you slacker motherfargers...I had to read through five pages of garbage to find this out?
farg you
I blame Phreak, honestly.
I discontinued writing OP's after all of you level 1 nits couldn't handle describing teams by mascot and color.
If you had stuck with that soul-crushing office job you would have known this shtein already.
That's because people who sit in offices aren't actually working. I spent the day on a farging ladder at just under freezing temps with 40 mph winds.
It was not better than sitting in an office, but I still prefer it because farg, at least I didn't steal from anyone today.
Maybe tomorrow!
Yea, it will be warmer tomorrow. I might drink two beers at lunch.
Power tools, beers. Pay me.
I will accept blame. We are Dio's daily planner...all things one place!
QuoteTwo NFL backs have caught 150 passes & averaged at least 4.8 yards per carry since 2011: Darren Sproles and LeSean McCoy.
Be great if Sproles found a little fountain of youth here and got all his mojo back. You just know Chip will come up with some kind of pkg with Sproles and Shady together.
Just figured it out - trips with Sproles, Shady and DeSean with Lane going on out to join them. Then throw a 5er to Celek that he can't quite bend to catch at knee level and drops.
Man, now if they can work out that Jackson trade it'll be just like Reid and McNabb's prime years all over again. I can't wait.
great move for 2011
Oh Jesus. #YesICurseAndPraiseGod

what you see is definitely the aftermath of sproles having gone in for a pound and a hug and howie having gone in for a standard accountants handshake
thats why the pic is such a tough thing to look at

such a 2009 extension....
Quoteccording to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, the Eagles have signed newly acquired running back Darren Sproles to a two-year contract extension. His new deal will run through 2016. Sproles was previously slated to make $3.5 in 2014 alone.

Asked about the Eagles offense: "I feel it could get real crazy."
I want to see some Harlem Globetrotters shtein this year. Bust out a quadruple reverse.

Depends on the $$.
Sproles doesn't have the same amount of wear and tear that most backs do. That's not to say he isn't on the downside but I have no problem locking him up at a reasonable number in case things go very well.

They'll need to pump in the music.
...all kidding aside when shtein gets crazy, they should totally pump in that music.
Gonna need another turbine for that
What I'm really looking forward to is seeing McCoy, Sproles, Jackson, and Maclin all on the field at the same time while Brent motherfarging Celek catches an eight yard pass.
Who is the last one to wear 43 that was worth a shtein? Damon Moore?
FS 64 stopped his list at #40. Damn.
So he's okay.
@GeoffMosherCSN: What I'm hearing on Darren Sproles: Not out for the year, but probably out a few weeks. There was fear it was an ACL tear, but it's not.
kind of a fleshpop move the way he was rolled over by the dlinemen.
That play happens a million times in a game, but you're right seemed to me where the Eagles had guys wrapped up, they'd let up. It looked bad.
yeah maybe i'm looking for something but it bugged me to see the guy roll him. the whistle was blown already.
so if sproles and polk are iffy during the week of the cards game, do they sign another rb? OUTLAW????
Sounds like 2-3 weeks, outside shot of playing at Houston but more likely Carolina. I'm guessing Tucker gets called up from PS or they re-sign Barner
everyone is coming back for carolina....machine will be rollin then
igy you're setting yourself up for a let down....you are all in on a SB run starting then...I hope it happens for your stress level sake
This team is good at beating up awful teams, which is great because the schedule is full of those teams, but maybe settle down a little.

lol there are plenty out in cyberspace
I just happened along on this one while posting the article
Signed to a one year contract extension through 2017
Wow nice.
i dont really get it unless they are paying him as a locker room presence de facto coach...hes in his declining years and they have guaranteed the most money in the nfl by far against the cap next year plus next years draft is running back loaded...seems unnecessary
He's not a running back. He's a split end on a team with remarkably mediocre receivers. And it's chicken feed in terms of the overall cap.
Nice use of de facto, though.
And still a very effective returner - which on an offensively challenged team is needed to shorten the field and pop 1-3 return TDs a year
somehow I don't think this debate will end here... :paranoid

25 bucks he doesn't have another PR for TD in his career
Whether he has any more return tds is irrelevant. He's a good player overall and a very good return guy. This is also a great way for Howie to show the players that if you play well, the team will take care of you. Basically going the anti-chip route.
again it's not the end of civilization or anything but there's no reason to give an ancient "good" player an extra year when you have no money
Jordan Matthews on Sproles' deal:
QuoteHe's a great role model not just for the running backs, but also for me. When I see him go out there and make plays, I'm like, 'Shoot, I need to.' I know Zach [Ertz] looks up to him. It's crazy. We look up to a guy that comes up to our knees! But he's a beast, man. He's a beast.

