Title: Little League World Series
Post by: Don Ho on August 21, 2005, 05:07:37 PM
I don't know if many of you are watching the LLWS but this Hawaii team is amazing.  Every time I look up there whackin' one out.  They look like men compared to this Iowa team there playing(Danny Almonte?).

Amazing that I actually played for that same Newtown LL All-Star team 13 years ago, and we couldn't even beat Levittown or Richboro.

I played for Old York Road Little League, but I was never all that good and went away during the summer. I think one year we won like 2 games or something and almost made it to the regional tournament.

I was on the Levittown International team as a 10-year old.  We didn't go very far though...

Hawaii beating Florida 8-0 in the fifth.  Maybe Wade should take a ride over to the LLWS and sign some of these kids.  Very fan friendly!

Who was that Danny Almonte like dude who has a goatee and struck out 18 kids the other night? Check his birth certificate!

I wonder if he smokes and drives a dirtbike?

I think he had a 5 o'clock shadow by the end of the game.

Why is it that every kid on that team had better English skills (with no axsent) than me?  Are they all Army brats?

Poor kid from Louisiana throws a one hitter and loses 2-0!

Hawaii down 6-3 in the 6th to Curacao, scores 3 to send it to extra innings (first time in 34 years), the Hawaiian pitcher throws 76-79 (equivalent of 99-101 major leagues) to put down Curacao 1-2-3, then a home run in the bottom half wins it! First Hawaii team to win the LLWS...  :yay :yay :yay

Did you seet that kid mow down those cocky kids from Curacao(oh by the way their favorite palyer, every single one - Andru Jones, at least one Hawaii kid loved Bobby Abreu) in the top of the seventh?  Amazing.  Maybe he can just stay in PA and take Rheal's spot on the roster when we cut his ass in the next day or two.

ESPN Classic will be rebroadcasting the game on Friday night.  I believe it's on at 8:00 EST.

Hopefully this will help erase game 6 1993 WS at Toronto.  That game is always on ESPN Classic.
