With the non-stop barrage of firefox promotional crap on the internet, I'm just about ready to switch to another browser.

Safari? omgapple

Hell no, I'm thinking about this one called Internet Explorer. Must be pretty new, haven't heard much about it.

Firefox 3 is out today, i downloaded it and installed it, but it keeps crashing when i try to run it...that sucks

Do you have Add Ons? If so, you may need to turn them off until they have updates themselves...or just get rid of them totally.

Anyone ever used or know anything about Memeo AutoBackup? It claims to automatically backup all new and updated files to either an external drive or online server.  Does it work and is it safe?

Seabiscuit36

we use it at work, but havnt had to use it to recover stuff

I have a Time Machine setup on my mac which updates anything new and stores data up to how many days your external hard drive can handle. I have a 1TB hard drive, I set it up on May 1st, I can basically go back and see what what on my computer then. I don't turn it on daily but maybe twice a week, just in case. It's useful, I already had to go back and find something I accidentally trashed.

That is the lamest use of a time machine that I have ever heard.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I'm getting rid of my Sony Vaio i bought back in 2000.  It has an 80gb internal hard drive that i removed since i dont want some kid getting all my awesome bukkakke porn.  Can i just set it up as a slave drive in my newer PC?

If you have the know-how, you have put it in as a 2nd internal drive.  You'd probably have to get rid of the start-up programs on it, though.

You can also purchase a kit at Best Buy to make it an external drive.  It costs about $40.  Not sure that's worth it for an 80GB drive.

The real nerds probably know a way to just transfer the programs, so I'll let them tell you how to do that.

why didn't u just buy an external, transfer the "files" over and then formatted your laptop clean.

i have a 250 gb external already, but its my backup drive with a good amount of my music.  The old drive i have is basically just for extra memory, im at the point where my 250 gb is already full on the internal hd, and the external is nearly full at 250, so the extra 80 would help.  On the 80gb i just took out, its basically a blank hd at this point as i formatted it about a year ago to wipe it clean, and have barely used it at all.