I think it's much more than that though. I think it's Howie (and Pederson to a much lesser extent) sending a message to players and agents around the league that things are going to be much different than they were with Chip. Pederson, if nothing else, will be a "players coach" and will be open with players and encourage players to be vocal as well. Guys were mostly afraid to saying anything to anyone with Chip because he'd send them packing. And Howie is not only trying to wipe out what Chip did, but maybe even separate himself from the Banner model a little bit, which didn't involve much signing of older players. Basically, the Eagles have a lot of stink on them right now and aren't an exceptionally attractive destination. This is a small step in rebuilding their image....in addition to keeping a good player/locker room guy around as well.
respect what you are saying but i think you are overthinking it...or maybe I'm a hater curmudgeon but I think Pederson is completely in over his head and they know it...sproles is an extension in the locker room and just the kind of veteran you want when you have a clueless leader as a HC
I'm just glad the offense will have one talented skill player this season.

They have Ajayi, Clement, Sproles, Smallwood, Pump, and a new UDFA Josh Adams. Seems crowded enough to me. Although Barner might be better than half of those guys.
Plus the large rugby player they'll convert to FB.

i understand the sentimantal value of sproles... but i'd rather of kept blount.
How is keeping Sproles an instance of sentimentality? Keeping Celek would be such an example but not Sproles. He's still got gas in the tank. As for Blount, thanks for the memories and all, but he was cooked at the end of the year and Detroit caked him off.

yeah, i guess if he plays ten plays a game. but not having played a year, acl, 35..... c'mon rome.... it's more sentiment...
Presumably Sproles is making the vet minimum, which is half of the contract that Blount got from the Lions. That's a very unsentimental reason to sign him over Blount.
david (sproles) v. goliath (lane) TD celebration

i didnt get it at the game and i still dont get it
refer to 1 Samuel 17 for context
david kills goliath by slinging a rock in the middle of his forehead (and then cutting off his head, but that violent aspect of the narrative is conveniently left out the general re-telling of the fable for reasons im certain you all can ascertain)....sproles is small....lane is big....half the team is jesus freaks who jerk it to the bible
the fact that they had to explain this kind of sums up how effective this performance was
Back on a one year deal
Love the guy...but.
Only good thing I see coming from this is a higher chance he retires as an Eagle.
If he can still go and doesn't have to be used more than five times a game, great.
Should've turned the page
If he's heslthy he could be an important piece as a punt returner
they don't have anyone there unless it's a high leverage situation where they use pimp
They might have the best 2011 squad in the league with Pimp, Sproles, Peters, et al.

Last year was the first year where I thought he had no explosion on punt returns. It's good to have someone back who can just catch the ball, but I didn't feel he had much left there either.
Assuming he gets 20 a game, he should end up with a total of 80 for the season.
Math.
Yes, math. You're saying he'll be healthy for the post season, and the Eagles win another Super Bowl.
I'd be seriously happy with 10 touches a game from him. I can't conceive of a reason why he would ever be called to run a ball out of the backfield, though.
But Dougie gonna do Dougie every once in a while.
Howard, Sanders...and except for the sb Clement aren't receivers out of the backfield. Sproles fills that need and pk.
he looked washed up to me last year, but healthier and a limited role? i guess.
question is do they keep 5 backs now. sanders, howard, sproles, clement, smallwood. josh adams they try to hide on the PS

IMO explosion is overrated on punt returns...in a perfect world you'd love to have devin Hester or Dante hall but assuming sproles isn't completely done I think he can be a late career Brian Mitchell type...who can read holes won't fumble and can have a nice return average...it certainly can't hurt to audition him...they don't have anyone for the job now
I mean, if he doesn't work out as a punt returner they could try that Jackson guy.
up to me pimp would be full time PR but they have already stated he would inly handle high leverage returns
Put them both out there at the same time at the Giants game, make them forfeit in frustration.

part of this is pimps ego. punt returning is bitch work unless its a high leverage spot. pimp aint no bitch.
Sproles only needs 162 yards to pass Jim Brown for all time all purpose yards putting him in the top 5
I honestly hope he gets it before he gets hurt again.

DING DING DING WINNAH! Totally agree, he really dislikes Saints FO so definite possibility.
Shocking news: Torn hip flexor, done for the year.
This team's injuries get worse during the bye week than most teams' do during games.
If only Howard, Sanders, Clement and (possibly) Ajayi could stand in as replacements.
officially retired

Can't really fault the guy for trying to do it the last couple of seasons, but it was definitely time to let it go.
Thank you for your service, when healthy he was fun as hell to watch. That touchdown against Pittsburgh in Wentz's rookie year was awesome.
