mentally disabled mother, who had talked of abandoning her; and another 2-year-old girl who was beaten to death last month, as DHS had been investigating an abuse allegation.

That map proves, without a shadow of a doubt, that Philadelphia is one of the safest cities in the world if you are Asian.

Not too dangerous if you're white, either!

Since when is poor taste illegal? What law is this guy breaking? Is there a law against being distasteful?

I never said what he's doing was illegal.  I just think that setting up a porn stand around a major tourist attraction is crossing that "imaginary" line.  The area he's decided to set up shop in is an area that generates a lot of revenue for the city.  The only thing he's going to accomplish by keeping his shop there is driving tourists away who want to spend money.

This story makes me laugh and pisses me off at the same time.

Poor taste? POOR TASTE?!

You sir, need to reassess. Immediately.

Pretty much the response I was expecting from you.  :-D

Color me conservative with my opinions on this particular subject if you must.  But I like taking my kids to see historic landmarks.  I had them down at Independence Hall last summer.  I don't want them walking past a friggin porn stand and luckily there weren't any around at the time.

If this dude wants to sell porn.....fine, more power to him.  I don't care what he does as long as I don't have to explain to my 9 and 6 year old daughters what he's selling.....not around a tourist attraction/historical landmark like that.

Like I said, there's a time and a place for everything.  If this dude wants to sell porn then he should find somewhere else to sell it.  Have a little consideration for other people.

PS...I love porn.
PPS....A lot.

A questionthat I didn't see answered in the article:

Is it visible?  I would be against having the material prominently or visibly displayed where anyone could see it.  I'm not familiar with current laws about this in Philadelphia (or anywhere else for that matter).

I could see a scenario where the magazines are available for purchase, but kept behind the counter.  I wouldn't be overly estatic about the idea, but I probably wouldn't come in contact with it.
